'Star Trek,' 'Lord of the Rings' stars booked for Wisconsin Comic Convention

Milwaukee's had comic conventions before, but the Wisconsin Comic Convention is beamed up to a different level.
Organized by Imaginarium Agency, which has put on similar pop-culture fan confabs in Detroit, Atlanta, Indianapolis and other places, Wisconsin Comic Con is scheduled to run June 28-30 — during Summerfest 2019's first weekend — at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Posted earlier this year, Imaginarium's website for Wisconsin Comic Convention (wisconsincomicconvention.com) boasts a pretty impressive guest list.
The top name on the list? Nichelle Nichols, original "Star Trek's" Lt. Uhura and a TV pioneer.
Based on the posted list of guests, just about every other pop-culture cult franchise will be represented at the three-day event, too. Among them:
Sean Astin, Samwise Gamgee in the "Lord of the Rings" movies, and part of such cultural touchstones as "Rudy" and "The Goonies"
Ray Park, Darth Maul from the first "Star Wars" prequel
Cary Elwes, the Dread Pirate Roberts from "The Princess Bride"
Adam Baldwin, from the cult sci-fi series "Firefly"
Austin St. John, the original Red Ranger on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"
Creed Bratton, the rocker (Creed) turned actor ("The Office")
Elodie Yung, Elektra on Netflix's recently canceled "Daredevil" series
David Henrie, from TV's "The Wizards of Waverly Place" and "How I Met Your Mother"
Autographs and photo opportunities are listed on the site at $40 (cash only), $50 for Astin.
Also on the guest list: more than a dozen video-game and animation voice actors, and comic-book artists and writers.
Admission to the Wisconsin Comic Convention is $60 for a three-day pass, $30 for Friday, June 28, only; $40 for Saturday, June 29, only; and $30 for Sunday, June 30. Kids 12 and younger admitted free.
