1. The art professor appreciates when her future TAs are critical of her work. Felicity passed with flying colors...

2. Elena and Felicity friendship scene appears on the screen. S4 might have some tough storylines ahead but five episodes in and S4 has more friendship scenes than all of S3.

3. Elena looking forward to checking out guys at the party means at least for now, she’s ready to date again and move on from Tracy.

4. I love Elena teasing Richard about his three friends and possibly sporting a pie costume for Halloween.

5. Javier mentions the door was wide open. It’s like a running joke how they never lock the door.

6. Interesting… I mentioned during last couple episodes something might be going on between Javier and Samuel and now they’re in a fight. Are they separating eventually?

7. The group hug Javier demands is adorable… Javier, Felicity and Elena hugging it out as Javier wants the hug to last forever.

8. Ben is attending another meeting. Molly not at the meeting means she’s back in England. For closure it sure would have been nice informing the audience.

9. Ben is starting to tell an important story... I am very intrigued since he now believes he will get through pre-med. Awesome.

10. Ben and Trevor are pissed the professor in organic chemistry didn’t prepare the class for the test.

11. What a cute Felicity and Ben bed scene discussing organic chemistry. It’s funny how they are depicting organic chemistry as the devil basically. I never heard my sister complain about organic chemistry being super tough. She always had her head buried in a book but she received straight As. Felicity is supportive and they are so meant to be.

12. Meghan and Sean are bickering away… Meghan got spotted by a magazine.

13. One of the students recognizes Felicity from the beauty pageant and based on his response to her you can tell he is going to be a problem.

14. What? The professor was arrested for shoplifting. What on earth. The professor told Felicity to take the scarf because she had hundreds just like it. LMAO.

15. Now Felicity has to teach her class alone.

16. Poor Javier is anxious over Samuel not calling and wants to drag Noel to Atlantic City to see Lionel Richie.

17. Oh man, I love Javier but he told Noel he knows about the cheating. He really should not have told him he knew. It was funny when he asked Noel if he was going to stick around and watch Ben and Felicity thin in their costumes.

18. That organic chemistry professor is a tool. I can see why Ben and Trevor questioned why he didn’t tell them a certain part of the material would be on the test.

19. I really like Trevor. I think Trevor and Ben have a good friendship. I like that he didn’t blame Ben for getting kicked out. I just don’t want them drinking so much. Go play basketball, boys. Basketball and Gatorade is better for you.

20. Sean and Meghan look brilliant in their costumes.

21. I am impressed Meghan understands and aces all of these classic politicians from past history.

22. I actually think this little mini trip to Atlantic City for Javier and Noel is a good idea. Play some slots or cards, have fun.

23. Elena is right. Felicity should not care about those stupid students. Channel what Elena is saying as well as Sarah, Felicity.

24. Elena and Felicity look great and Richard as Darth Vader looks good too. I love how Felicity and Elena cheered him on to go after that girl. I absolutely adore these friendship scenes in S4.

25. Sean and Meghan are cute. I like how Sean explained that Meghan’s parents and their opinion of him has weighed heavily on his mind so he wants to find a way to make money. It does make sense. But you can’t mess with Meghan’s individuality. Their flirting and kissing is adorable. When Meghan says he’s getting into his role as Jack… hilarious.

26. Ben and Trevor are very drunk at the party… Felicity notices right away. Felicity knows they got kicked out of organic chemistry.

27. Javier kissing the money while gambling is hilarious. Jackpot!

28. Richard cannot get his Darth Vader mask off.

29. You can totally tell Felicity understands something is about to happen due to the Ben and Trevor situation.

30. Trevor needs to stop drinking. Ben switched to water.

31. I adore this Ben and Felicity scene. Poor Ben remembering his dad when his rotten professor wouldn’t even listen to him.

