I'm getting the feeling that they are not planning a big budget for this, as it is for a digital service and they haven't seemingly signed many other stars.

Well at least that's good. We might even see some Diane in that show

Which is a shame when I read about how few female led new shows CBS are releasing, Christine deserves network time!

She deserves cable time. Network is not a good fit for great actresses.

It does make one wonder about leaving Diane and Alicia on the outs... did they perhaps want to make it a smidge more believable when she's (JM that is) not in the new series, even as a guest star? I would love to know what the behind the scenes feelings on this were.

as always with TGW, there's this creeping shadow of what's going on behind the scene influencing what's going on in front of the camera.

I don't know if they'll have enough money to hire the same department heads. Dan Lawson and Beth K. are probably too expensive for them.

I'm just wondering how they'd manage to write a full show without the political filler. They'd have to step up the scripts.

Well since she won't be the lead, at least I hope she gets something good to do.

I don't really see her interested in that job though. She's a bit too idealistic about the law.

We will probably get a storyline, that goes like this - Diane mentors her new pupil -> pupil outgrows her -> there is tension -> pupil strikes on her own. So basically Alicia 2.0. I just don't get why she's not the lead, how did they get Christine to agree to this?

I've had a theory for years that she has a limited contract with the show. I don't think she wanted to be the lead, and they didn't want it either so it worked fine for them.

She doesn't live in NYC. The more scenes she has, the more time she has to spend away from home.

They just used her name to get the hype going, and to be able to call it a "TGW spinoff" with a lead that was never in TGW

Maybe they'll have her run for office? That would limit her scenes and that would be different of Diane.

Well I'm sure she doesn't stay in a hotel whenever she comes to work but I believe she lives in Connecticut. At least she used to when her husband was alive but it's still showing up in her name.
