You're welcome, guys!
I totally agree about Mrs. Kim. We were definitely all seeing it through Lane's eyes which means we're seeing it from a teenager perspective and that, right there, says something. LOL For as great of a mother as my sister is, if we only viewed her interaction with my nieces through their eyes, she might come across as Mommy Dearest. Yes, I adored the evolution of Lane and her mother. |

Also love it because most of lane's complaints are typical of scone generation immigrants. We think our parents are too strict. We seldom understand that they are just trying to hold on to a semblance of their culture while the kids don't always get that. S5 and 6 mrs. Kim cracks me up.

Here's a question for you all - do you think if Lane had not been an only child, would Mrs. Kim have been more relaxed with the other children? Because I know that when Dana was a baby I was petrified that I had to do everything right or she was going to die or turn out to be a horrible person, or whatever other horrible things I could think of. I had to learn to let that go when Nathan came along, but I do wonder if Dana had been an only child would I still be that way? __________________

I think she would've too. I don't think Mrs. Kim really knew how to raise a daughter in the American world as her entire world was raised on another continent

1. Lane was an only child. 2. Lane was a girl. 3. Lane was American. Those three things swirled up together is why Lane's mom tried raising Lane in a very conservative/sheltered way. So yes, I do believe if Lane had a brother or sister (especially brother), things would have been much different. Mrs. Kim had her business and she had Lane for the most part. They were her world and she pretty much grabbed both of them tightly, trying desperately to make sure neither failed. |

I am on season 5 and I have to say that Rory is disappointing me this season. Does she keep going back to Dean because she can't find anyone else? The guy is still married. She actually thought she could hang out in his parents house in his room and have sex? Seriously?

I have no idea what ASP was thinking with this storyline. She took a sweet first love relationship and used a hammer to beat it to death. |
