Oh I wanted to remember their first kiss.

When reading the old post, I do recall that when they first met i thought that Riley think Buffy was shallow or something like that, he was more interested in other topics, talking with Willow about Psicology and all that. But never believe he had any interest in Willow.
My guess was he thought that Buffy was a silly blond girl, and he wasn't into them that's for sure.

I've just finished watching 'Into the woods' .... I remember the first time I saw it I was so saddd ... it's sadd how Buffy's stubbornness let Riley goo.. I remember I was like , she will arrive on time.. she has too.

I was devastated when he didn't see her. .. well to a less degree. It happened again. Sad to watch him go

I finished watching Season 5... did you notice that Buffy almost in every episode mentions the loss of Riley ?? She was fighting her coldness in life in general and how everything beautiful in her life had gone.

It was tough to see Buffy's mother death again also. Those eps were so well written.

I enjoy some of their episodes and scenes too, and I appreciate that at least for a while he brought some element of normalcy in to Buffy's life. A boyfriend she could do normal, regular things with. She deserved and needed that, even though I think it was always doomed to fail, for the reasons Spike cited to Riley in Into The Woods. Riley screwed up too, but he was totally in love with her and was a good guy. I'm glad they got closure in S6.

I think Riley character and Buffy/Riley's relationship was always going to be taken badly by the critics and fans because it happened right after Buffy/Angel.

I'm glad they got closure during Season 6 as well. I think Riley was the safe relationship for Buffy, she never fell deeply in love with him because he was rebound after Angel however, she did fall deeply in like with him and gave him everything she could at the time.

I don't get why they were so hated either. It was never going to work out for them, but Riley did give Buffy something stable & easy at a time when she really needed it - & she really changed him too, she inspired him to be a lot braver & stronger. It didn't end well, but they were good for each other for a time & learnt a lot from their relationship & in the end, they still had a lot of repsect for each other. Not a bad relationship if you ask me.
