Hi everyone :wave:,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us :).

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Catia or Chelle a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes less than two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have made and voted on a winning graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

:yay: Not sure what to suggest though. I think discussion here has always been more SciFi than Fantasy. I like the blues, but have never been a fan of the purple buttons.

Are there any good symbols represent the themes & popular shows, ect. discussed here? Anything you like in the header now that you'd want to see again or don't like so would like to see left out?

To me blues fit the theme but these feel i don't know, too happy? :shrug:

To be honest, I don't see why we would necessarily need to recustomise. It's good as is. :look:

You don't necessarily need to be recustomised & having the board recustomised isn't to say that there's anything wrong or bad about what you have now. It gives you the chance to change things up a bit or even keep things similar but have a refreshed graphic. It gives you the chance to suggest things which may not have been included in the past to be included this time. There may be posters who weren't here when the board was last done who would like to see something done & now this is their chance to have a say. As with all recustomisations you can choose to keep or change whatever you want. Things will look different but we can still make minor changes if that is what the posters on the board would like :)

Rita - it's nice that you like the current scheme, but as Chelle says, something fresh can be nice too.:) Is there anything in particular you'd like to see in a banner? Planets, spaceships - although those can be hard since they tend to be identified with a specific fandom - dragons, faeries, hobbits maybe since the LOTR board is gone ... :shrug:

Yes, that's it. Grayer blues might suit the genre better.

Elves :lol: I'm crazy about elves. But it's just a suggestion, not a must. As with everything else. If people think it needs changing, please do so, otherwise I'm happy as it is.

I also likes Vikings, but I'm pretty much the only one on the board as such at the moment.

I'm not a fan of the tv show Vikings, but I don't mind Vikings in general.

What colours do you like?

What would work for Vikings if we included it even if its more general than show-orientated?

Maybe the motives in the Vikings show'a promotionals but not the actors?

do you have picture examples of what you mean? I'm not familiar with the show or with Vikings so I have no idea

Back to your earlier question Chelle, Popular shows discussed here are Vikings, Dark Matter, The Librarians, Killjoys, Firefly, Alien, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit,

maybe a sword could represent the fantasy element?

So more sci-fi, less fantasy is what you said earlier, right?

So like swords for Vikings, some smoke elements, what else could represent this board in general, you think? My knowledge of sci-fi is very limited. :)