32. Richard, why wouldn’t you make sure the mask could be easily removed? Idiot. Elena tried to help him.

33. I love the Ben and Felicity moments, just Felicity being there for him and listening is everything.

34. Trevor needs help and fast.

35. Trevor is in a coma. I love the Ben and Felicity hand holding. They are so perfect together.

36. Richard and the Darth Vader mask need to separate. Not sure why Richard wants to keep something plastered to his head that won’t move.

37. Javier and Noel lost most of the jackpot money.

38. So there is Lionel Richie…

39. Sean is right about Meghan’s goth look not necessarily being original.

40. Those students are horrible to Felicity. The dude giving her so much crap worked for the pageant so what’s he even going on about even if the other student had some points about artists and obstacles they face (commercial and material concerns).

41. Good Ben told the professor what happened to Trevor. I love how Ben handled this... calmly and just told him like it was. It was a great moment, showing how much Ben has evolved. He is not only angry anymore, he can channel his anger now like never before and just use logical calm and intellect when needed.

42. Javier was going to call Samuel but Samuel called first. Cute. I don’t like the comment asking Noel how he does it without the one he loves though.

43. This Elena talk with Felicity is mint. I love the words. Own your mistakes and get some strength from them. Don’t apologize for who you are. Listen to Sage Elena, Felicity. Elena is like an Angel with the purest words of advice.

44. Felicity walking in wearing the gown was PERFECT. Of course it was funny seeing the new professor all confused over why she looks like she’s going to an award show.

45. Meghan… changing her wardrobe is awesome. Telling Sean not to steal it was so cool.

46. What a twist seeing Hodges at the hospital. He commends Ben for his actions and admits he was wrong, inviting them back to class. He even admits he has a son Ben’s age.

47. Ben’s speech at the meeting tying together the haunting moments with his father and explaining why he wants to become a doctor makes so much sense.

48. Ben: It's just funny how something good comes out of something so bad.

Profound.

49. I like Trevor. I love the developing friendship between Ben and Trevor.

50. I love the end scene showing Felicity sitting there waiting for Ben and they grab hands and walk away together… spiritual… they are unstoppable.






Halloween & Friendship

It’s Halloween! Elena and Felicity are planning a big party and everyone’s working on their costumes. It’s fun and though it ends with some drama, it still feels like a big improvement over S3, which contains basically no friendship moments. I know we’re only five episodes into S4 but the friendship moments are great which is a definite plus for this season. (Even knowing the cheating reveal is coming.)


Felicity gets an art TA position from an eccentric, scarf-loving professor

What horrible luck for Felicity having to take over teaching the class since the professor is a psychotic thief. Felicity has to teach the class on her own for a couple days until they find a replacement professor, and she has trouble gaining her students’ respect, because one student saw Felicity in the beauty pageant and immediately informs the rest of the class. He worked for the pageant so what is he doing? Idiot. Everyone either mocks her or outright judges her, and Felicity’s humiliated, until Elena gives her an Elena Tyler speech (friendship moment!) and tells her, “You have to stop apologizing for who you are and what you’ve done. You’ve got to own your mistakes and get some strength from them.” Felicity takes this excellent advice and wears her pageant evening gown to class, and it's all kinds of awesome. It is an empowering moment.

I really loved this storyline. I love how brave Felicity was and when we get a famous Elena speech it’s like the cherry on top. S4 is showing Felicity embracing her warrior-like strength. She got back at the mean girl at the pageant and this episode she's proving a point to the class. Perfect.


Ben

I have to say Ben was brilliant throughout this entire storyline. This was the key moment of the episode... showing Ben's evolution, calmness, strength, figuring out his career path, intellectually sorting through his issues instead of relying on anger. I love how the writers have not dropped how much his father still affects him. Ben is getting through it all, he is an amazing character. I can now perfectly understand why he wants to become a doctor and like he said... he feels that he can do this now. That maybe it's not about the
person who's the best student… maybe… it's about the person who cares the most. Ben cares the most.



