The 100: 4.6: We Will Rise

The main theme of this episode was self reflection: Bellamy trying to deal with Octavia's resentment, Roan trying to find himself as he questions his decision on not being back at Polis, Clarke mourning Lexa, Murphy dealing with self loathing and guilt over injuring Raven while Luna helps him along with sharing some of her own story, Octavia still dealing with the loss of Lincoln, Jaha being reminded of his son, Wells. Really great stuff pulling it all together.

I mentioned in the past that Monty would be one character I wouldn't terribly miss should he die. However, this episode reminds me that he is the moral compass and that is very important. I love when Monty told Jaha that his son Wells would be ashamed of him. I love the reminder that Murphy was falsely accused of Wells' death.

Octavia has definitely reached her breaking point. She truly has become a cold-hearted murderer. I do not like to see this, and we've been seeing it ever since Lincoln's death. I understand she's still mourning Lincoln, but it doesn't give her the right to not only be a murderer, but to actually enjoy murdering. She has taken a sick pleasure in murdering just to get past her grief. She's no better than Jasper who is wasted space. However, this episode I believe is a turning point for her. What she said to her brother, I am sorry, is despicable and the worst of the worst. I am not one who believes Bellamy is the reason for Lincoln's death. I'm so sick of hearing this. I understand why Octavia once connected Bellamy but that was out of passion and grief. It's just not correct when you think of it intellectually. You want to blame one person then you blame Pike. Plus, I keep saying this... Lincoln didn't have to die! He died a hero, he turned back but he didn't have to and to be honest it really didn't help anything either way. I'm actually mad at Lincoln for turning back like he did because it was avoidable. He did not have to die. He made the decision to turn back which I still will never quite understand. Either way, the words Octavia said to Bellamy is just not right. I can understand her initially blaming her brother without intellect and just plain grief that burns, but that was before she became a cold-hearted murderer. In my eyes, she's way worse than Bellamy at the moment. Bellamy thought he was helping his people, Bellamy was lost and confused. Bellamy turned things around, Bellamy is in pain over guilt and all of his wrong decisions every second of every day. Bellamy is a flawed human but with a heart. Octavia needs to find a way to get through this. I feel like a turning point happened in this episode thankfully. It was sad reliving Lincoln's death again. But I'm very glad Monty and especially Kane got through to Octavia. I have no idea where she's going now but I have a feeling Ilian is going to find her and they'll form a bond. I'm pulling for Octavia to find her way again! I like her too much and refuse to give up on her.

I love the Kane and Clarke moment. It reminded me of a father/daughter moment.

My favorite character, Raven, of course was intentionally furthering the effects of the radiation and her neurological symptoms. I love her so much. She is willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good. I love how Luna helped her and Murphy as well. Luna is not only my favorite secondary character, but I can totally relate to her empathetic side. She is a true Empath. I love how she got through to both Raven and Murphy. I love Luna! The dynamic between Raven and Murphy was scorching. I am so glad that we are revisiting what happened towards the beginning of the series when Murphy damaged Raven's spinal cord. He is experiencing hell on earth thinking about what he did to Raven and his other mistakes. Someone without a true heart wouldn't be suffering like this. Same with Bellamy. I am sorry, but Murphy is a good guy. I know at the beginning of the series it didn't seem that way but he is. He is misunderstood, always has been, and his environment in space was not a good one. He does have a heart, he is flawed and in this episode we viewed just why John Murphy was never an evil guy. I love the dynamic between Raven and Murphy. Back to Luna, she has such calm Energy and just naturally knows how to put out fires. I love the character of Luna. Like I said, Raven and Luna are my favorites.

I loved learning more about the life of young Night Bloods and Luna's life before she created the community on the boat. I want to hear more and more about this.

Seeing Raven apparently seizure right at the end was horrible, along with finding out it doesn't matter that she made the simulated controlled crash work due to the damage of the one barrel.

The interaction between Roan/Clarke/Bellamy was good. The action scenes had me on the edge of my seat. Love the Bellarke interaction as usual.

Miller's dad turning on Kane sucked.

Jasper as usual wandering around being an annoying creep worked my last nerve. Is it realistic that they would have a Jasper in the bunch? Probably. It doesn't make me dislike him any less.

Jaha looking at the Cult Chip... interesting.

Another incredible episode. I still can't believe this series is on The CW. I know the show This Is US is great. I don't even have to watch the series to know how good the show is. However, the show is also blessed because it's on one of those main networks that gets all the love and attention. The 100 also deserves to be on one of those main networks because in my mind it's one of the best shows on TV but will never get enough respect and credit because of the network it is on. This is unfortunate if you ask me because more people should be watching The 100 for the quality and the themes that are tackled weekly. It deserves to be talked about and showcased. It's a shame that it's not on an NBC, CBS, ABC where it would get the love and attention just like This Is US does.

The title of this episode is significant. I believe it's foreshadowing for things to come...

I just need to watch the latest one. but so much has happened that I want to do a season 3 rewatch.

I know you guys aren't big Logan (Matt) fans but this is the best news to me as an Everwood/GG fan

Rewatch is definitely a good idea. The music episode is next so I consider it kind of a break at the moment until the final stretch.

I am really excited about this. I can only imagine the chemistry they'll have on the screen together. I'm definitely tuning in!

I have been waiting for both of them to have new projects, but together-that's just a double win.

So much has happened this season with flash that I need time to digest it all.

Definitely a double win! Their names alone will bring in the audience. I can't wait!

The last episode pissed me off. I didn't think it was possible to appreciate Ephram/Amy more than I already do but that's the reality. Post-Everwood, Berlanti doesn't take issue with messing with his main pairings.

Although I read something yesterday about it being Berlanti who demanded MG bring on another BC on Arrow. I don't know if it's true or not but according to what I read, it was Berlanti who was sick of what Arrow was doing and wanted it changed. I actually watched the last episode of Arrow the other night (for kicks) and couldn't believe how bad it was. I was rooting for the villain to kill Oliver and the new illegal corporation Felicity is involved in to take her down too. Plus, even with the new BC... Dinah is treated just like Laurel, maybe even worse. This joke of a show is pathetic. I can't believe it's the same show as season 1 Arrow. The funny part to it is some believe the ratings are a joke because OF are currently broken up. These people need to look at when the ratings started to collapse. That would be right when Laurel was killed off and it's been a disaster ever since. It's sad. Fan pandering at its finest which ultimately killed a once promising show.

Yes, but if they had watched The Good Wife they would be big Matt fans. I wasn't crazy about him as Logan either.
