Cool. Great opening.

Just as two little additions, Greg Berlanti is also developing "Dirty Sexy Money" and Rina Mimoun also has a pilot in development.

And someone get Tom Amandes and Gregory Smith a show already!!

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (10-11 p.m.)
"Dependent"

MOB LAWYER (GUEST STAR CARY ELWES) AND HIS FAMILY ARE BRUTALLY ATTACKED LEAVING A YOUNG BOY AS THE SOLE WITNESS -- Mob lawyer Sidney Truex (guest star Cary Elwes, "The Princess Bride") and his wife are brutally attacked, leaving his young son emotionally scarred. When the Detectives have to locate the Truexs' daughter, Charlotte (guest star Emily VanCamp), to notify her about the attack on her parents, Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) find Charlotte at her boyfriend Ryan's (Justin Klosky) apartment. Through an exhaustive interview process, the Detectives must sort through the web of lies Charlotte has told in order to piece together a night of drinking and drugs leaving Charlotte unable to recall details of the evening. However, her father comes out of surgery and is able to vividly remember his daughter at the crime scene. The disturbing case takes another turn as Stabler is brought up on charges of excessive force after getting into a very serious altercation with Ryan. Dann Florek, Diane Neal, B.D. Wong, and Tamara Tunie also star.

Guys, I don't know if you knew about this, but the incoming series Heartland's plot is pretty much similar to Everwood's. By IMDB the plot says: Heart surgeon Nathaniel Grant's dedication to his work takes a toll on his health and his relationships.
If that's not comparable to Everwood I don't know what is, I look forward to watch this show, I want to follow Treat Williams.

I can't believe I'm going to be watching Law and Order after all these years. I have no idea if it's good or not, and I guess I don't really care. I'd watch OTH and 7th Heaven or even reality television to see Emily!

Thanks for the synopsis Alex. It's like if season two was on one crazy drug trip at a party. Amy Abbott! Lying, drinking, drugs, spending the night not at Ephram's . What would Harold say? I've got my hopes up on this one, but it looks like it's going to be an awesome depature for Emily. She's going to be crazzzzzzzy!

I watch repeats of Law and Order from time to time, but I'll definitely be catching the episode that Emily will be in, and I'll definitely have to check out Brothers and Sisters. Thanks for this information! I couldn't stomach watching 7th Hell under any circumstances, even if Emily was on it though!

Somehow I knew you'd say that. LOL

Maybe I'm optimistic but I really hope EVC wouldn't take a role on a show like 7thHell even if she was offered too.
That would just be a waste !

Yes, that would work, Michelle. I could tape the show, and just watch Emily's scenes, but Emily would have to have a lobotomy to be able to match the acting caliber of the other actors on 7th Hell!

2007: The Year of Emily continues. From the Ausiello Report:

Quote:
Ausiello: Congratulations! Are you psyched?
Emily VanCamp: I am. It's been so crazy. It all happened in one day, so I haven't really had time to wrap my head around it. But it's so exciting.

Ausiello: You were in the running, out of the running, back in the running, and then you got it. What the heck happened?
VanCamp: There was talk about it a couple of months ago, first in your column [Laughs], and then I heard it from some other people. But nothing ever was set in stone. There was never a real offer on the table, so I kind of put it out of my mind. And then it all just came together at the last minute, which is how things typically happen for me.

Ausiello: Did you have to audition?
VanCamp: No, [which] was incredibly flattering. Greg and I obviously worked together for four years on Everwood, so he has a really good sense of who I am and what I have to offer. I think he had confidence that I would fit in well.

Ausiello: What have you been told about Rebecca's story?
VanCamp: It's about the dynamic between all these brothers and sisters who grew up together, and then this newcomer who is trying to fit in and understand the family and get to know everybody. I can only imagine it being a very odd experience knowing that you share blood with these people, but you have no idea who they are.

Ausiello: How is Rebecca different from Amy?
VanCamp: Amy grew up in small-town America, and this young gal grew up in Los Angeles. It's a completely different mentality. And I think there's a lot more maturity there, which is exciting for me.