Javier

Javier is feeling under-appreciated by Samuel, so he gets Noel to go with him to Atlantic City to see the Lionel Richie, Javier’s #1 favorite singer! Once they get there, they find out the show is sold out, and scalper tickets are upwards of $800. Javier’s determined to win the money at slots, and he does win a jackpot, but then quickly loses it all. Typical. Been there. Crushed, he and Noel take a bathroom break and run into… Lionel Richie! Richie autographs a paper towel for Javier (politely declining Javier’s first request of “my chest”) and then gives him love advice: “Always say, ‘Honey, you’re right.'” Later, Samuel calls to apologize, but he and Javier are about to get in another fight when Noel reminds Javier of Lionel’s advice. Javier tells Samuel, “Honey, you’re right,” and they sweetly make up.

I have to say I am still feeling negative energy coming from the Javier and Samuel marriage since Javier is always around the group now and less around Samuel. I would not be surprised if more trouble is to come for Javier and Samuel.

I did not like Javier telling Noel he knew about sleeping with Felicity. I do not think that was right of him to go there. Felicity told him to remain silent. I love Javier but did not agree that he told Noel.


Everyone’s Costumes

Elena and Felicity are super hot witches, Meghan and Sean are Jackie-O and JFK (Sean’s wig!), and Richard is Darth Vader.


Richard

Darth Vader Richard meets a very cute Leia at the party, and they’re really hitting it off, but when he goes to take off his helmet, he realizes it’s stuck on his head. Elena does her best to help him, but not in time for him to get together with Leia. Richard is Richard. Elena was great for trying.


Sean’s Big Idea

Sean and Meghan are walking down the street when a “tastemaker” from “Teenybopper Magazine” snaps a pic of Meghan’s homemade shirt (the sleeves are tube socks!). Sean’s impressed and convinced that this could be the solution to their money problems, and he wants to commercialize Meghan’s look. Meghan of course despises that idea because her individuality is so important to her, but Sean points out that her goth/punk look is kind of everywhere these days anyway. She later sees multiple classmates rocking her look, so she throws out all of her clothes and tells Sean they can start a fashion company based on her old style. In addition, she says that her new look will be inspired by her Jackie-O costume! Sean was super turned on by her costume so he of course loves this news, and I have to agree, because she looks awesome.

I wondered why Meghan changed her looks drastically in S4 just checking out some clips a while back. Now I know why!


Friends

“Boooz” has so many great friendship moments! Future S4 hell storylines might be approaching but friendship is one thing S4 is accomplishing perfectly.


Cameo

I love that Lionel Richie actually guest-starred as himself on an episode of Felicity.


Ben and Felicity

I loved all their scenes. They are so perfect for each other. They can communicate and talk effortlessly, or even just holding hands in silence together. They work, and are meant to be. Which is why Felicity cheating is so frustrating. It was so pointless and means absolutely nothing. Of course it's going to be massive when Ben's finds out but Felicity only loves Ben and wants to be with Ben. I hope Ben remembers this when he finds out.

Seriously, Felicity was so unconditionally there for Ben in this episode, just in bed looking at him, listening to him, there for him, her words, the way they share little moments talking, just being together as one, the holding hands. The last scene at the hospital when Felicity is sitting there waiting for Ben... the scene was constructed in such a spiritual way. It was so powerful, the entire moment... it really was like they merged together, grabbing hands... like they were not even two people there, they were merged, gliding in an airy way, in love, stronger together... all energy meshed as one... one... twin flames.

I hate how Felicity is worried about her friendship with Noel and this is after she dumped Ben and he has no idea what’s going on. Who cares about Noel right now, Felicity.

I don’t agree with Pavone that Felicity deep down has always wanted to be with Noel as well. I don’t believe that at all. I know that I should because we have been taught that Pavone tells the truth, but I just don’t see it. Felicity hasn’t even thought of Noel in a romantic way since S1.

