Faith on Buffy or Faith on Angel?

Which version of Faith do you like?

I believe there are two different Faiths. The writers on Angel rocked season 4 (haven't seen 5 yet... its the last I hear) and I think they handled Faith's character very well.

But when Faith went to Sunnydale... I'm like what? The smoking? The butchness... I mean, come on. How CLICHE was that?

It's not that Faith is a dark character (she is though) and Buffy is a bubbly comedy type of show, it's just the writers didn't do well with her... I mean, she was cool season 3 and even in season 4 but season 7...

It's the smoking that made be make this topic. I hated that she smoked...

I thought she rocked, that's all. She was tough, and "bad" but I liked her.

I agree. I didn't like Faith in S7 either. I don't watch Angel so I'm not sure how she was like on that show but it had to have been a whole lot better than what we got in Season 7. I especially hated that it looked like for a while she was gonna hook up with Spike. Damn girl, stop getting Buffy's sloppy seconds. Plus, not every damn girl is attracted to Spike. I'm sure not!

I agree that they portray Faith differently on Angel and on Buffy. I love either way though. She helped take both of the shows to the top. Neither would be the same without her character. If I had to choose though I would say that I prefer her personality on Angel.

I think the differences might have to do with the fact that Angel excepted her while Buffy was always judging everything she did and would never let her forget about her past. She was always throwing it back in Faiths face.

The three S4 Angel episodes that she appeared in were fantastic. I agree with Seremela, though: on AtS, Faith was working with people who accepted her (well, other than Cordelia) and even liked her, and she felt a strong personal stake in saving Angel. It didn't hurt that the writers put her front and center in all three episodes.

On BtVS, she was only one in a huge mob of characters that the writers had already lost control of. With so many faces on screen, she got dumbed down and regressed and contributed very little of substance. It's a shame, really, because she's a great character and there's a lot they could have done with her if they hadn't been wasting time with Andrew, Robin Wood and the Potentials. I did like her scene with Spike in the basement in Dirty Girls, though - I thought it was very funny, even more so after Buffy showed up.

Faith's arc on Angel in S4 did rock... I don't know if it was better than Faith's entire S3 Buffy arc though.

I was only comparing AtS S4 Faith and BtVS S7 Faith. Since they were both supposed to be the same post-jail, seeking redemption character.

BtVS S3 Faith was excellent, but she was a very different person.

I don't like Faith at all...IMHO She was a bitca to everyone who tried to help her. She always whined about how hard her life was, everyone has a hard time too, they just don't whine about it so much.

Faith on BTVS or Faith on ATS? How about neither? I can't stand Faith no matter which show she's on.

I agree with you there. She was completely wasted on Buffy in season seven. They took a great character and just tossed away a good opportunity. But season seven was a mess to me anyway. I did like her Angel appearance, though, and loved the very first episodes of Angel she guest starred in - "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary".

Faith was easily one of the best characters to be dreamed up on Buffy, IMO. And Eliza one of the best actresses.

Hey, you're entitled to your opinion.

Faith was good on "Angel". I did wished that it had been Faith who destroyed The Beast.

They took her to a different level on Angel. Her torture scene with Wes was classic and she really meshed with the cast last season.
As much as I looked forward to it, Faith's appearnance on Buffy last year didn't do a lot for me.

I love Faith on both shows but I liked her better on Angel.
