Be warned...looong review here. Wow so Pandora definitely did not fail to deliver the awesome, at least for me. Let’s get right down to it:

Zod: It’s official, Zod is my favourite big baddie the show’s ever had. Everything he does, every word he says oozes intensity and sex appeal. From his first scene to the last he brought it. I really don’t think I’ll ever tire of his scenes. In his first scene with Lois, he’s the ultimate tease. He knows she’s starving and tells her to try the truffles, but when she reaches for one, he grabs it from her and eats it right in front of her face. Then he gets in her personal space and tells her to tell him what he wants to know...apparently that method of persuasion isn’t reserved to Tess. Lois informs him that her dad’s a General and he gives the, “Oh, I’m slightly impressed” look. I think he admires her moxy. Then he goes rooting through her pants pocket in a way that can only be described as sexual harrassment. No wonder Lois squirms and tries to evade his grasp.

When Tess walks into the room and the two women get in each other’s faces, Zod just stands to the side like he’s amused and wants to see them throwdown (and I’m sure every male viewer watching wanted that as well). Zod lets Lois know that he’s not going to wait for Clark to join them anymore and that he thinks a double execution is in order. Lois is terrified and he seems to get some kind of high from her fear and cheerily tells her that she can at least enjoy a great last meal.

Then Zod dubs Tess an honorary Kandorian and gives her the dog tag while Lois looks on enraged. They walk back inside the Luthor mansion where Zod decides he’s going to behead Clark, because beheading someone shows so much more style than just shooting them. Before Zod can strike though, Chloe’s band of merry men break up the party and one of Zod’s people forces him to leave while Zod glares at Clark and his hand shakes from the desire to chop of his head with the sword he still carries.

Later on, when we see Zod again, he’s nochantly dragging Clark through the street and spouting off your stereotypical villainous monologue. I’m forced to laugh at just how casually he’s doing it...like he’s taking his dog for a walk in the park or something, as opposed to dragging a person behind him. Zod beats up Clark pretty good and gets that evil grin on his face when he stomps on his hand and then sends him flying through a building. He turns to Lois who was about to run to Clark and holds her by the neck until the yellow sun starts to shine and the smug smirk is wiped off his face. Zod realizes that things are about to take a drastic turn for the worst for him and as is typical of all villains, he doesn’t take any responsibility for his evilness and turning the world into a hellhole. He stabs Clark with a k-nite knife with glee until Clark tosses him aside and he’s down for the count.

At the end of the episode we see Zod giving orders to his minions to ensure that the solar tower will be built ASAP and he’s about to give Alia of the freaky eyes (seriously, what is up with them?!) her task when he realizes that Clark’s found them. He orders everyone to kneel before Kal-El and grins deviously at Clark’s “WTH?” reaction. Hmm wonder what he has up his sleeve now. Bottomline? Zod makes evil look hot and I want more of his evil hotness please!

Tess: Tess, oh Tess. The woman is seriously unhinged. She kidnaps Lois and has Stuart hook her up to a machine to get inside her head...and she’s lecturing Stuart on boundaries?! Really, Tess? Really? And then she gets frustrated with Stuart when all she can get is fragmented images from Lois’ mind. Okay, Tess...you are looking at images inside Lois’s mind. Think about that and how unbelievable that is before you maim Stuart because he can’t make things clearer for you right away. Anyways, Tess eventually decides that she needs to see more so she gets hooked up to the machine and her brain waves get synced to Lois...a la Clark and Lex in Fracture.

The next time we see her, she encounters Lois for the first time in a year. Lois is enranged by Tess’ actions, yet Tess maintains her lunacy that she only trying to save the Earth. I say she’s only really trying to save her own ass, especially considering the fact that she gets dog tagged shortly after this scene and takes the time to admire her dogtag while Lois yells at her for being a traitor. Now after seeing how unhinged Tess is, I didn’t really think that her death scene would have moved me...but it did, mostly because of how awesome Justin and Cassidy are in this scene. In fact, IMO it’s probably their best scene together so far. Tess maintains to the death that she only did what she did to save the Earth and Ollie cries over her as she dies. I think his reaction to her death makes her come across as a more sympathetic character and reminds us of the history these two characters have and how much they meant to each other at one point in time. Having said that, I really need to ask...how does Tess think she’s saving the world exactly? Metropolis is a deserted wasteland, people are in prison camps, the sun is freaking red, Zod and his followers are going all willy nilly and killing whoever they want...so what part of this screams, “Eden” to you Tess? Can someone help me understand this?

Moving on, when Ollie buries Tess, Tess immediately comes out of it...apparently the only thing that really stuck with her was that Chloe killed her...not that...I don’t know...teaming up with Zod is the WRONG idea?! I’m okay, I’m cool. So yeah, Tess tells Stuart to erase Lois’ memories and my Stu love grows like 100x when he refuses. He knows the consequences and he will not be responsible for harming someone like that if something goes wrong, even though he doesn’t know Lois. Tess cannot stand to be defied so she shoots Stuart and is about to take care of business herself when Clark comes whoosing in. Tess is a master at self-preservation so she tries to pin everything on Stuart only to have Clark push her aside and knock her out in his haste to get to Lois. Bottomline? Tess is crazy sauce, but Cassidy’s awesome acting makes her great to watch.

