Anyway, I'm back from the family picnic and it turns out that my sister showed up with her boyfriend! So I've met him now and so has Dad, but Mom hasn't met him yet. Good thing I nonchalantly took some pictures with my phone of him with and without my sister ;) Also I learned something new... he has a 2-year-old son. Not sure if Mom knows, but Dad mentioned it to his brother after no one but it was us 3 around ;)

My broter dates a girl who has a 5 year old. That took some adjusments and my Dad was not happy he didn't tell him right away.

Yeah, the verdict all around was that he's nice. He was patient with my cousin Gabe's older son Jacob when he was explaining all of these bracelets he has that are in different shapes and all that. Very respectful, etc. Kinda soft, too, if you get what I mean? I got some pics, too, on my phone, hehe. I think Dad said he is 23 (so about my age since that's how old I'm turning on the 19th). My sister is 20 and her birthday is in December.

This guy sounds sweet. It's not always easy to remain objective with your little sister's boyfriends though. My sister got her heart broken recently and she was talking to me and I was biting my lips not to say "I told you so". We had had words about the guy, nothing too bad, but I don't like being the bad cop and I like to think people can surprise me even when I think they are idiots.

Turns out he was not much of a surprise after all. He dumped her by text! :sigh:

It was decently sized. There was me, my dad, my dad's brother (so my uncle), my dad's brother's wife (so my aunt), three of their four adult sons (so my cousins... the one that wasn't there just moved to Kentucky with his wife and their four kids like a week ago; I'm pretty close with this segment of the family because when I was in college, they lived in a city about half an hour away), the wife of one of my cousins (BTW, the oldest one and the youngest one are married, but only the youngest one -- that's Gabe -- had his wife there because the oldest one's wife had her brother visiting), Gabe and his wife's three kids (the eldest born out of wedlock, BTW.. and the youngest is 8 weeks old.. the middle one is a girl, but the other two are boys), my grandma (who I call Mom-Mom even though she's my dad's mom), my grandma's younger sister (so my great aunt), and her husband (so that's my great uncle). Plus my sister and her boyfriend who came later.

All in all, 16 people including myself after my sister and her boyfriend showed up. Also it was the birthday of my middle cousin, so that was the celebration. He turned 36. (Not to mention that my great aunt and great uncle were visiting from Jersey. They hadn't come up to visit Mom-Mom since she had moved up to NY for part of the year. Before moving up to NY for part of the year a few years back, she lived in Florida year-round, which is why my cousins call our grandma Gif. But apparently after Dad sells his house, she'll get rid of where she's staying in NY -- an apartment complex for seniors -- and the two of them will live in Florida year-round.) My youngest cousin is 32 and my oldest cousin is 39. The cousin that was not present is 34 and had his birthday a couple days ago.

Damn!! Love the title wished I coudl have been here to provide some spanish!!! maybe next time???

My day was lovely. As mentioned above, I met my sister's boyfriend at the family picnic from this afternoon! And had fun catching up with all the relatives I hadn't seen in quite some time ;) How was the BBQ you went to?
