Sometimes ... on some shows I watch, other character besides the main has close friendships as well....

Chloe/Edgar could've been that, if Edgar lived...

Yeah but the show revolves around the central characters therefore that character is more-often-than-not going to be the main focus of the friendships. Jack in 24, Michael/Lincoln in Prison Break, Jack in LOST, The Doctor in Doctor Who, Denny/Alan in Boston Legal- the one or two main characters are usually the main focus of the main friendships. Of course there will be others- Chloe/Edgar like you said, David/Wayne, Chloe/Michelle- even Tony/Mason- but the main character, in this instance Jack, is normally part of the really big friendships because he has more screentime to build such friendships

Well on Lost, Jack friendships wasn't my favorites... it was other friends on the show like Kate/Claire... it was so many other ones, everyone didn't involve around Jack. Although he was the Doctor, the one who kind of helped everyone out. lol So everyone respected him.

Jack/David friendship was at his highest peak during Day 2.
Loved re-watching episode 2x09 yesterday, powerful scene between them.

They may not be the fan favourite friendships but they are the main focus, due to the increased screentime

It sure was, one of Dennis best acted scenes on the show. You know how difficult it was for David to make a choice like that, even though Jack was convincing him that he made the right call.
