Blinded when he was a kid by a radioactive spill, his other senses become heightened, but he is still vulnerable to pain and injury, as seen when Claire finds him half-dead in the dumpster outside her apartment. ● ● ● theshippers; "She's the first person ever to know about him, the first person in his whole life that he can be himself with. When he's with Claire, Matt doesn't have to pretend anything. It's the first time ever he's been really vulnerable with another human being. He's completely exposed. That's massive. She help gets him patched up, and he begins to rely on her emotionally. He craves the opportunity to talk about who he truly is in front of someone, and she's someone he can talk about it with. He can gauge her opinion on what he's doing, which is important to him. It encourages him. Similarly, Claire is also kind of a bit of a lost soul, a loner who doesn't really fit into this world she's in. She's found many of the same comforts from being his friend as he does from her. It's not surprising that there's the inkling of a romantic relationship because when two people identify so much with one another , a romantic relationship is often formed."   "I think we can all agree that there was some s e r i o u s c h e m i s t r y between Matt and Claire but that’s what happens when you get two amazing actors like Rosario [Dawson] and Charlie [Cox]. I can't wait to start on binge-watching The Defenders but just for my sanity, I won't expect a lot of Matt & Claire scenes.

I'm kind of glad the show didn't dwell on Matt/Claire being together or how that would make it awkward for both Luke & Matt. Technically, DD S1 is a long time ago and both of them have moved on.

I hope DD S3 as well assuming Claire will still be around. She has to be after the events of what happened in The Defenders. Amongst all the shows, I think that show will heavily influence the events that will happen in DD S3.

I kind of feel that after watching The Defenders, they are in a good place now. They won't get back together anytime but I'm glad that they're friends.

Yeah and I think they both know that it probably won't work out between them. I like Luke/Claire and Matt/life right now.
