Reasons We Love him
1. Because him and Chloe are an awesome team
2. He backs Jack in a crisis
3. He has a photo-genic memory
4. He tells Chloe 3. this every other day.
5. His mother died and yet he carried on working
6. He stopped all bar one of the nuclear reactors from melting down
7. His death was so tragic that Jon Cassar still has the bruises from his wife after killing him
8. He never took a psychology class
9. Chloe had to do his work for the first two weeks because he was too nervous
10. He went against Driscoll, risking his job and jail, because it was the right thing to do.
11. His death was probably the saddest in the shows history
12. Because he is a geek and a good guy

Louis Lombardi [On the producers of '24' informing him of his character's demise a shortly before filming it] "They said, 'Hey, can we talk to you a minute?' and I knew right then and there by the tone of their voices. When I heard, it was pretty shocking to me. They said, 'The good news is you`re one of the most-loved characters on the show. The bad news is we have to shock the audience.'"

Lombardi says of Edgar's death scene. "It's kind of sad and frustrating. This has been the best experience I've ever had . . . and I don't really want to go. But I'm glad Edgar didn't go out with gunfire or by being killed by someone. That would've cheapened it and wouldn't have been as powerful as him dying on his own. Kiefer said to me, 'Louie, this is one of the best scenes we've ever shot.' I think it's going to touch so many people."