Chloe: Everytime I think she can’t get any more chilling she does. Just wow. Okay let me backtrack here. Because of Chloe’s shady dealings in the season thus far, Clark automatically assumes that Chloe knows something about Lois’ disappearance. Chloe gets huffy and lets Clark know that Tess is behind it and he can work on his apology later. Now Clark probably shouldn’t have verbally attacked Chloe like that, but I can understand why he’d do it. If someone’s been lying to you and keeping secrets from you, it’s going to negatively affect your relationship with them and you won’t trust them. Consequently, Chloe probably shouldn’t demand an apology from Clark, when all she’s given him are lame rationalizations and half-hearted apologies for invading his privacy. Anyways, Chloe lets Clark know that Lois has PTSD and that the memories are straining her heart. She calls Stuart to find out if Tess has Lois.

When we first see Chloe in the future, she’s pretty bad ass. She’s formed a resistance and she leads the group that saves Lois and Clark from being beheaded. I’d like to know though what exactly was the last straw for her that prompted her to be so cold...because she killed Tess and shows no remorse for her actions at all and she’s not even moved on Ollie’s behalf. Yes she lost Lois, Jimmy and Clark and I understand that would have had a negative effect on her, but from the looks of things, Ollie stuck with her and he’s probably the only good friend she has left, so I’d think that she’d at least feel something for him and his obvious grief over Tess’ death. When they go the resistance headquarters, Chloe and Ollie berate Clark for abandoning them, as if he was a traitor who joined Zod instead of trying to defeat him after Chloe ran off with Davis (sure she says she did it all to protect Clark, but she can’t berate Clark for not being a team player when she wasn’t one first) and Ollie shot him in the back with a k-nite arrow. Yeah I’d want to stick with them too. We find out that Chloe apparently had the key to shutting down Zod’s tower the whole damn time and didn’t do it! What the hell was she waiting for??? Earth and mankind are going to pot and she’s sitting on the solution the entire time! So what if Clark wasn’t exactly working with them at the time? She could have still unleashed the virus to stop Zod’s tower knowing that Clark would take the opportunity to defeat Zod.

Anyways, Chloe, Ollie and Lois walk into the Watchtower later while some bad ass music plays and the trio get to work. Chloe’s clearly very comfortable in the Watchtower and I like her constant movement in the scene while she gets it back up and running. She gets the Virus going and tells Lois to go on, because she’ll be right behind her. She goes to meet up with Lois shortly after, only to be stabbed by Alia and to die in Lois’ arms...in what can only be a heartbreaking callback to Phantom. Chloe saved Lois in that episode and now it’s up to Lois to save her cousin. Meanwhile back in the present, Chloe finds out that Clark’s hooked up to Lois’ memories and convinces Emil to leave them connected instead of pulling them both out of it, knowing the immense physical risk to both of them. Yes, I understand that Clark knowing about what happens in the future is important, but Chloe has no idea what Clark’s seeing and if Lois’ memories will actually help him and what’s to say that Lois and Clark don’t die from the stress this experience is putting on their bodies, before Clark gets the info he needs. How will a dead Lois and Clark help anyone?

When Clark comes out of it, Chloe asks Clark what he saw and when she finds out about the doom and gloom of it all, she gets understandably freaked. She cautions Clark against befriending Zod, because if those towers get built that’s the end of the world as they know it. Bottomline? Allison Mack continues to work the hell out of whatever material she’s given. Right now Chloe’s a very chilling character and as much as I may dislike or not understand her actions, at least she’s keeping me interested.

Ollie: We open the episode with Ollie on the phone calling in specialists to get to Met Gen ASAP, so they can find out what’s wrong with Lois. Now that’s what I’m talking about! Ollie, I love you and your concern for Lois. I also love how Ollie and Clark are clearly working together again to help the woman they care so much about. Although, Clark’s phrasing in this scene is odd...why would he say that Lois was “already” kidnapped? Was he expecting someone to take her? Anyways, Ollie helps Clark come to the conclusion that maybe Chloe knows more than she’s telling them.

The next time we see Ollie, he’s part of Chloe’s resistance and is super cool as he kills people left and right and slits throats and tosses k-nite knives at people. He sees Lois and calls her “legs” in a nice callback to Savior...even though that nickname doesn’t make much sense in this scenario. Ollie tells Lois, “Long time no see” and they hug, as if Lois had just gone a rather long vacation instead of being presumed dead for a year. Ollie let’s Lois know that Chloe’s behind the resistance and she reunites with her cousin, while Chloe, Clark and Ollie exchange awkward glances until Ollie hears Tess struggling to breathe. On a side note, I think this is the first time we’ve ever had a scene with the four of them and I really like how throughout this episode we have scenes with more than just two characters at a time. I think that switches up the relationship dynamics a bit and makes some of these scenes much more enthralling. We have the Ollie/Chloe/Clark/Lois scenes, the Tess/Lois/Zod scene, the Chloe/Lois/Ollie scenes, the Clark/Emil/Chloe scene, and the Clark/Chloe/Ollie scene. I find it fascinating that these characters have apparently known each other for a few years and this is the first time we’ve seen the four of them share a scene together. Anyways, back to Ollie. So Ollie sees Tess dying and holds her in his arms while she dies. He’s devastated to see what’s happened to her and he cries and kisses her forehead and shuts her eyes when she’s gone. When Chloe tells him that she killed Tess, he looks at her with loathing and then turns back to Tess. Like I said before, I think this is the best Tess/Ollie scene we’ve had so far and I think it’s probably one of JH’s best scenes ever actually. Ollie then buries Tess, while Lois looks on sadly.

