I think cause he resigned himself that she didn't see him that way that he didn't really look for it. He knew she was dating Knox, and it took the wind out of him when he THOUGHT she was confessing to him about her feelings for him, but it turned out to be Knox. I think he was afraid to get his hopes up and figured he'd keep her friendship - remember his father pretty much treated him as nothing, so he believed it.
 Loved how tender he was with her in AWITW ... he didn't have to hide anymore or hold himself back. He could be boyfriend Wesley.__________________

- love that!And Fred was relieved that he finally GOT IT!  ...Love how they were in AWITW ... even though it was tragic, I loved seeing them "together" ... the way he held her in the lab. Just amazing. __________________
