You got it! Great job! I really love that banner, always have. Probably because Alexis Bledel gets two pictures, and I have an amazingly huge crush on her. Look at those eyes and try to tell me you don't have a crush on her. __________________

She was adorable as Rory. Especially early seasons Rory. Then she kind of went to the dark side. Mostly with Logan. *shudders* I hated that guy.

Thanks for the new thread, B. Also, I also hated Logan and Logan/Rory. As did Michelle. Early Rory was perfection.

I couldn't stand Logan either, although he did grow on me a little in S7, when he grew up a bit. (On an Everwood related note: Matt Czuchry co-starred in a play with Sarah Drew last year. The knowledge of that was one of the things that made the Nick scenes so weird to recap in those last two episodes.) So of course, I never could get on board with the Rory/Logan relationship, either, especially as it coincided with Rory's rapid switch from "awesome book nerd" to "society matron wannabe and occasional felon."
The Rory/Dean affair, her introduction to the Life & Death Brigade crowd, her extreme overreaction to Mitchum Huntzberger's valid criticism, and her S6 Mary Sue-ification ("Oh please be our editor, oh special recent drop-out!") really damaged her, and the show in general, for me, since Rory had been my favorite character in the first four seasons. I was glad that she was somewhat redeemed in S7, with her storyline focusing primarily on school and career goals again. Though, with that came the unfortunate introduction of Lucy and Olivia, and the utterly unnecessary destruction of poor, formerly wonderful Marty as a character. __________________

Word to your thoughts, Thief. I can watch Rory season 1-3 and most of four 4 anytime, but she's just awful later on. Of course, those latter seasons are pretty much a jumbled mess anyway. It was still an enjoyable show and there were some fantastic episodes (even a good bunch of them), but it was not the Gilmore Girls I knew and loved. The acting still rocked for the most part, at least. __________________

I sort of liked Logan. In comparison to Jess however...I loved him. Jess was a dick and selfish and just a major pain in the ass. The only time I didn't like Rory was season 6...of course, I didn't really like anything in that season, so I guess that doesn't say much. But The Palladinos seriously screwed that season into the ground, I honestly couldn't believe it got that bad.
You kids and your Gossip Girl. *shakes head* __________________

Well, now I'm the odd one out, because I liked Jess. Not when S2 and 3 were first airing (though I did always love the Luke/Jess scenes -- "That's your room," heh), but when I watched them again once the series went into syndication I found him more compelling, and appreciated the intellectual connection he and Rory had going there before they actually dated. Plus, you have to admit he ultimately turned out pretty well, all things considered.

I'm a hard-core Narc (though I hated that Rory lost her virginity to Dean in the way that it happened), but loved platonic Rory and Jess.
I think I need to see the last third of s6 and all of s7 at some point because I haven't seen the episodes except for the series finale and like 5 minutes at the end for the first half of s7 'cause I was waiting for Veronica Mars to come on. Not the second half because I had a Tuesday night class and thus watched VM on delay so there was no need to turn on GG. __________________

I don't exactly hate Jess, I just didn't like him. Hee. He was a jerk. I liked Dean. Aw, Dean. Now that was a good guy. Especially when Jess joined the show, I still wanted the season one magic, you know? It's like season two Everwood and Colin's dead, there's some drugged out guy with huge eyebrows in his place, an annoying babysitter inexplicably having a relationship with Ephram, and Amy's turned to the dark side. I can be a bit resistant to change when it comes to my shows, especially when that change is away from two of my favourite seasons of any show. Looking back at Everwood, I see why change had to happen, and I ended up quite liking season two. I haven't done that with Gilmore Girls, though, so who knows, I might love the Jess stuff later.
I do think Jess was a jerk and did some selfish things with Rory and Luke and in general acted like The Bad Boy, but yeah, him and Luke were hilarious a lot of the time and Rory and he did have some sort of a spark (although he did make her treat Dean like crap). It's mostly weird seeing the guy who played Jess is now the guy who is shirtless in, like, every episode of Heroes flexing his millions of muscles and acting all tough. Now that's change! And I can't totally hate Jess because of the episode where he comes back to Stars Hollow and puts Rory in her place. Quote:

Oh, no, you watching and liking Gossip is way worse. Like Thief pointed out, he did get better towards the end. But even before, his debauchery(right word, yes?) was much lighter than Jess'. Jess was rude and judgemental towards Stars Hollow, towards Lorelai and Luke, he made moves on Rory while she was with Dean. I just...did not like him at all. Or Milo V. at the time either. I'm good with him now, but back then I was very annoyed when he was on screen.
Logan...uh....aside from the whole getting Rory in trouble with the law and her subsequent moving into Emily/Richards...and having a bastard father, was he so bad? __________________

-- By the way, just a little mod mention that I wanted to make sure that people know that we can talk about OT music in this thread too. We did a little bit last year, so just making it explicit in the title and here. If you've got an artist you're really liking, or a song, or an album, or whatever, share it. I'm personally always looking for new (and old) music to listen to. On that note, I'd like to thank Thief for her recommendations in the Official Music Soundtrack thread (which I will definitely have to get back to!) for Belle & Sebastian! I don't know what song I had listened to and disliked by them before, but I liked all the songs you recommended from Dear Catastrophe Waitress and I really loved "Like Dylan in the Movies" too. I'll have to go more in depth into their albums. I sadly have a huge list of artists I try in a given month, yes even with music I'm a total nerd, so I've put them on for October. __________________
