I know! that scene seemed like for a brief moment that probably so but than we didn't get much after.

S5 was kinda like an alternate universe, you'd think that when they had Connor removed from their memories, their relationship & that they used to be in love was taken away too

^ I completely agree... everything was odd, even Gunn wasn't truly himself for me until the "Underneath" episode or so.

I even just rewatched "Sacrifice" and I loved their scenes in it! I totally forgot about their scenes in the episode. I disliked Fred telling Gunn how he doesn't care and Gunn retort about bringing back up the Professor... it was an important scene because obviously that was the start of their relationship getting messed up a bit.