Lois, Chloe, Ollie and Clark then go back to the resistance headquarters and Ollie says Clark abandoned them...I already dealt with how I feel about that so we’ll skip ahead. They form a plan together and the next time we see Ollie, he’s walking into the watchtower with Lois and Chloe. He sees his crossbow again and says, “Honey, I’m home”. This is why I love Ollie...even in the midst of a crisis he can still crack a joke. He gives Lois a k-nite knife and tells her they need all the heroes they can get and Lois tells him he still knows how to charm a girl. Later, when Alia stabs Chloe, he yells at Alia to get away from her and tells Lois she has to go back and save Chloe and stop all this while Lois cries over her cousin’s dead body. While Lois runs to Clark, he provides cover for her while 1000s of Kandorians descend on him like the flying evil monkeys in the wizard of Oz. Geez is that image frightening.

Back in the present time, Clark comes to the Watchtower in an incredibly good mood and Ollie comments on it. He finds out that Clark sent 5 dozen roses to Lois’ hospital room and is like, “5 dozen roses? That’s subtle.” I like how he can tease Clark about this now. There aren’t any hard feelings between them which is a refreshing change. Clark tells Ollie and Chloe that he’s going to try to befriend Zod and Ollie asks him if he’s going to hug it out. Ollie again reminds me why I hated seeing him so depressed. Snarky!Ollie is so much more enjoyable than depressed!Ollie any day of the week. Bottomline? Ollie’s a great friend to Clark and Lois and I love how he seems to be on board the Clois train now. Also his sense of humour is priceless. Never go dark on us again Ollie!

Lois: So the first scene we get of Lois is when Tess has her henchmen drag her to Sommerhalt..or wherever it is she takes her to. Really Tess? You couldn’t find a man strong enough to carry her? Or have a gurney or something? Tess and Stuart hook Lois up to this machine and we see Lois land in the DP one year into the future. The place is deserted and dusty and Lois correctly says, “What the hell?” She walks out into the street and sees the red sun and then one of Zod’s minions confronts her. She believes that she’s dreaming and asks him what’s up with the attitude when he demands to know why she’s out of uniform and calls her a filthy human. She says reporting is in her blood and tries to run when he threatens to spill it, only to have him appear in front of her and tell her that Blur is dead after she says the Blur will stop him. He points to the black shredded t-shirt hanging on a pole and Lois seems to realize she’s not in Kansas anymore. Question though: Why would the symbol mean anything to Lois at this point? Clark doesn’t start branding the city with his symbol until after she disappears.

Lois’ next memory is of her waking up in the Kent farm to see that it’s been transformed into a prison camp. She’s starving and goes in search of food only to witness Alia roasting some guy alive for stealing. Me thinks the punishment does not match the crime. Alia notices Lois and advances on her, so Lois backs up and says she just wants some food, more specifically maple donuts. Nice continuity there. Alia says she has to give her something in return and Clark shows up and gives her his watch. (I’ll get into the Clois bits more later) Lois is relieved to see Clark, until he informs her that this isn’t a dream. He finds out that she got transported into the future via the legion ring and tells her to keep the legion ring safe, before she gets dragged away by minion #1. I love how she immediately tries to go to Clark when the minion sends him flying and she resists going the whole time.

In the Luthor mansion, Lois’ arms are encased in handcuffs. She sees Zod’s lavish food display and is about to have some when he interrupts her and tells her to try the truffles. As soon as she picks one up he whooshes down, snatches it out of her hand and taunts her by eating it in front of her face. Lois is less than impressed that he’s General Zod and tells him that her dad’s a general and he couldn’t get her to spill how she got a tank to take her to prom, so she sure as hell isn’t going to tell Zod anything. She moves to walk away from him, but he stops her and goes rifling through her pants pocket before she can leave. She squirms to get away just as Zod finds the ring (too bad she didn’t hide it in her bra, like she hid that memory stick in Odyssey...I guess she didn’t have time to do that this time) and Tess walks in. She’s absolutely livid that Tess turned her back on them and strikes her and calls her a “red-headed rat” and a “traitor”, which are pretty mild terms when you think about it. Tess says she’s this planet’s savior and touches Lois. Lois angrily swipes her arm away and calls her “the ultimate eco-terrorist”. Zod asks her, “What are you?” He assumes she’s a member of the resistance. Lois says the only thing she’s resisting is the urge to kick both of their asses. She’s one brave girl. She’s landed one year in the future, found out that there are aliens with superpowers who’ve taken over the world, yet she still doesn’t back down. When Zod tells her that neither of them (Lois nor Clark) are any good to him alive, the way she says, “Excuse me?” tears at my heart. She can’t believe that she’s landed in this nightmare and now she thinks she’s going to die. When Zod tells her a double execution is in order, she can’t stop the tear that slides down her cheek. She’s petrified, but instead of begging for her life, she still stands her ground.

Lois then witnesses Tess’...I guess you’d call it knighthood by Zod and the anger and outrage on her face is crystal clear. If one of Zod’s minions wasn’t holding Lois back, she would have rushed at Tess and taken her down. She then berates Tess for turning her back on humanity. Inside the Luthor mansion again, we see Clark in the library. He demands that they let Lois go and take his life instead and she’s overcome by what he’s willing to do to save her. She tries to reach out to him when Zod’s minion forces him to his knees and yells, “No!” as the sword is about to descend. Fortunately, Chloe and Ollie have excellent timing and Lois is thrilled to see them. When they find out that Lois is from the past, they devise a plan to send her back, and Lois, noticing the tension between, Clark, Ollie and Chloe tries to smooth things over between them. The next Lois scene we have is the Clois love scene, so I’ll just skip ahead for now.

