I thought the final show or ending was a cop out! For me I would have rather liked them find the 13th Tribe at Earth and having a more primitive technology culture to restart the fight again, not this 50,000 years later stuff!!!

i think you missed the point of the entire show...'humanity's children have come home.' one of the Final Four asked a very important question in Season 4, if humanity deserved to go on, and no one could answer it. hmmm. we've been here before and we'll be here again, this has all happened before. i thought it was a fitting ending, in breaking the cycle of rinse and repeat. maybe humanity were the Cylon's mistake. *mind blown* if you never learn from your history and mistakes, you are doomed to repeat them. |

OK I see your point, but I disliked those two God like characters that were walking in the modern society to judge human kind again?
If god is Kind, Caring, and Just...they would not allow mankind to keep making the same mistake over and over again. So thus allowing mankind to keep making the same mistake, God should break the cycle to make a better future for their creation. If God excepts this cycle then they created a imperfect race, and that means God is imperfect himself. Sorry I do not buy this theory at all, and I believe the original series from the 1980s had the plot more correct and they should have followed that plot line more closely. For me there was far to much Mello-Drama in the new series. I also feel there should have been MORE Cylon Models it only makes sense to have more. Now the New Show had some good points, but so did the Old Show that it was based off of. __________________

Now I did like the updated technology this show had, but I seriously do not believe that the Colonies would only have Battlestars, and none of the other support vessels. I know they did show this New Ship for BSG RPG: Berzerk-Class Gunstar
https://blackcampbell.com/2010/02/20...class-gunstar/ If you want to see some other ship designs that different FAN groups came up with: Explore Starship Concept, Battlestar Galactica: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/535154368202799124/ __________________

You know there was a difference between the Old Show and New Show. The old show had the Religion of the 12 Lords of Cobal really mean something, and the New show it was more of Myth that they just talked about. Also a Colonial Warrior was something special in the Old Show, where in the New show they are just a fighter pilot is all. To me I liked the myth of the old show to the realism of the new show.

i liked the old 70s show because it was more in the vein of Star Wars-type scifi and definitely had that 70s vibe to the dress and looks, and the desperate intensity of shows like Buck Rogers, Starbuck and Apollo were my two favorites from that show.
i loved the new version much more, because it was much more political in nature and showed the human race in all it's daring-do and dirt, equally. we are as evil as we are good, and eventually our sins, karma if you will, catch up with us. BSG had everything a great show could offer in themes, war, hatred, racism, class warfare, politics, disease, famine, finite resources, great characters, evil characters, duality of characters, and so much more. i could talk about themes and layers of meaning in the seasons, all day long. there is no good without evil, no courage without sacrifice, no meaning without loss. the writers did such a great job with the 2003 mini-series, the four seasons, and the Razor episode. i never could get into the Caprica thing, because my allegiance was always to Adama and his crew, and President Roslin. great acting all! i am still quite sad and shocked to this very day, at Dee's suicide. i never saw it coming. |

Thats what I liked about this reboot too it was very in tune with showing everything - all the dirty deeds and it really showed all that was to be human - both its good and bad
Dee's suicide Still kills me Plus making Starbuck a woman was a hell of a gambit and it so paid off __________________

For me I don't thinks everyone would just give up all technology and scatter all over the earth to return to sticks and stones again. I would have liked to see another season and have them try again. They had no Cylons chasing them anymore, so why not try to rebuild civilization.

I remember watching the old show and loved it, but the new one also had a great appeal in a different way. It was a great re-invention I think.
