Thanks alot, Betty. Somedays it seems like nobody cares, cos I'm the only one here. ;) Yeah, Shameless is a different kind of family show, it's more honest, much more real, the Gallaghers have problems most other shows wouldn't even talk about. Different...and (or but) good, well said. :)

BepperGirl 08-19-2011 12:45 PM

Thanks for the new thread, Betty.

everwoodfan52 08-19-2011 12:46 PM

 Don't ever feel like that, Matt. It's often slow on this board....but I can guarantee that if you are posting about shows that people watch...they are reading. We don't watch all the shows that you watch....so that's why you don't often get responses. Sometimes we read a post...enjoy the post...but don't always respond.
But....we ARE reading!! So...don't ever stop your posts! :)

ETA: Does anyone want me or 'Tos to make any changes on the Opening Post?

You're welcome, Gaby. Glad to see you back on the board! :D

I know, I've been working hella long hours this month, barely getting enough sleep. One more week left for this one job and then school starts on the 29th.

The top of the post says thread #36 when it's #37.

You can take out US of Tara, Glee and Supernatural on my current TV list. Add Suits, Rookie Blue, and Lost Girl.

Done! I'm glad to see another Rookie Blue fan....love that show!

I'm also enjoying Drop Dead Diva this season. :D

What have you thought of the developments in PLL this season? Are you enjoying the show as much?

Thanks for the new thread, Betty. :)

Scoundrels: Season 1, Episode 6

This episode was boring, doesn't hurt to watch it, but it's nothing more than a short show for the Summer. I like the cast, they are doing a good job, if the stories are as boring as today, it’s really hard to like them. Heather met a old model who pretended to help her, despite Hope telling her a parable of the frog and the scorpion, Heather didn’t listen to her. That was sooo boring, waste of time. Cal could be the father of the child of Hong’s wife, that wasn’t better, boring too. Best storyline was Cheryl, once again she had a new job, but she lost it again, cos her boss (best thing about this episode: Brenda Strong) was doing some illegal things. Nice ending when she declared war to her if she does something against her or her family, but that was it. Hope only had a couple scenes, this episode was not good at all, no wonder that the show got cancelled so soon. My problem is, that this is neither (really) funny nor dramatic, and the storylines seem to always be the same and predictable too.

I know, I'm watching a lot shows that are not on air or are not that well known. Nice to hear if somebody is reading it.

The Middle: Season 1, Episode 22

Axl has always some great lines, like when he said “you woke me up in the middle of my rem, it could’ve killed me”. I felt sooo sorry for Frankie, cos on mother’s day, the kids did everything wrong, the breakfast in bed was a disaster, the kids woke her up at 6:30, Axl fell asleep on her bed and Sue spilled the breakfast too. Father’s day on the other hand is a great day for Mike, waking up at 10:00, having a perfectly cooked breakfast, being able to enjoy the day, wow. Though this is of course a comedy show, it perfectly showed the difference between men and women, and it was not really a nice thing to see that. And then Mike forgot her present and bought her something at best okay – you can now guess who good the present Mike got was. It was really great that Frankie got some peace when she visited her Mom with Sue. What she didn’t see: She was letting her mom work for her too, bring me a drink, make me a sandwich. Then mother and daughter fought and Frankie fought with Sue too about crappy gifts and being alone on mother’s day. They forgave each other, but really hard to take that Frankie had to wash all the dishes when she returned home. Sue: “I tell you one thing: Never having kids.” Every woman who watched this episode won’t have any family I hope. :D Beautiful ending with the kids on the bed with Frankie and she celebrated “the day after mother’s day then.” A very interesting episode, it wasn’t very funny, it even was a bit depressing, poor Frankie, what a strong woman! But it was interesting to watch.

You know that I know a lot about tv shows, but honestly I never have heard about Drop Dead Diva, I read the name, but never thought about watching it. It sounds not bad, could anybody give me a short description what I can expect from the show. I not a fan of legal dramas (Ally McBeal and Eli Stone were the only ones I watched), so I need to know how much courtroom action this show is about and maybe what the genre is, like it's a funny legal show or dramatic or so. And if you think this show is for women only it would be nice to tell me that too. ;) I can't afford to not watch any show if I think it could be interesting. ;) Now I see it's from lifetime, that's def a network I have no real idea of.

Thanks Betty, I had to change the video cos I couldn't watch this one, but I watched the same video. I'm not sure if that's a show for me, but it looks not bad. Will give it a shot it in about 5 years. :)

The Middle: Season 1, Episode 23

“I don’t know much about that, but I’d be interested to here what you have to say about that.” :D WOW, what an amazing line, have to remember that. And of course the old “I understand” – that was SO freaking Charlie Harper, great episode when he said that like 100x without understanding anything. It was again an interesting episode, it didn’t feel so much planned, there are those episode that have clear storylines, but here it was mixed together really well. Sue went to this church group cos Frankie wanted her to go, she fell in love with the singing reverend who really understood her or teenager, but he had to leave. And Brick and Mike tried to socialize, that did work fine but in the end it was too much and too exhausting. Sweet episode, I like the show, it’s different than Malcolm In The Middle, but really good and refreshing. :)

Matt, It's not a show that I would tell you that you had to watch. I am enjoying it because I really like the main character...her personality and her acting. I enjoy the storylines/cases...really clever and interesting. But...it's not a show that I would tell a guy to watch.

Yes Gaby, I am still watching and enjoying...but am totally confused as to the good guys and the bad guys. There are so many bad guys!!!
Do you have any theories?

That was part of my many questions, you answered it, thanks. :) For me it's also not a show I have to watch, maybe I'll check it out someday, but I'll try to have a backup list with shows I could give a chance if I would like to watch something new. I'm a huge Gilmore Girls fan and I'm really into drama, I prefer drama over action, mystery and sci-fi - so I'm a bit of a girly guy. :D

Yeah, what happened with today. Only 2 shows watched, now I finally get some Wilfred and Shameless or Scoundrels. And I'll check out the new ABC Family show called The Lying Game. It's about twins who were adopted right after birth, but now meet when they are teens and switch roles and of course their lives were total opposits, it sounds a lot like Switched At Birth, I say what the heck, why not give it a try, it's summer. I've heard that it's like a light version of PLL, cos it's from the same creator, Sara Shepard, I only read that both shows are not so much different. And I'll start Breaking Bad Season 3 on Monday I hope, first I have to finish Scoundrels. Believe it or not, but tomorrow it's been exactly one year since I finished season 2 - how can I do that? Even pregnant Hilary Duff is watching Breaking Bad, I'm a horrible person, I can't wait. :goof: And I have to tell you that I will watch FNL S4 maybe end of year (in the winter break of fall season), that's the earlies I can watch it, the guy I'm watching with didn't want to watch it atm, so we said maybe then we could watch. I think a break can't hurt, I watched the first 3 seasons within 4 months. And some other stuff I don't know yet about. :)