At Watchtower, Chloe tosses Lois a bandage for her hand. What the hell happened to Lois’ hand? Am I missing something? Lois wraps up her hand and reminds Chloe of when they were kids and she kicked Chloe out of her clubhouse for spilling soda and Chloe said she’d just build a better one. She tells Chloe she wins. I liked that bit of insight into their childhood. Ollie gives Lois a k-nite knife and tells her they need all the heroes they can get. Lois and Ollie go out of Watchtower to face the Kandorians and Lois pauses to see if Chloe’s coming. Chloe reassures her that she’ll be right behind her. Shortly after, Chloe comes running out of Watchtower and Lois encourages Chloe that she can make it. Unfortunately, Alia stabs Chloe right in front of Lois. Lois screams, “No!” and goes running to Chloe’s side. She tells Chloe that she’s going to be okay and Chloe dies in her arms. Tears stream down her face as she mourns the loss of the girl she loves most in the world. She doesn’t want to leave Chloe, but Ollie convinces her that she can save Chloe by going back to the past and making sure this future never happens. Lois agrees and kisses Chloe on the forehead before she runs to meet Clark, while Ollie provides a cover for her.

When Lois sees Clark, he’s getting his ass handed to him by Zod. She tosses him the k-nite knife and witnesses another one of her loved ones get stabbed. Clark convinces her she has to go back and she reluctantly agrees. He puts the ring on her finger right before Alia stops them. The next time we see Lois, she’s apparently lost her memories of what happened or they’re being blocked at the moment. Is it any wonder that she has PTSD? She got sent to the future, was reunited with the man she loves, nearly had her head chopped off, had sex for the first time with the man she loved, and then lost both the man and the girl she loves on the same day. Yeah I’d repress those memories too. Anyways the next time we see Lois, she’s back to her snarky self and believes she has hypoglycaemia (sp?), so she has to eat every 3 hours. We get a lovely Clois scene where they agree to officially become a couple and Lois is adorable as she rattles of her list of what she’d like to do with him, and then reaches out to hold his hand in the elevator. Bottomline? Durance once again shows why Lois is made of awesome. She had some really heavy material to work with and she shines in every scene she’s in, from the moment Lois wakes up in the future until the last scene when she’s awake and well in the present. Her emotions in this episode ranged from confusion to relief to terror to heartbreak to joy and she handled every single emotion with incredible aplomb. I’m so happy she finally had some scenes with Callum, because this episode really showed the fantastic chemistry she has with the entire cast. Kudos to the Durance!

Clark: Please allow me to be completely shallow throughout most of this section, because future!Clark is damn fine. Teh scruff...and teh grey shirt...and teh dirt...and *brain temporarily short circuits*. Okay I’m back, I’m good. So yeah backtracking to the beginning, Clark is extremely worried about Lois, so he rushes to Luthercorp to find Ollie after she’s kidnapped. When Ollie helps him think that Chloe could be behind her disappearance he immediately seeks out Chloe and accuses her of hiding things from him. Like I said before, Clark probably shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions here, but I do see where he’s coming from.

In the future, Clark gives up his dad’s watch for Lois and is incredibly relieved to see her again. I am incredibly happy to see Clark sporting his Odyssey look because that’s what made me fully realize the hotness of TW. What was I saying? Oh right Clark gives up his Dad’s watch for Lois. He informs her that she’s not dreaming and that aliens have actually taken over. He finds out she has the Legion ring and tells her to keep it safe and tries to hit minion #1 to defend her. Later he willingly offers up his life to save hers. When Chloe and company show up, Clark thanks them for saving their lives and you could cut the tension between them with a knife. They believe Clark abandoned them and he apologize, but reminds them that he’s their best shot at defeating Zod.

Later on, Zod is kicking Clark’s butt, but Clark isn’t giving up. He keeps trying to get back on his feet and tells Zod that humanity will never stop fighting back. When the yellow sun comes out he’s back to being his super self and lets Zod know that his reign of terror is over and he pushes through the pain when Zod stabs him in the gut. He urges Lois to put the ring on and go back and change things. He kisses her goodbye then slides the ring on her finger.

Prior to this, present!Clark tracks down Tess and immediately shoves her aside to get to Lois. Clark needs to work on manhandling people a bit and should try to temper his strength because one of these days he could really hurt someone. He fights against the pain of the k-nite to try and unhook Lois from the machine only to get caught up in her memories. When he comes to, he automatically asks how Lois is, with no concern for his own pain.

At the DP, Clark’s taking care of Lois and forces her to define their relationship. They have the talk and agree to take things slow and go out for a cup of coffee. Clark later walks into the Watchtower looking absolutely buoyant. He must have had a fantastic lunch . Anyways, he tells Chloe and Ollie that he’s going to try befriending Zod, since he’s seen what approaching Zod as the enemy does. Unfortunately, Clark doesn’t know that Zod saw him talking to his father’s grave and telling his dad that he knows what Zod becomes. Clark finds Zod’s hideout and Zod has the Kandorians kneel before Clark, while Clark has a “WTF?” face and wonders what’s going on. Bottomline? Welling is a ridiculously pretty man. For serious. Please never go back to the red/blue combo again, Welling. Also, now that I’ve seen Welling portray Clark as a man in love with Lois Lane, I totally get what he said in that interview about Clark not being in love with Lois yet, or at least not being aware of it. For me, he’s completely selling Clark as being 100% in love with Lois with every little facial expression and the way he acts around her and gets into her personal space. Thank you, TW!

