Didn't think I'd be saying this, but I kind of liked the finale...Alicia getting emotional closure with Will in the best conceivable way they could have done it, and in the end, having that Scarlett O'Hara..."Tomorrow will be another day.".....moment.
One sad thing was Diane and Kurt. Don't see why doing that to Diane was necessary. I haven't been a frequent contributor but I will miss the forum. You were here when I needed celebration, solace, or a reality check. Thank you. |

Bwahahaha! I loved that ending. Well, should have been Kalinda, but whatever. I'll live with Diane giving Alicia what she so richly deserved.
As far as tv show endings go, it's pretty much a slap in the face of the fans but hey, what else is new? I just wish they hadnt ****ed up D/K for some bit of pointless "symmetrical" shocker of an ending. Oh well. We should change the picture to a gif of that scene. Pretty fitting. Quote:

That ending was right up the Kings' alley. A callback with no fulfillment

They just wanted "symmetry" for the sake of it but it made so little sense, they had to fabricate a plot in the very last episode to justify the scene

Still, that's the image I'll keep of Alicia And I know it's because I'm not a fan anymore, and since the demise of Alicia is the reason why, I guess *that* is full circle, Kings __________________

It's indeed a full circle.I haven't watched the whole episode yet. It's not happy ending, but it's powerful. Why should the one who slapped her is Peter or the kids?
The title of The Good Wife is suppose to be a commendatory term, however it costs her much, became a shackles and responsibility to her.She lost everyting eventually ,everyone and stuck in the full circle.I think maybe it's what the writers want to tell us in the beginning. Quote:

Comments written as I watched:
Bravo Luca! And Grace, putting it right back on Alicia with the talk about her future. Loved the demure smile. Half way through and I am so liking this episode. Though unlikely, it would be nice to see Kalinda. Holy Cow. The stuff with Diane/Alicia/ Kurt, Did not see that coming. Exciting episode thus far. Perfecto! Despite the slap from Diane I liked the ending and the episode. It was great hanging out here during the run of this series. Maybe we'll meet again in another series...lol...or when they do a reunion show of this one or maybe a follow-up. They sure left the door open! BTW Christine Baranski appears in the season finale of The Big Bang Theory this Thursday. |

My final thoughts.
I'm disgusted by Will appearance. I was like am I watching some type of CW show or some serious drama? They didn't even try to hide it in flashback or a dream, like, the hell? I understand that Will had fans and they probably were happy to see him, I understand that even highly acclaimed shows like The Sopranos went supernatural route, but I never expect for TGW to stoop this low. What I like about it is that it never really jumped the shark in terms of... reality, except for time when Peter decided to be a president, but he quickly got a reality check. Other parts of episode were okay and would've been better if they spent less time on Willicia. I like ending. It's a very open ending, but not Sopranos type of open, more like Mad Man. |

I was happy to see Will, but I can understand others feeling shortchanged by the finale. I actually thought Cary's conclusion was the weakest- he suddenly finds his love of teaching? Please.
I didn't mind Alicia getting slapped, and I do agree she's become less innocent, but I thought she was also right to put Peter's freedom ahead of Diane's personal life. I agree it was a shame to do that to Diane and Kurt at this late stage. But then, what do the writers have if not a total disregard for the feelings of the fans? I thought having Will appear in all those fantasy sequences showed that they made the wrong step when they killed him off- because Josh would have come back anyway and they could have had an emotionally satisfying finale. Everything since his death, and Kalinda leaving has just been re-heated leftovers. I'm not really clear on where Alicia will go next- I hope letting go of Peter's hand actually meant something, but that she won't spend her life chasing after imaginary Jasons/ Wills. __________________

This was a great episode, but a lackluster series finale. Since there was no proper closure for any of the characters (other than Will I guess), this could have been the last episode of a show that was suddenly cancelled. They spent too much time earlier in the season for plotlines which I cannot even recall rigth now.
By proper closure I don't mean a sugar coated ending, but don't even get me started on characters like Diane, Cary and how they've been treated not just in this episode but all season long... Cosh. Quote:

I thought the slap was well deserved I was hoping for more of a finale but not necessarily a happy ending. I actually thought Alicia would stay with Peter Jason disappearing didn't really make sense.
