It really does...

TFTNT! :yay:

What did you think about OMWF?

ashleyt 10-30-2008 11:14 AM

I  OMWF. I had it on tape until I bought the first season and I know all the songs. Sometimes when I'm doing the dishes I sing Going through the motions or Let me rest in peace.

Burning Up A Sun 10-30-2008 11:26 AM

 I love the episode too.

I used to listen to the soundtrack all the time. I love Rest in Peace and Walk Through the Fire. I remember when the episode first aired I wanted someone to make the soundtrack into a CD and someone did on Ebay and I bought it from them. :lmao:

ashleyt 10-30-2008 11:32 AM

I never had the soundtrack but I know the lyrics for all the songs.

I really like that Parking ticket song too

Burning Up A Sun 10-30-2008 11:43 AM

You never bought it when it came out on a CD? I have that and the little book with the sheet music. :lmao:

I liked that one too. "Hey I'm not wearing underwear." :lmao:

ashleyt 10-30-2008 08:48 PM

That and the mustard song

After that, my second favourite episode is Tabula Rasa. It was so funny.

Burning Up A Sun 10-30-2008 09:31 PM

The mustard song makes me laugh and even more so when you see it in the episode. All that dancing and flipping. :lmao:

Tabula Rasa is hilarious. I love everything about that episode. Plus Anya and Giles were so brilliant together. And everyone calling Xander Alex.

"Send out Spike."
"They seem to want spikes." :lmao:

"I'm called Rupert Giles."

SPIKE: Oh, listen to Mary Poppins. He's got his crust all stiff and upper with that nancy-boy accent. (everyone looking at him) You Englishmen are always so... (pauses) Bloody hell! (ticks off on his fingers) Sodding, blimey, shagging, knickers, bollocks, oh God! I'm English!
GILES: (puts glasses on) Welcome to the nancy tribe.
SPIKE: You don't suppose you and I ... we're not related, are we?
ANYA: There is a ruggedly handsome resemblance.

SPIKE: Oh, great, a tarty stepmom who's half old Daddy's age.

SPIKE: 'Made with care for Randy.' (looks at Giles angrily) Randy Giles? Why not just call me 'Horny Giles,' or 'Desperate for a Shag Giles'? I knew there was a reason I hated you!

GILES: Um, son. (Spike stops) Come here. Um, please.
SPIKE: Um...
GILES: Yes, um...

Spike goes over to Giles and they hug awkwardly, then Spike pushes Giles away.

SPIKE: Right.
GILES: Good, then

SPIKE: I must be a noble vampire. (Buffy looks dubious) A good guy. On a mission of redemption. I help the hopeless. (chuckles) I'm a vampire with a soul.
BUFFY: (frowning) A vampire with a soul? (beat) Oh my god, how lame is that

WILLOW: And I think I'm kinda gay

Burning Up A Sun 11-17-2008 10:04 AM

GILES: Um, son. (Spike stops) Come here. Um, please.
SPIKE: Um...
GILES: Yes, um...

Spike goes over to Giles and they hug awkwardly, then Spike pushes Giles away.

SPIKE: Right.
GILES: Good, then

Love that part so much. :lmao: The hug makes me laugh every time.

And Spike's bit about being a noble vampire. :rotfl: A vampire with a soul? Oh my god, how lame is that? :lmao:

Giles and Spike had a very special Englishmen relationship

I didn't like that Giles left in S6 :pout: But I think the theme of growing up wouldn't have worked as well with their "dad" still there.

Burning Up A Sun 11-17-2008 03:02 PM

They did. They probably bonded when Spike was living with him.

I don't like that Giles left either. It wouldn't have worked as well, but people "grow up" with their parents still there. Giles could have been there with a disappointed look and a head shake every time they all did something wrong.

ashleyt 11-17-2008 03:17 PM

People grow up with their parents but usually that happens when they move away  Giles was also answer guy, it was great to see the group have to deal with the big bad (even their personal big bads) alone.

And it made for an interesting power struggle in S7 when Giles came back.

Burning Up A Sun 11-17-2008 03:26 PM

Well they did move away for a bit. But it just didn't help that Giles owned the shop where they worked or hung out. :lmao:

But yes it was nice to see them struggle to be adults and grow up and handle decisions and finances and their personal lives.

Definitely didn't like Giles in season 7.

ashleyt 11-17-2008 03:28 PM

I think the characterization of him was horrible in S7. It's like they didn't care about Giles or Willow and Xander much in that season.