Clois: I think I’m running out of words to describe them, but I’ll try anyways. I love how throughout this episode we have Clark, both present!Clark and future!Clark, being extremely protective of Lois and concerned for her safety. He spent the entire night with her in the hospital (which I would have loved to see btw) but when he stepped out of her room for a minute, she’d been kidnapped. Now wouldn’t Clark’s superhearing have picked up on something? Anyways, Clark’s mission in this episode is to find Lois, so he goes to Ollie for help and then he goes to Chloe and he’s very worried when he finds out about the stress the flashes are putting on her heart. When you consider the fact that his dad died from a heart attack, I don’t blame Clark for being worried.

The first scene we get of future!Clark is when Clark gives up his Dad’s watch so that Alia will let Lois go. Lois looks at him in shock. They hug and Clark tells her that he thought he’d lost her forever and that he can’t believe she’s alive, while she tells him that her dream just got a whole lot brighter. Clark tells her that it’s not a dream and Lois realizes she’s living her worst nightmare. She asks him about what’s going on and why he’d give away his dad’s watch. She knows how much that watch means to him. Remember in Vengeance, Clark nearly killed someone over it. It’s the last thing he has that belonged to his dad and he’d willingly give it up for Lois. He tells her he did it for her. Awwww. Best explanation for how Alia got the watch EVER! Clark brings Lois up to speed about the alien invasion and Lois asks about Chloe. He can’t give her an answer, after he thought he lost her, he went off on his own and he hasn’t spoken to Chloe or Ollie in months. Lois finds out that she’s gone one year into the future and Clark realizes that the legion ring brought her there. Just as they come to this realization, minion #1 shows up and tells her that Zod wants to see her. In spite of the fact that Clark doesn’t have any powers, he still tries to protect Lois and moves to hit minion #1, only to be sent flying to the other side of the barn. Lois tries to go to him, but minion #1 drags her away, while she struggles against him the whole time. Clark calls out her name and goes to the fence door, but he’s locked in.

When they see each other again, Clark automatically tries to go to her, but minion #1 holds him back. Clark tells Zod to let her go and demands that he take his life instead. Lois is visibly moved by what Clark’s trying to do for her and she reaches out to Clark but the minions hold her back. Minion #1 forces Clark to his knees and he falls with a thud, instead of begging for his life, Clark stares Zod straight in the eyes and Lois yells, “No!” as the sword is about to descend. I love how Lois and Clark would never beg for their own lives, but they wouldn’t hesitate to beg for the other’s life. They’d do anything to save each other, even if that means dying for each other. In the nick of time, k-nite laced arrows start flying around the run and Clark whisks Lois away to safety. Throughout the whole fight, he keeps his hands on her shoulders and makes sure she stays safe. He doesn’t let her go until, Ollie comes over to them and releases Lois from her handcuffs.

At the resistance headquarters, Clark is shirtless (shirtless!!!!). He’s washing his face in a bowl, when Lois enters the room. He looks up and asks her if she’s okay and she recaps everything that happened to them and says the one thing she can’t believe is that he’s not friends with Chloe anymore. Clark explains that it’s not Chloe’s fault and says that after she disappeared he couldn’t be around Ollie or Chloe, because they reminded him of her and that hurt too much. He left and trained himself to fight Zod. Lois wonders what he meant when he said he had a history with him and he says he made a lot of mistakes. TPTB went out of their way in this episode to make sure that Lois didn’t find out the secret, so I’m hoping this episode isn’t the last we’ll see of Lois’ flashes. Back to Clois, Lois tells him to stop beating himself up. He’s not alone in this and they could all die tomorrow. I’m reminded of Crusade when Lois mourned Chloe’s death and Clark told her that she wasn’t alone. Clark’s the picture of a broken man as he looks at Lois and tells her, “Lois, I died when you left.” Lois is overcome with emotion at this and reaches out to touch his chest and reassure him that she’s here now. He kisses her and then proceeds to unbutton her shirt in haste. He thought he’d lost her and now he’s not wasting anytime, as he rips her shirt open when he tires of the buttons. They don’t even break apart for a minute to rid themselves of their clothing, as Clark turns Lois to the bed. We then get the sex flashes we’ve been getting combined with images from the opening scene of Idol. Talk about absence making the heart grow fonder! To be quite honest, I’m surprised Lois didn’t jump Clark any sooner. From the minute he saw her in the future, he made it clear just how much she meant to him and coming from a Clark who’d just given her the cold shoulder, this must have come as a shocking change to Lois. He gave up his dad’s watch for her, he offered to die in her place, he told her he died when she left....I would have jumped Clark right away! The fact that Lois held out as long as she did, shows just how much self-restraint she has!

The next time Clark sees Lois, he’s been badly beaten, but the minute he sees her, his face lights up. Even when things are looking horribly bad, she still brings a smile to his face and gives him hope. As for Lois, she’s there for Clark when he needs her. As soon as he’s injured she comes running to his side and Clark smiles for her and breathes out her name. He tells her to take the ring and go back and change things but she doesn’t want to leave him. She’s worried she’ll never see him again and I think she means that she’s worried she won’t see this version of Clark again. Remember the last time she saw Clark in her timeline, he blew her off. She just found Clark and discovered that he feels the same way she does, so I think she’s partly worried that she’ll go back to the present and things will go back to the status quo. Clark reassures her that she will see him again and he reaches up to cup her face in his hand while he kisses her goodbye, as if he’s been kissing her forever. Clark slides the ring onto her finger, in something rather reminiscent of a marriage ceremony just as Alia descends on them.

