Putting up this thread is probably one of the hardest things
I’ve had to do in a long time…

As some of you can probably tell, my work life & real life has become
EXTREMELY busy, and I have not been able to get on the boards to post
every single day, or even every other day, as is required when you
moderate a board.

As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 12 posts per day,
with lower numbers than that leading to warnings and then possible closure
of the board. The last year, due to the global pandemic, post counts have
been suspended. However, even with the year-long extension of post count
suspensions, the board is still not thriving very well & we have already been
in the “red” 3 times this year. This last week, we only had 52 posts for
the week-the lowest we’ve had in almost 2 years.



While I love this board so much, and have devoted almost 9 years as a
moderator here, if the post counts don’t pick back up in the next 2 weeks,
it might be time to say “good-bye” and to the end of an era. I do want to
hear from you all and to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see
for the future of the board. Will you miss the board if it closes?
What do y’all think? Let me know and I’ll make a final decision
at the end of June.

Jessica, I know that it was very difficult for you to post this. Maybe this will motivate some members to post here on a more regular basis. If not, you've been a terrific moderator here over the years and you've given this board the best chance you could.

I guess it's ultimately up to you. I do post on this board here and there. I think the only shows I watch on here are The Masked Singer, Survivor, and Big Brother. Since MS is off, not much to talk about anymore for me lol.

Yeah, it’s hard when shows are “off-season”, and there’s not much to talk about in-between the seasons. With Survivor finally coming back in the fall, I’d hate to not have that discussion thread to discuss the new season, but we could make a thread in the Television board.

Like I said, I’ll decide by the end of June and we’ll just see.

yeah I really only watch the masked singer now and that isnt on right now. I used to watch a few others but gave up on them. I totally understand your decision and its up to you if you want to close it. maybe someone will step up to mod it instead ?

Sorry to hear Jessica but if no one posts and the reality shows are on break it makes sense to go out on you’re terms rather then be forced to close.

It definitely doesn’t help that shows are taking longer and longer to put new seasons out and some productions are constantly being stopped because of COVID stuff

*UPDATE*

As it turns out, on August 1st, the Television Board & the Reality TV board will be combining. Jerry & the Management Team thought that this would be the best way to keep the board alive. I’ll be appointed the mod there, so I’ll still be there, but in the meanwhile, I’ll be combining and updating some threads here before they get moved to the other board, so don’t be surprised when you see changes on the board.

I am so glad to hear about the merge. I dont think reality tv needs its own board as there are not that many active threads. I think a lot can be combined. Perhaps doing it by channel or network.

I was thinking that. That’s something I’ll discuss with the other mods. For now, I was just gonna combine some TV shows into one thread under the umbrella of one franchise, i.e. The Bachelor Franchise.
