& it made things a lot more complicated for him, as he couldn't kill her this time

It did! It really was a genius move by the writers, because it really got to Angel, while adding to his history & giving us so many amazing scenes!

Yes! the history made it more believable and those flashbacks were amazing! You could see why she had such power over him.