I've only seen 2 eps of season 4 so i can't really say yet how I feel about it, but I do think its been strong writing wise. I dont like the plots this season, but so far, its not awful of course.

Meghan's plan to kiss Tracy was so stupid! Sean was right. Why is Meghan trying to cause unnecessary drama? I also think he was spot on saying that she was pushing people away to see how far she could push them. I was glad when she went to Elena and apologized.

Felicity's hickey was so insane. But hello girl, make up exists? I did like the scenes with the therapist. I do think she is right that Felicity has been dancing around the triangle for years and isnt sure what she wants. But I do still believe she loves Ben more. She could tell Ben she cheated but not who with??? But if it were me I honestly wouldn't ever tell Ben, at least if I knew I wanted to be with him long term, cuz it would only hurt him and destroy the relationship. But, thats me. I know its not the right thing to do for a lot of people.

Richard is so annoying!

T/E having sex is not a good idea because then there will be no reason to get married anymore. (Tho they shouldn't get married to begin with if its only about the sex). I was glad when they didn't get married, sort of. But I also didn't think Meghan and Sean should have gotten married either. Those two have so many issues. But they are both crazy so storyline wise I guess it works.

WHERE THE HELL IS MOLLY? Did they ever explain that?

I felt terrible for Ben after Felicity said she wanted a break but I also sort of understand why she did that. But i also felt so bad for Ben because he doesn't really understand WHY she did it? And does she REALLY want to be with Noel again??? Come on girl.

It really feels like she is choosing Noel over Ben right now, which is super annoying, but she should just end it with Ben then... This back and forth is just crazy tho. I do think Felicity has always danced around them both and played the "what if" game with Noel, but really only when she was feeling down about something or when she didnt have Ben. Its so obvious in seasons 1-3 that she loved and chose Ben first, always. So its a bit annoying to sort of see things being re-written.

However, a full year ahead and others are finding out about it too... that is the stupid part of it all. Three other people know already (as of 4.5). It is just dumb. Ben was going to find out eventually given all the others finding out.

What's so stupid about this is Tracy and Elena have already had sex. They did not need marriage to continue to date and still have intimacy. Marriage was never necessary.

I find it interesting that never once does Felicity and Noel have a conversation about if they should be together. It's not even in the cards. We know Noel would want this, but Felicity does not which is why a conversation has not happened.

Yeah that is true, it sucks that other people (stupidly) found out. Her and Noel should have just never said a word. And denied it forever.

Meghan’s parents didn’t know Sean, her boyfriend, is the one she spent the past two summers with in Europe? Meghan and Sean even used their properties in Europe.

What? Sean hasn’t been paying rent or the rent checks haven’t been going through? How would he not know this? I guess it was over the summer when he was in Europe. Was it Felicity’s responsibility for making sure rent was handled but she was too busy hanging out with Noel? /sarcasm

This organic chemistry makes me think about my sister. She truly has a brilliant mind. I still cannot believe my sister aced all these advanced science and math courses. She is Elena. My sister has always been my hero.

Okay, Sean was too critical of his dad but my guess is there’s more to come.

Felicity, just ask your parents for money. Call your mom, she can help you. You don’t need to talk to your dad (who is the parent you were directly fighting with) since they are divorced. Call your mom and she will help you.

Trevor seems cool… I hope I am correct in thinking this.

Javier has been spending a lot of time with the group which is awesome but are we experiencing some kind of foreshadowing with Javier's marriage being on the rocks?

I do have to say it was nice of Noel to try to pay her tuition.

Will we ever find out if she’s back in England officially? It’s not a big deal since she never had a prominent secondary role but we don’t even know the result of James behind bars and if he was convicted or not. I guess the final part of that storyline was mostly used for stupid Avery testifying.

Joey is played by Brad Grunberg. That’s cool the real life brothers were on the screen together. Abrams is probably childhood friends with both brothers if even closer to Greg.
