24 - Possible Board Closure Discussion: Please Read and Respond!

Hello, all of you, myself: Tia (eternal◘fate) and my co-mod Tim (Almeida's Army) have been discussing this, and we think that it may be time to close this board. Our post counts have been declining over the past few months and we have very few regular posters. As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 15 posts per day, with lower numbers than that leading to warnings and then possible closure of the board. We would prefer to go out under our own terms rather than be forced to close due to low post counts.

Please let us know what you think. We'd be glad to hear any suggestions or advice to renew interest here. Remember that to keep the board going, we need the commitment of a few regular, dedicated posters. As much as we love this board, please don't just post to "save" the board and then disappear again, because we'll be in the same position that we're in now if you do.

Recently 24: Legacy has came on air, and myself and Tim wanted to at least make this board be safe until than to see if the traffic would increase, however, even that has not drawn any traffic whatsoever. It's regularly myself, Tim and help from other posters by requesting posting help, and it's been like this for years. So, we do not want to close the board if it's still potential, seeing as how 24: Legacy is currently airing, however, if there aren't enough people to post, we'll be forced to shut it down on our own terms instead of a low post count. So, we would love to get everyone's thoughts. Please Respond to this.

Seem not much activity, guess not much enthusiasm to keep the board opened.

I'll see what happens in the next 2 days.

Hopefully people can come by and give their input.

I was thinking that too... The lack of response is pretty loud tbh... Maybe some posters will show up in the next few days...

Yeah I know.

Sadly it seems like closing the board might be the best way to go since no one cares to really post here anymore.

I'll miss this board but yeah it seems it's time has passed.

Sad to think 6 years ago this same topic came up . In fact I got a "warning " about attacking a poster. Back then it was a very emotional thought to close the board .

I have seen the decline in the postings here and happy to see it still remained opened,without a 24 series going on. Sorry I haven't been around to post more
Tia /Tim you've kept the board alive and going for all these years. For that i am grateful .
Even with the new 24 on , as you said , hasnt increased any postings.

Sadly it may be time to close 24 for good

I support any decision made

^ Matt, I completely agree with you.

I was a part of that decision, we both knew it was the right time to close the board and a lot of people were against it.

But of course eventually the board eventually returned to the slow and low traffic.

I love this board so much, this is the board that made me mod and I had my first co-mod EVER in Matt.

So, this one hurts but it's best for it to close this way.

I wish the new series brought more fans but I feel as the social media sites like twitter, facebook or even tumblr gets bigger, people prefer to chat about the show on those sites than on

So, I'll miss the board but who knows, in the future, if the 24: Legacy series is still out and running, maybe it'll draw enough support and activity to bring the board back out.

My former board I was a mod on ,criminal minds ,had the same issue but only due to there was no regular moderator . Post # where just over 500 a month .
We found a moderator and possibly a second one, so it lives .

Tia you and I are inseparable on

. 24 was my first mod spot !! Dam we had some good months to go with some crazy 24 seasons !

^ Agreed, and I have to admit I am a little sad.

I did love this board so much and I feel I gave my all...

I just wish people cared to post here more.

But it's only so much I can do. Going to be hard to cut ties with this board.

Aww, this is very sad to hear, especially about my favorite TV show, and one of my favorite boards here (although I have been terrible about supporting it), but I completely understand the decision to close the board.

Tia and Tim, you both have done an EXCELLENT job in keeping this board alive for a very long time. And, Matt, you were always a constant here. You all did the very best that you could and more. Be very proud of that.