Ausiello: How long is your commitment?
VanCamp: I think that all depends on how long they want me. Basically, I'm coming on as a series regular, which is all episodes produced this year as well as next year and the year after. It's quite a big commitment. It was definitely scary jumping into something like this right after Everwood, but it's such a phenomenal show, and with someone like Greg on board... I just have every bit of faith in him. He's an incredibly talented guy. I'm absolutely honored to be working with him again, and excited to work with this tremendous cast. I would rather enter into a show that I already know is of such high quality than try to lead my own show. Plus, the chances of pilots getting picked up are slim to none. I'd much rather be a part of something like this, where I can really learn from it. 'Cause I'm only 20. I've got a lot to learn. [Laughs]

Ausiello: Do you miss Everwood?
VanCamp: I do. It was such a tremendous experience. And I love everybody on that show so much. That was the hardest part — saying goodbye to all those people. We still see each other, but it's not the same. We're not all in the same place all the time. That part was really hard. And letting go of our characters that we've been playing for so long... you get really attached to those people that you've created, and suddenly they don't exist anymore. It was very, very hard. But the response from all of our fans was incredible. I couldn't have asked for a nicer way to leave. It's not like we dwindled away and people got sick of the show. People really were left wanting more, and I think there's a lot of value to that.

Ausiello: Do you keep in touch with anyone?
VanCamp: Greg and I are in touch quite a bit. Sarah Drew and I talk a lot. Tom I still talk to all the time. [FYI: As I reported in this week's Ask Ausiello, Emily confirmed that she and Chris Pratt are no longer dating.]

Ausiello: Tell me about your episode of Law & Order: SVU coming up on Feb. 13.
VanCamp: That was crazy. I played this girl who's a bit of a drug addict, and [I'm led to believe] that I killed my mother. I was high the evening that it happened, so I had no recollection of the evening, and I convince myself that I did it. It's really, really intense, and totally different from anything I've done before, so that was really fun.

Ausiello: And before that you shot a movie called Carriers, right?
VanCamp: Yeah. It's sort of this postapocalyptic thriller. It's very dark and weird. I think they're looking at a late spring release.
I'm just so happy for Emily to get all these opportunities and get all this recognition and we all know she's going to take advantage of those opportunities and put on some amazing work as she usually does. Loved her thoughts on Everwood, and as much as this is so great for Emily, I have to admit I'm even more happy that it's keeping Everwood and its name alive.

The possibilities of her character on B&S are huge. This was obviously always planned to be a long-term character and they have been building to her for quite a while now and she's a series regular! I mean, it's huge. Totally deserved for Emily to get this. I couldn't imagine juuust watching a guest spot on SVU, she deserves more than that and she's getting it!

And being a Berlanti fanboy, it's great to see the praise for him too! Eee, the whole interview just made me really happy.

Thanks for bringing that over Tos
It's definitely interesting and I agree with everything you said.
The Everwood talk, Berlanti's talent, EVC opinion on her career. It just makes total sense. Plus, She's very nice to us fans.
I love her and I really wish her the best

Jerry, so true.

Regarding the interview... blows me away. Thanks so much Tos from bringing it over.

Emily is sooooooooo classy, sweet, intelligent, mature and seems so wise beyond her years. Hollywood has not gotten to this girl, that's for sure and you can see this plain as day. I think she's just incredible. Physical beauty is beyond words and her intelligence is just as mind blowing. I just adore her.

I love how you can tell that EW means so much to her. You can sense that the minute she talks about it.

I can't believe she's on B&S for a few years! That's SOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome.
And I think it's tremendous she didn't have to audition.... hello, why should she? Everyone with a brain understands that her talent is untouchable and you couldn't ask for a better younger actress out there. Berlanti knows her like the back of his hand, man. He didn't need her to audition. Although I would have called her in just to see her pretty face. Heh. JK

I love how she said she rather go to an established, high quality show with brilliant actors such as Sally Field and learn from them rather than go do other things on her own because she's only 20 and realizes she still wants to grow as an actress. That's just perfect thinking. It reminds me of Alexis Bledel who is speculated as wanting to ditch the last season GG, which means giving up the chance to work with Lauren for one more year and go do something else. Stuuuuuupid IMO. Especially since Alexis isn't even close to the talent that is Emily.

Anyway, I think it's proof that Emily knows exactly what she's talking about. Sally Field is as good as it gets and she understood this, saw this enormous opportunity and firmly grabbed and embraced in a huge way. Outstanding.

Also, so cute how she knew about the Ausiello column. Heh.

I just adore this girl and I'm counting the days until her SVU appearance and of course her series regular run on B&S and her movie take place.

Also, for anyone who missed the GORGEOUS Emily pics, head on over to the Emily VanCamp thread. Trussssssssssst me, you WON'T be disapppointed. Good God.... LOL
