It is in the nature of a lot of women to be the protective mothers . To be fair same for lots of fathers. I know my parents would tolerate much more BS towards them than towards me. Something just kicks in for them if it is about me.

If my husband was ever abusive, I would leave not just for myself but for the kids. Sometimes disrespect also falls into that category. My two youngest have a lot of emotional intelligence. It's amazing how much kids pick up on. But, everyone's experience is dfiferent.

I know a lot of women like that. If it is about them they will tolerate BS because they love the person but they would not do it for their children. And yes disrespect falls into that category. As a mother you always ask yourself how do you raise your children. Do you raise your girls to tolerate disrespect from their partners. Do you raise your boys to disrespect women. You know we emulate our parents and our environment. If we grow up certain way, we might think this is normal/expected. So yeah I can see why you are mindful about this.

I know for me I saw a lot of my cousins and people I work with get mistreated and its awful. As a children, you also see the impact of living in these households on kids especially middle school aged children. But, it all depends on your personality. What is normal for one person isn't for another. I have never been a passive personality so that's never been my jam.

Yeah i think my sister sees it differently though. She thinks breaking up with him now would destroy their idea of family. She wants them to have two parents raising them and have happy family moments. And like I said, for the most part they seem happy. I watch a lot of shows about murder and abuse and i know the signs. I dont see that with my BIL.. hes just a bit condescending and a know it all. He has the typical Republican "traditional values" attitude. And I do think the kids would have a hard time with their parents splitting up. As a child of divorce, it was very hard, even though it was pretty much all I ever knew, I never had that happy family dynamic or a great relationship with my dad. I am not blaming my mom, I get why she had to leave my dad but I can also see why my sister wouldn't want that for her own kids. Obviously in extreme cases its much better to leave of course! But I dont think she feels this is the case.

Like, what the hell is going on? Im back to like blowing my nose and my head feels so full, phlegm EVERYWHERE like wtfffff its like a cycle. Like this for a week and its a massive sore throat and then back and forth, its the cold that never ends. Its been over two months. I find it strange if its an allergy it came on out of the blue cuz I never had allergies before????

August 11-15! Its gonna be hot too, im sure. ugh.

I am glad for both your sister and her kids that they are mostly a happy family.

Yes, I mean if it’s mostly happy overall that’s all that matters. I think to some women a guy with these traditional values it wouldn’t work. My sister would have kicked my brother-in-law to the curb if even for a day he tried controlling her or threw fit if she had plans with family he felt he had to monitor and make a yes/no first.

But if it works for your sister and she’s good with this that’s all the matters. If the kids are not affected that’s great too.

I don’t know whether to tell you if an allergist or ENT might eventually help you for the chronic symptoms. Would you say you have sinus issues?

Just getting a stuffy nose and a lot of phlegm in my throat, and ive had a raging head ache all day, its so strange. Its like jumping around through all these different symptoms of a cold.

i genuinely think Covid messed everything up and there are so many nasty viruses out there now.

I also think that due to isolation and lack of physical activity some people immune system got worse. And now they are getting sicker much easier and much more often.

Fingers crossed you get better soon. I think I asked you but I don't remember if you answered me but have you considered taking immune boosters for a bit?
