That kind of writing just annoys me. I've seen it on a number of shows, and when they started doing it on Arrow, I got fed up and stopped watching.

I don't understand why they insist on delaying romance on all those shows. Seeing the characters together doesn't ruin anything!

Yes I totally agree. I actually enjoy watching established couples together because they do have to work through their problems, and fight for their relationship. If a couple isn't fighting for the relationship, why should I as a viewer be invested in it, when they clearly can't be bothered?

I personally think it's lazy writing. It assumes the viewers will only invest in a couple if they take forever guessing whether they will get into a relationship, but when they do, constantly break them up again, to get that 'will they, won't they' writing style back again.

I first saw this on The New Adventures of Superman. I massively shipped Lois and Clark and they took forever to get together. They were about to be married and it all went wrong again. I walked away from that show, because of it.
