I did start watching The Night Of, which is very very good, albeit a slow burn kind of show, but one episode a week leaves me wanting more so I'll probably wait until it's over and binge... and kick myself for it right after when I have nothing to watch again
I watched first 2 eps. Reminded me of True Detective for some reason. First episode was really predictable, second one was about nothing.

The first couple of seasons were fun, despite some of the acting being very bad
I think "so bad it's good" was done on purpose, but yeah...

Yeah In Treatment is amazing.
So original and well thought of! Not to mention most of the cast is brilliant.

It's strange that he stopped caring for Alex after her death... Like, what about killer? Shouldn't he comeback? Many questions.
  I thought they'd pop up in the finale. Well, I already knew what big drama was going on in the finale but I thought for sure that would come up too. :look:

Wanted to watch Mr. Robot, but looks like it's already went downhill.
Oh **** yeah  I loved the pilot and the next 2 episodes were great and then it went to **** and that's when people started thinking it was awesome :look:

Season one of In Treatment was incredible. Loved all of the storylines (except maybe the pilot)
Not a fan of that storyline either but I guess it ties it all up.

I just liked the unexplored realism to the situation. Most people would like to think they would be smarter than the protagonist if they were in that situation but they are deluding themselves. The justice system has little to do with justice these days. I just like the thorough look.

For some characters maybe. But watching Vampire Bill try to act is almost physically painful

Well, the story itself is not really original. I could easily predict what's going to happen next during first episode. Didn't live up to the hype for me definitely. I don't know about watching futher.
What happened in In Treatment pilot? Don't really remember. Mellisa George?

First ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Footage Shown, Premiere Date Announced | TVLine

First trailer and release date of Gilmore Girls. Perfect. So happy!

Oh I know it's not trying to be original and it's not a twist-bonanza kind of show which is fine by me. Most shows that people find unpredictable, I already know where they are going. I'm rarely surprised by twists so I'm looking for more substantial tv. This seems to be a more thorough look at the "justice" system and all its pitfalls than I've seen elsewhere so I'll stick with it.

Ugh. Yeah. I never liked her in anything and In Treatment is no exception. And the storyline is kinda boring too.

Happy for you, Ingmar.

Now if Bryan Fuller could stop shoring up new projects and work with Netflix to finish Pushing Daisies, I'd be over the moon

Most of in treatment stories were actually... Hmm, very common, but still interesting. I just wondering what make you both guys dislike pilot so much, her story about father or her being in love with Paul. I think the way her father story ended was good and how delusional she actually was about all of it. Though, some people have their own opinion on this. Like some actually believe her father lied that he knew about it all, as she suggested.
Speaking about how system actually works... Well OITNB just had an episode about it and many other shows, so IDK. I've read about how shocking and twisting the show is but it's not really. It's like a less interesting "Killing".
Always found leads in GG unbearable. And they put this Alexa or whatever actress in ER finale, lol. Overall it was nice, love how people pretends that they are outrage Mellissa is not in it when she was barely a character.

No big surprise, I guess, but you're right they are interesting. I think it's just the way the characters are revealed little by little, through dialog that can sometimes feel random. We get glimpses of who they are and what led them there.

As I say, I've disliked the actress forever so she's not a winner for me already, but I think it's just so heavy handed compared to the other stories, it feels jarring.

I like that they don't give us a straight answer on this. At least I don't think they do.

It does remind me of the Killing too, but I enjoy it so far. I would like more character development though.

Yeah they couldn't afford her these days anyway, not for a tertiary character.

ERussia 07-29-2016 04:20 PM

EHHH, absolutely nothing to watch.

Gelfling 07-30-2016 08:11 PM

 I know the feeling

I have so little to watch that I am currently watching Star Trek Voyager and I don't even like it that much

I did start Devious Maids and it's better than I expected. I never liked Desperate Housewives so I was a little reticent to try it because everyone kept saying it was like Desperate Housewives's earlier seasons before it got so dramatic and well, it's a fun unpretentious show with a good cast.