Back in the present, Clark comes out of it and asks how Lois is right away. He puts his hand on her arm as if to reassure himself that she’s still there and then I think his hand slides down her arm so that he can hold her hand in his. He asks if her memories are gone and I can’t help but think it’s not exactly fair that once again Lois doesn’t remember and Clark does. Emil says something about a memory inhibitor so like I said before I’m hoping this isn’t the last we’ll see of her visions.

At the Daily Planet, Clark gives Lois a maple donut and tells her she needs to take things slow. She takes a bite and asks if he’s happy. He says, “Very. I almost lost you once, I don’t want it to happen again.” I’m guessing this line refers to Lois’ trip to the future and how he’d thought he lost her then. Seeing his future self so distraught over Lois’ disappearance no doubt had an effect on him. Lois cheerily munches away, while Clark pauses to look at her. Then he gets into her personal space and asks her what they’re doing. She gives a snarky reply and he clarified that he means, “Us, Lois and Clark, Clark and Lois as a couple.” Lois tells him to slow down and that she needs to get her feet back under her. He refuses to be deterred and says, “You can lean on me for strength. I feel stronger when you’re around anyway.” *Rachel swoons and melts into a puddle on the floor* Lois says she’s done the relationship thing wrong so many times and Clark says, “Let’s do it right. Let’s take our time.” He won’t take no for an answer. I love how this contrasts Clark saying, “I wish we had more time” during the love scene flashes. Then, they didn’t have a lot of time, because the world was about to end, now they do have time, so Clark’s willing to take things slow. I also love how in the past if Clark knew about how dangerous things could be in a relationship of his, he’d back away and push the girl away, but now Clark knows how much he needs Lois, so he’s holding onto her even tighter. Lois agrees to take things slow with Clark, then grabs his arm and says they’re going for a cup of coffee, which will be followed by lunches, picnics in the park, dances in the rain, and him taking her to a monster truck rally. Clark’s caught up in her excitement and can’t stop smiling throughout her entire spiel. When they’re in the elevator, Lois reaches for Clark’s hand with her right hand and he immediately curls his fingers around hers. I’m inclined to believe that their positioning in the elevator was deliberate since Lois normally stands on the other side of Clark. They probably wanted to include his watch in the frame. Also, I know I’ve probably over thought this, but I love the way they do the hand hold in this episode. Instead of having their fingers interlace, which is something that a couple who’ve been dating a while would do, or instead of having Lois slide her hand into his, she tentatively reaches out for his hand and covers it with hers. It’s not in Lois’ nature to meekly submit to a guy, she has to be his equal, she has to protect him in the same way he protects her. As for Clark, right away he wraps his fingers around Lois’ in a vice grip. He’s never letting her go. This scene also provides a nice contrast to Zod (the episode), when Clark covered Lois’ hand with his and she wasn’t ready for that yet, so he let go of her hand right away. Here, Clark just put himself out on a limb and clearly told her what he wanted, so it was her turn to make a move. I’m happy that she reached out to him and took him up on his offer to lean on him for support.

In Clark’s last scene at the Watchtower, it’s easy to see how happy he is that he’s made things official with Lois. Ollie comments on the fact that he’s remarkably happy all things considered and he says that the sun is shining and Lois is going to be okay. He needs the sun to keep him strong physically and he needs Lois to keep him strong emotionally, as long as he has these two things in his life he’ll be okay. Chloe comments on the 5 dozen roses he sent to Lois’ hospital room (1 for each year he’s known her?) and wow that must have been expensive! Ollie teases him about it, but Clark merely smiles. He’s thrilled that Lois is now his girlfriend and he doesn’t care who knows it. Bottomline? They made it official! They’re boyfriend and girlfriend! He’s head over heels in love with her now and there’s no going back. Hallelujah!

As you can tell, I’m one happy camper. My only complaint is that the next ep doesn’t air until January. The countdown for Disciple begins now.

I knew this was going to be long. It took me 3 nights of viewing and reviewing and about 2 hours to type and post at the same time It's almost double the length of last weeks!

Pandora Finally!

This is maybe the most highly anticipated episode since the season began...where did Lois go, what did she see when she disappeared? But then again, the anticipation on waiting for Echo was palpable and then for Crossfire it was intense and then Idol it was unbearable given Cloisless Kandor...but the glimpse of future Clois in last weeks teaser...this is going to be EPIC^2 to the power of infinity - I exaggerate not!

Oh my the Idol kiss, the flashes - I may die now and we're only on the recap.

I gotta say, Luthorcorp was not the first place I expected to see and for a split second I was rather disappointed, but then I saw Ollie and felt so much better. So it appears that after Lois passed out, Clark has had her rushed to hospital - I want to know if he super sped her there. I don't really think he would have waited on an ambulance. He's stayed with her (how sweet) and as soon as he left she's gone missing. I love that at some point after Lois passed out Clark has got in touch with Ollie and he's flying in specialists from all over. Ollie tells Clark that Emil requested a copy of her test results, but he wouldn't be interested in them and I'm wondering why he's seemingly suspicious of Chloe.

We seem Lois being dragged by Tess and Stuart and I hate the show of Lois'/ED's feet being dragged on the ground - that's not very nice. While hooking Lois up to the machine that allowed Clark to get inside Lex's head in a previous season, Stuart mentions something from Lois therapists notes and Tess says: "They're called boundaries Stuart, find some"! Seriously! Seriously!! Is she for real, she's just kidnapped someone in a coma, who is defenceless and is planning to virtually hijack her memories and she's lecturing someone else on boundaries!! S-E-R-I-O-U-S-L-Y-! Tess looks sort of mystified that Lois did in fact go to the future...

