I will forever bash arrow but more than anything I just want it to end so it stops ruining crossovers.

WestAllen's wedding being stepped on not once but twice was maddening. The first time I could understand (criminal invasion) but the second time? Unacceptable.

Supposedly there are going to be a bunch of new writers on Arrow next season. I don't know the accuracy of the statements, but the rumor making the rounds on Tumblr is that after this season of plot overriding character, the writers room is getting a shakeup. We'll see if that's true.

As for the Flash, it wasn't the best episode ever. I'm ready for the Devoe stuff to be done. He should've been a half-season villain, not a whole season one.

That's good. Honestly, from what I'm seeing, even Olicity fans hate this current season. Too many newbies and the division is ridiculous or something? I also read that Colton will be a regular next season which should be good. I sound like a broken record but the newbies weren't needed if you kept the BC! TPTB could have had Katie/BC float around to the different shows. She could have been on Legends regularly making appearances on Arrow a few times a season. It's fine if you don't want GA/BC romantic and totally together in this TV version. But don't be killing off BC, writers. You just couldn't afford to go there, she's too popular. :(

Anyway, hopefully things improve next season. I know you watch and still like it so hopefully you will be satisfied next season.

:nod: Now this is my favorite Superhero show by far and I'm ready to bash it like crazy. I hated last night's episode overall. Thoughts to come later!

Either Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Gotham is my favorite superhero show, but The Flash or Supergirl come next.

The Flash S04.E17: NULL AND ANNOYED

This should have been called DULL AND ANNOYED.

This is an episode I found myself clock watching. I was bored and irked throughout most of the episode.

I’ve been one of those people who don’t hate Ralph but I might be entering that territory. He’s literally featured in every freaken episode. I am not a follower of the comic character but it seems the TV version is nothing like the comic version which would be fine if the TV version was better... but apparently the show is really making him look like a moron, not remotely honoring the comic character. I just can’t believe the rinse and repeat BS. I’m also someone who feels empathy like breathing in air but I only wanted to punch him when he told Barry the story about his dad. Barry’s mother and eventually father were both murdered (right in front of him) and before his father was murdered, he was in prison throughout Barry’s entire childhood. How on earth is there a comparison? Barry has a right to be a psychpathic murderer given all he’s been through. As a result, I don’t care that Ralph’s father leaving causes him to act idiotic.

The Thinker stuff is so stupid at this point... when it all started I actually bought the love between him and Marlize and even felt a little sorry for him. But he’s turned into this monsterous beast. He makes evil seem light. What he’s doing to Marlize is so disturbing. I really hope she gets away from him.

The Cisco job offer was a shocker. I doubt he’s going to take it, but at this point I’m slightly concerned due to the Ralph obsession. Maybe TPTB want to ship off Cisco to make even more room for Ralph. :irked:

I mentioned a few weeks ago being convinced Harry will be the villain next season. It looks like Harry is going into Eobard mode and if you remember the mysterious girl (maybe WestAllen’s future daughter) she gave Harry a disgusted look last time we saw her which could mean she knows he’s a villain in the future.

The Ralph obsession and creepy, drawn out DeVoe stuff is not fun. Hopefully the next one is better.

Your thoughts on the episode echo mine. I've never thought that Devoe truly loved his wife more than his plan and his power, and this episode proved me correct.

He never would have been able to do what he's done to her if he truly loved her. So crazy. Devastating to see that she actually has tried warning herself before and the evil monster continues to stop her. I hope she doesn't die or even go to prison if caught. She had no idea what he was doing, she freaked out the second she found out he was murdering and turning violent. She didn't sign up for what this has turned into. She's a victim in my mind. He manipulated her from the start and is doing the most evil things to her right now. I would love to see her help Team Flash take him down.

She didn't freak out when he started stealing bodies, effectively murdering their previous inhabitants. Not at first anyway. She was uncomfortable being intimate with him when he stole the first body, but she didn't seem particularly upset that he'd killed a man to get that body.

Yeah, that's true. I still see her more as a victim at the moment given what he's doing to her.

This season started out so strong. With Barry coming out the of the Speed Force and the Devoe's jumping into the situation. The writers want to go all Rowling-like but the problem is they don't know how to keep things suspenseful and fulfilling throughout the journey. What I mean by Rowling-like is they want to keep everything a big mystery until the final conclusion at the end. We saw Barry struggling after he came out of the Speed Force, furiously writing down several things that will certainly connect the dots to the big picture. Instead of slowly evolving the story, keeping it interesting, they are simply waiting to show us the endgame part of the story. It's obvious they are aiming for a WOW, everything makes sense now situation too. Problem is, they've lost control of the story. They never should have killed off the original DeVoe actor. He and his relationship with Marlize was what made the DeVoe's so interesting. Not one of the actors inserted in there has been interesting. Instead, it just seems silly and stupid. The actress who plays Marlize is really good but she can't make up for two people. Also, the audience is still in the dark on their plans. Why? It's taking forever! It's bad, lazy writing. If the writing was compelling enough, the audience would have at least some understanding by now. Why not clue us in a little earlier so we're not frustrated and getting to the point of not giving a damn anymore. Instead, in order to delay the reveal, we're getting Ralph drama (fart jokes... really, writers?) and now they are throwing in some Harry drama at the last minute. Actually, it might not be the real Harry as a switch was made... okay? Something else the audience randomly finds out... yet the little twist at the end of last episode was not brilliant... you could tell that is where it was going anyway... it was just badly executed.

The first part of the season was very strong. The middle jumped ship. I hope we get some recovery in these last handful of episodes of the season.

I agree with you. I couldn't quite pin point what the problem was until now. I've just lost so much enthusiasm for the show until 415 and 416 but from what I've heard of 417 its not something I would like and I am really dragging my feet. I felt like 401-406 was so strong then its been up and down ever since. Why is Ralph taking up so much story time? We just met him and I am not invested in him. He needs to be background imo. I have a feeling its all so we will care when he dies, but its not working out that way imo. People will probably applaud his demise instead of feeling bad about it.
