Hey guys. :) How are you doing? I'm doing well, dad is more alert now, walked to and from the bathroom this morning, instead of being wheeled there, only problem is it means he doesn't stop with talking which don't get me wrong isn't necessarily a bad thing, unless it's at night and mum's trying to sleep, he kept her up a lot because of it. But, besides that, we're starting to begin to get back to some sense of normality. We can't keep always doing what we've been doing and whilst I will be getting one more week off work, we hope that I can go back to work the week after. We're just hoping things continue to go on the up, as best as it can go. There are bound to be still bad days and better days and my mum and I aren't going to rest on our laurels and believe there won't be other blips. But I definitely in no way wanted to take the 12 weeks off work, think I'd end up going a little crazy, even when things at work had been stressful due to the job I do that involves contact with people. Dad also needs to learn to be left on his own for up to at least half hour at any one time, we can't always be with him 24/7 as mum had pointed out, and it's not as if he is living on his own. We know someone in town who's also in his 90's and living on his own. Dad is lucky in that respect.

I've got a whole afternoon free, and I finally feel like I can post a little.

Hi all  Hope everyone had a good weekend

livstevi21 05-19-2020 02:50 AM

Hey. :) Well, it's been three weeks since my dad had the fall. He's bruising has heeled. He's walking up and about more. Physically, besides showing signs of a little knee pain this morning he's much, much better.. mentally, however, it changes. It's still draining at times. Yesterday was difficult in more ways than one. Had a call from one of my managers at work to let me know one of my colleagues who I worked with quite a bit for some years before she went off sick before Christmas has passed away, so that was sad news. :(

I will be going back to work on Sunday. We have ordered masks. I may start wearing them at work. Got at least two months worth of gloves. It's not currently mandatory to wear masks here, but it's encouraged, especially on public transport.

Anyways, that's the update here. How are you guys doing? :)

Im glad your father is ok :)

Id wear the mask if you dont have a plastic screen in front of you when you need to serve and use cash .. even though we are not suppose to be using cash at all , i people here in Australia still do or just make sure there is 1.5 meters , unfortunately we have to go be the rules now , and this could go on for like over v12 months

i found out whatever you recieved from the Gov , you have to pay it back , so if anyone reads this , dont spend it , A friend of mine got 3 - 4 600 payments and found out she has to pay it back , just so everyone knows ok :) Thats just the Jobkeeper allowance .., not sure what everyone gets there /overseas :)

I'm sorry about your colleague.

scooty, I'm in the UK and I'm furloughed. I'm being paid 80% of my wages by the government. Luckily it doesn't need to be paid back as long as I continue not to do any work for my employer during this time. I'm sorry you need to pay your payments back.

scooty 05-23-2020 07:16 PM

Yeh Hi Sul

yeh it only if you work you have to pay back the money .. which sux , over here in Oz they dont tell you until you get the letter , so Kathy a friend of mine has to pay hers back , her boss paid al the workers 4K each for the month to live on until work commences next week :) but everyone is in debt now cause of this CV , we are all doing it tough , we are all tough we can get through this

Thanks guys. :)

Hey again. Things are a little busy here right now, but thought I'd drop by to say things are going well at the moment. Though I have gone back to work, went back on Sunday. We do have protective screens at the checkouts, though it's not much protection. Not one colleague is wearing a mask at the moment. But we are wearing gloves, and we constantly wash our hands and have proper hand sanitiser. It was very busy yesterday morning, more people around, tourists, despite nothing open, none of the small shops are open and neither are the public toilets, so some people have tried to use the supermarket ones without doing any shopping, we're refusing them entry if they're only coming in to use the bathroom. It makes no sense they're here.

Anyways, dad is well. Keeping going.