And suddenly that's where we find Lois - I love the jacket but the ring is ugly!

Lois jumping when the Kandorian landed in front of her was great, she sort of jumps back without looking scared and I love her inquisitive nature, she thinks this is just a dream. Her dream. Well Lois, it's like a sweet dream or maybe it's a beautiful nightmare (Beyonce kept going round in my head ) Her one liners are great and she thinks the Blur will stop the Kandorians as her faith in him is that strong and she finds out he can't.

This is gonna be so great.

Tess decides she isn't getting enough from the images flashing on the screen and decides to sync her brain to Lois'. I have a major issue with Tess' kidnap of Lois and hooking her up to that machine to see where she went. Maybe it's just my reaction (which might be viewed as an over-reaction but I think is warranted) but in my eyes it was sort of like rape. Now I know it's not sexual, but she's been drugged to remove something from her mind so it's mental rape and the idea just doesn't sit right with me. I think before this I was still on the fence with regards to liking Tess - I love Cassidy and I think she plays her really well, but this one moment sort of made up my mind and so later in the episode when Tess dies in the future and Ollie was crying I was sad for Ollie, but I sort of also felt the way Chloe acted. I'm hoping that Tess still has the memory of everything she has done, she's just as ruthless as Lex and sometimes I think she's worse than he is with that "I'm doing everything I need to do for what I believe is right, irrespective of consequence or what's right". And we see that again when she shot Stuart in the back for trying to bring Lois out as she is while Tess wants her memories of the future wiped. But I'm running away with talking about Tess.

Lois wakes up seemingly in Clark's barn but it's not what she's used to. It's sort of like a modern day (future) concentration camp and Alia is punishing some guy for stealing with heat vision. Lois is looking for 30 maple donuts - would she settle for Clark stealing her one 11 months ago? Lois has nothing to trade for food but Clark trades his fathers watch in the hopes they will let Lois go. Clois hug *melts* "I thought I'd lost you forever". And Lois thinks her dream just got 10 times brighter and Clark has to break the news that this is no dream. Lois wonders how Clark could give his Father's watch away and Clark simply says "I did it for you". I love that she knows him well enough to know who the watch belonged to and what it means to him. For Clark he hasn't seen her in a year and needs her to survive, who knows what would have happened if he hadn't traded the watch! [gush] Tom is working the grey and white combo [/gush][gush]and oh my the hair[/gush] Clark finds out Lois got there using the Legion ring and tells her to protect it. I'll be the first to admit I love the concept of this episode and everything it provides us with, Clois sex and all, now call me crazy but couldn't Lois just have travelled home as that would have been enough to change the past/future? That way our Lois would not have been in danger. But, then Clark wouldn't know what he needs to do to defeat Zod and well, Clois are gonna get it on

Zod wants to see Lois - who doesn't.

Back to present day and Clark wants to know what Chloe did with Lois. At first I thought Ollie had been suspicious of Chloe but only now I get that he meant because she is family - slipped my mind! Chloe says something about "right accusation, wrong girl" and how Clark "can work on an apology later". Hello, why should he apologize - it'd be in keeping with your acts so far this season.

They lay the groundwork with removing Lois memories early on in the episode with the diagnosis that she has PTSD.

I was really surprised that Stuart didn't call Chloe regarding Lois - but then 1) we don't know the nature of his agreement with Chloe, 2) if he knows Lois is her cousin or 3) if he'd have had a chance to do it.

Lois waits for Zod and he takes her truffle (not a metaphor) how cruel. I love her line about getting to prom in a tank! And way to go Lois - landing one on Tess. Just who does tess think she is with her "I'm this planets Savior" - has she taken a look at this new world she's been part of creating? It's funny because as I write this I'm struck by Tess' comments in past episodes when she alludes to Clark having to fulfil his destiny and save the planet (paraphrasing here) and didn't she say something to Zod in Kandor about him having to find The Blur's identity on his own so things can play out as they should (paraphrasing again) - unless I'm just making up elaborate pieces of dialogue in my head When Zod tells Lois that he's going to kill both her and Clark, Tess looks kind of shocked. Erica totally nails the scene and I love how she played that moment - her eyes watering. Way to go Ollie and Chloe with the perfectly timed rescue and the K/nite weapons is genius. But where's the rest of the JLA? Dead? I sort of forget in this timeline that Clark fell away from Ollie and Chloe due to Jimmy dying. I noticed Clark's hand on Lois' back this time. But the comment from ollie "Hello Legs" seems out of place, maybe because of how apt it was in Savior but here, nope don't get it. I loved the little look Chloe gave Clark when he says "I guess we owe you our lives". Alison was great in that scene.

I like that future Tess sort of sees the error of her ways...granted it's on her death bed, a day late and a dollar short - I don't think she would have defied Zod if she hadn't been hit and as I said earlier for the most part I felt nothing regarding Tess' death. I love to hate her, especially in this episode. I do feel for Ollie though, although why is he so cut up about it. Tess and he haven't seen eye to eye for a long while as far as I recall.

Tess is no longer synced with Lois, I guess the shock of ones own death does that and I wonder if present day Tess will now seriously rethink everything. My loathing for Tess is cranked up a notch when she seems to prefer Lois being catatonic that have those memories, she really is as ruthless as Lex, if not more so, shooting Stuart in the back. Tess then tries to blame Stuart for going rogue but Clark isn’t buying what she's selling and pushes her out of his way. He gets weakened by the K/nite and as he stumbles gets plugged into Lois (dirty!)

