I loved seeing how much Wes continued growing... to how he got disrespected on the Buffy series, to Graduation episode of him helping the Scobbies and leaving the Watchers Council to season 1 of this series! There goes some great progress.

You've summed up how I feel about a lot of ships there too, I think that's why I tend to like the relationships that come on later in the series... even though they're the ones that get screwed over most of the time

I know because a lot of these writers are way too set in their ways that a pairing from season 1 is the couple that should end up together which is what I actually find very unrealistic.

Sometimes characters grow up and change.... so it's ridiculous.

It is, it's funny - but not surprising - that writers write way better relationships when they're just trying to think about the characters & let that relationship develop naturally, instead of thinking 'this has to be the best, relationship ever, they're just meant to be from the beginning and that's pretty much the whole story'

Darla explaining to Angelus that his father defeat of him will last a life time.

His death means nothing...

This scene actually shows how much Darla influenced the way Angelus started doing things different.

At first he'd just go for the kill and eventually he learn to keep people around to live to suffer and not just kill them right away.
