I'm happy with it, plus everyone and their mum knew he would be the new coach anyways lol.

He should know that he does have a responsibility to groom the future too when asked.
I don't have any issues with his comments lol and I do see Ben helping out Rudolph if needed.

Really? Why was it a given he would be the new coach?

He was getting ripped for his comments by the media.

1. He has threatened to retire yearly, lol.
2. Just last season after the Jacksonville game he said maybe he didn’t have it anymore.
3. The way he plays (holding onto the ball and taking hits) would make him the least likely to be able to play that long over a Brady or Brees.

It’s obvious he was energized again after Haley was gone though.

True, but he did say previously he wanted to play 3 more years and plus I think the retirement talk was an way to get rid of Haley lol. Plus we have an good o-line now too, so that will help stretch out his career an bit.

Two good things have come out of this:

1. Haley is gone which obviously makes Ben happy and at peace.
2. He will be on his toes some due to the drafting of Mason R. He'll groom him eventually, for sure, but I think he's a bit lit now and has a renewed energy knowing his possible replacement for the future has arrived. Hopefully he will be very determined to get another Ring before he retires.
