I guess I mean focus. Attention to detail and continuity. Character development that doesn't contradict character traits. Stories that can suspend disbelief without taking insurmountable leaps in logic.

Joss usually did pretty well with h. Sure, he messed up in some places (the AR), but not more than most show bosses. I mean, look at X-Files, where Scully spends years refusing to believe in the supernatural despite endless evidence for it. And you're not supposed to think she's s dumb as a post. Really bad writing.
