THANKS, Alan, for the title!

Yeah I think it's her defense mechanism for when she loses she just puffs up and turns into a pompous ass. She is a great soccer player and a great competitor but her downfall as it has always been is her arrogance.

It's totally a defense mechanism, you can tell. It's that Leo pride stuff. Shutting up about astro, though... you said it perfectly... she's a wonderful soccer player and competitor but her arrogance always gets the best of her. Think back to the controversy with Scurry. She hates losing or looking "bad' in any way so she throws fits as a result. I just don't understand why she was so upset over Dancing With The Stars. Dancing is not her thing! This was not something she was ever going to perfect. I know not the best dancers win or make it far but still... I would have been so happy making the semis. Look at how GRACEFUL Nancy Grace was when she lost and Nancy Grace is one tough cookie when it comes to her career. I don't know.... I wish Hope's attitude would change a bit. They say a true champion is not one that handles wins beautifully. It's how one handles losses. If there's grace and dignity, THAT is a true champion. I wish Hope would figure this out.

Also, this is probably just a ploy to try and skirt estate taxes, but the timing is curious.

Yeah she seems to be be paranoid. She has the idea in her head that the judges from the beginning were out to get her and she never let that go. It sucks the last thing people who dont watch sports will remember about her is her crap attitude.

Yeah Alan I saw that it is curious timing isnt it. I love Joe Pa so its hard for me to think he could be apart of this whole cover up but on the other hand when you take a step back its hard to imagine NO ONE knew this was going on.

Alan, thanks for the links! The best part of the one was the following:

Quote:
“I am appalled by the fact that Mr. Sandusky has elected to revictimize these young men at a time when they should be healing,” Andreozzi said. “He’s being a coward by refusing to admit to his culpability. Sexual assault victims can begin the healing process if there’s an acknowledgement of fault. Mr. Sandusky could assist in that process and instead he is putting these young men through it again.”
That is so true and shame on the creep criminal for doing this all over again to the victims. He needs to rot in hell.

Where on earth did she get the idea that the judges were out to get her? That is so ridiculous. Yes, her attitude is just awful. Wow.

Too bad she ruined her reputation as a fantastic soccer player with this action.

Glad people liked the title.

I don't watch Dancing With The Stars, so I don't really have any opinion about the current topic.

If you fancy a laugh, look up Jon Stewart's take on the Sandusky interview. His thought's echo some of my own personal thoughts almost verbatim.

Seriously. I don't know what she was thinking. I thought she learned from the Scurry situation that it doesn't pay to be loud and mouthy arrogant. I guess not. I will always love Hope on the field and I love her passion and determination as the best goalie on the planet. However, she would not be someone I could be close friends with. Way too arrogant. Wow.

What makes her a great player is what makes her a less than great person at times, her arrogance. In sports you honestly need a little bit of that...you have to KNOW ,not think, but KNOW you are better than the person opposite you. Thats just how it is. However once you leave the field you have to leave that arrogance behind as well....you cant be arrogant in life. Its kinda a juxstaposition of sorts you need arrogance to suceed in sports and even your job life but outside of that it has the opposite effect. Hope needs to learn this or her popularity will never be what it could.

MLB
Astros look to be moving to the American League where they will join the Rangers in the AL West. We have always had the Silver Boot series to create a bit of an in state rivalry but us being in the same league and in the same division....yeah this should be fun! Bring it Houston!

That's why my favorite American player is Alex Morgan, hands down. The girl is amazing on the field and plays like there isn't a better fluid striker on the field and there isn't! She is all business and determination on the field. When she steps off, she is confident in her interviews but so sweet and down to earth. She has the perfect blend of sweetness, confidence, determination both on and off the field.

I still can't get over Hope being so dramatic over Dancing With The Stars. Every week I moved on would have been golden for me. I would have smiled, knowing I had no business even moving on! I can't believe she was so full of herself. That is so not appealing. Ricki Lake apologizing for NOT doing her best is the polar opposite of Hope Solo.

This was week 8:

Quote:
Carrie Ann called this dynamic duo a little lost in this second dance of their Dancing with the Stars evening, while Len Goodman concurred, saying there were some moments that were a bit off. Bruno called the choreography tough and that, unlike before, there wasn't a continuous flow as is the norm for the jive.

Still, Tonioli said this offering from Derek Hough and Ricki Lake "wasn't terrible," a remark that probably pushed this avid dance student into somewhat of a stupor. The comment from this sassy Italian judge may have been why Ricki kept apologizing for not doing her best.
Now that is someone you cheer for. Hope was a spoiled brat every time the judges criticized her. So lame. I hope she leans something from the experience.

That's going to be awesome! LOL. When are they moving officially?

US Men's National Team/World Cup Qualifying

Quote:
U.S. to open qualifying vs. Antigua

NEW YORK -- The United States will open qualifying for the 2014 World Cup at home June 8 against Antigua and Barbuda.

The Americans, trying to qualify for their seventh straight trip to soccer's championship, play at Guatemala on June 12, FIFA announced Wednesday.

After the summer break, the U.S. plays at Jamaica on Sept. 7, then hosts the Reggae Boyz four days later. In the final games of the regional semifinals, the Americans are at Antigua on Oct. 12 and close Group A at home against Guatemala on Oct. 16.

Sites for the home games will be announced later.

The top two teams from each of three groups advance to the 2013 regional finals in North and Central America and the Caribbean.

The first three teams will qualify for the 2014 tournament in Brazil, and the fourth-place team goes to a home-and-home playoff against the Oceania champion -- likely New Zealand -- for another berth.

Group B has Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guyana and Mexico, and Group C includes Canada, Cuba, Honduras and Panama.
I like what this one person said in the ESPN comment section:

Quote:
I think a lot people don't even realize there are world cup qualifying matches. They just think USA gets an automatic berth in the world cup. Not true at all. We got in because we are a top team in CONCACAF. Losing to Mexico is okay. Losing to Costa Rica is still okay. But if we lose to another country outside of those two, then there is a very real possibility you don't qualify.

And really, Panama/Honduras aren't pushovers. They can beat us on one of their good days. Luckily for us, CONCACAF get 3.5 spots in the world cup. So worst case scenario, we get 4th place and have to go take care of New Zealand for the last spot.

Tebow did it again. This is getting insane. He plays like crap for 99% of the game, and then in the last five minutes accounts for 92 of 95 yards on the game winning drive, including a pretty awesome TD run.

I find that absolutely amazing that people believe that! Of course we have to qualify.
As far as being a top team in CONCACAF...I'm not so sure about that anymore. It was definitely the case. But it appears that lately the other teams in this conference have more than caught up. Defeating those teams is not a given anymore. And...Mexico is definitely a powerhouse..better than we are at the moment.
We shall see. Hopefully Klinsmann's plan will have done it's magic by June...hopefully Stuart Holden will be healthy again...hopefully Landon Donovan will be willing to participate!