We are back in the future and I get confused again - Chloe appears to have the means to get rid of the red sun, restoring the yellow sun and with it Clark's powers...so why hasn't she used it before if she wanted to defeat Zod? I know it may not have worked but still it may not work now. And why is it such a big deal for Lois to know Clark's secret in the future? She'd possibly know it when she is back but in the grand scheme of things, everyone else knows.

Shhh, shirtless Clark

I've never been so engrossed watching a guy wash his face And in a separate matter - I now know why lois almost had her head chopped off - I was curious about that. It's a wonder Lois has been able to speak given how sexy Clark is.

I always though that Clark's decision to embrace Kal-El, to fulfil his destiny and isolate himself came from feeling guilty about jimmy's death because when he made the decision Lois had only been missing for a day or so, but this scene - Clark's words now and earlier give huge insight into his deepest feelings for Lois. He quite simply wouldn't be the same without her and it reminds me of the alternative universe in TNAoS when Lois met AU Clark who had never met his lois and was engaged to Lana and she wanted him to conceal his identity. Lois is able to nourish his hero persona - in this incarnation as the Blur. Twice Clark dodges questions about Zod from lois and unlike other characters, she doesn't pursue it any further - she drops it. "We could all die tomorrow" and if I thought I was gonna die the next day, I'd take a chance with Clark, especially after his "Lois I died when you left" which is music to her ears, the way she smiles hearing this validation of Clark's feelings for her. She's had them for a while and he's telling her he's dead without her. She places a hand on his chest, takes his other hand and says "I'm here now" and after missing her for a year and knowing he could potentially die the next day, Clark kisses her hungrily. She kisses back and somehow I forget to breathe as he's unbuttoning her shirt and they end up making love/having sex whatever you want to call it. And the music is amazing, that's not a metaphor btw. We see where lois' sex flashes came from and what order they were in.

The shot of Emil holding Clark's eyelid open sort of freaked me out because it looked like he wasn't breathing. Emil wants to pull Clark out and Chloe says "no" and I sort of agree with Chloe a little. They need to know this info, plus we'd not see the goodbye kiss.

And so now we know that when Alia said Clark would destroy their world in Savior she meant the one where they had powers on earth.

Green Arrow! I miss him.

Alia killed Chloe - I cried for Chloe and I sort of didn't expect to, but it was so sad. I've loved Chloe for the most part over the seasons and I hope she doesn't die in the alternative future. Alison nailed the scene and Erica's portrayal of lois in that moment made me cry harder. I'm recalling when Lois first appeared on our screen's looking for Chloe who was missing and presumed dead and I miss them not having much screen time together. I read somewhere someone critiquing Lois for staying behind the car instead of helping Chloe before she was killed but really Lois was in no real position to do anything against a Kandorian and the only hope for preventing this future was for Lois to go back.

I take it Ollie died when all the Kandorians flew in.

I absolutely hate the image of Clark being dragged through the street and love his defiance that humanity will never loose it's spirit. Zod is nuts if he thinks this is a better world. He kicks Clark and that had to hurt and suddenly Zod looks like he's ready to kill/hurt Lois but then the red sun is going and his face is priceless. Clark gets his powers, Zod stabs Clark with the K-knife (not a stutter) and I'm in tears again - poor Clark and such a traumatic trip for lois - is it this scene that gives her PTSD? Wellance nail this scene, from their tone of voice, to the delivery of the words, to their facial expressions. I've just changed this moment to my fave Clois scene. I paused my DVD player at 35:40 and could look at that all day. Lois is worried she will never see Clark again - he assures her that he will. He knows how he felt about lois around the time she went missing if not before that.

And here I get confused again!! The red sun is gone and with it Kandorian powers, so how come when Clark is putting the ring on Lois, Alia moves towards them at super speed? Or is that just my imagination?

Then we're back in present time, Clark is awake and Lois will be fine but her memories of the future gone.

Lois gets back out of hospital and Clark gives Lois a maple donut and Lois thinks she just had low blood sugar. If I were guaranteed flashes like Lois I'd let me blood sugar drop. I love Clark's wording in this scene, "I almost lost you once, I don't want to loose you again" has many meanings - Tess kidnapping Lois (she doesn't know about that), Lois passing out and Clark worrying, future Clark lost Lois or he's referring to her going missing in Failsday and he may have never seen her again (I think he means this last one). He finally bites the bullet and asks her what they are doing and she takes it to mean right now. I love that Clark seeing a future that Lois may not have been a part of has given him the last bit of courage to bring up the subject of "us" again and that he hasn't shied away from lois after her bolt/passing out and no matter what Lois says, Clark had something to say to reassure her and that's all she needed. And the hand holding!!

I thought that would be the episode over but it wasn't.

We discover Clark sent Lois 5 dozen roses - I wonder if this was before Tess stole her or after. And I love that Clark seems a bit relaxed, despite the Zod issue.

The final scene was very unexpected - kneel before Kal-El. It has a nice ring to it and oh how I would gladly do so.

It struck me somewhere through this episode that every Clois scene either involved direct body contact between Clark and Lois or else they were very much in each other's personal space. The hug in the barn, Clark's hand on Lois back at Luthor mansion, her hand on his chest, the kiss, the sleeping together, the goodbye kiss, when Clark comes to after seeing Lois' visions, in the bullpen Lois comments on how close Clark is and the hand holding. Not sure if that's on purpose or not.

What a fantastic way to set up the next portion of the season, but 2 months, really? How will I live!

I definitely don't have the time to read all those amazingly long but very old reviews.