There are characters I don't like much but that's the price to pay for a decent summer pop-corn hour, I don't mind.

I can't remember if we talked about Jessica Jones :look: (I'm old )

I've been watching the SDCC panels (whatever's watchable anyway, which means the Orphan Black panel basically ) and Luke Cage is coming up. I'm curious to see what they do with it.

Oh and since we're talking about Orphan Black and SDCC, yearly PG bloopers are out :D and they're are even funnier than last season's

ERussia 07-31-2016 08:53 AM

Jessica Jones is amazing, except few final episodes. Much better than DD. IF and Luke Cage are coming soon.
Devious Maids... Well, I don't think they have anything in common with DH. DH was so much better. DM reminds me of USA version of Mistresses. Very generic.

EndlessღLove 07-31-2016 02:55 PM

I watched Stranger Things! :thud: It has "David Lynch, Stephen King and Steven Spielberg" written all over it. Loved it! And the kids! I'm honestly in awe. Amazing job.

Thank you! I'm not alone
The ending was a total letdown because they stretched it way too long to keep Kilgrave on and have Tennant around but he should have stayed more enigmatic. Too much of him killed the tension. And she has 2000 opportunities to take him out so when she finally did, it was like "finally!" but not very rewarding

And Ugh Daredevil! It was my favorite comic book growing up and the movie was all kinds of  (I mean... Ben Affleck, come on!) and I was pretty happy when I heard they were doing a Netflix show and I liked the cast but it turned out so boring. The whole season feels like a lame video game.
Blahblahblahblah. Identify villain of the week. Boss Battle. Neutralize Villain of the week. Move on to the next boss

And all this fake profound talk about inner demons... and he acts like a boy scout the whole way  Meh

Never really like Iron Fist but I'll give the show a chance. I liked Cage in JJ so I'll definitely watch that. And if it's lame, well, at least there's a decent chance for eye candy  :D

I tried mistresses but it was so soapy, I couldn't bear it
DH takes a more sarcastic telenovela tone which makes it watchable. But you're right, it's probably just because I have nothing to watch

I really tried but I couldnt get into it. The kids were alright but the story and the setting. Meh.

Must have been why I hated it  Lynch, King and Spielberg, are my unholy trinity of overhyped marketing tools :P
Plus Winona Ryder. Oh boy. You'd think all this time in the industry would have taught her to act but no. And the forced 80ies references are pretty boring for me, I lived through that ridiculous era, I don't need it on my tv

A lot of people actually enjoyed it way more than DD. Second season of DD was better than first one but it was ruined by finale episodes and I found Punisher character very cartoonish. First one was just boring.
My main "problem"with JJ was that episode when this crazy girl beat her with some thing and she lost her consciousness lol. I don't remember corectly what happened there but it was after she and other people decided JJ was the one to blame for everything happened with them. I was like "didn't she easily survived a gun shot few eps ago?" lol. Tennant never really bothered me, actually both him and Ritter surprised me with their acting in a good way. Well, yeah, she could've killed him before but she wanted to save that girl, so...
I agree about both DH and DM lloking like they are taking more sarcastic tone than other soaps. But watching new DM episodes here and there I think they totally lost it and now I'm not sure they ever had it. DH just became basic with years.
I wanted to watch Stranger Things and then I read about that main character has a 12 y.o son and... I decided not to. Not here for all these basic teenage stories.

ERussia 07-31-2016 07:20 PM

By the way Luke Cage actor was on TGW! I don't know about watching it tbh. He was too slow in JJ. Though, it's the point of his character, I think he is a good actor.

It has some Twin Peak vibes, I dig it :love: Plus I've heard David Lynch might get his hands on it for the finale, I can't wait!
I really liked how they connected all the characters as the story unfolds and I'm not a big sci-fi fan so maybe that's why I didn't find all those references as a cliché.
