4.3 Your Money or Your Wife



1. Where did all of Sean’s money go? He doesn’t have a steady job, but you would think he has enough money for a ring collecting rent from the others.

2. Understandable Meghan’s parents are surprised their daughter got married (they didn’t know/weren’t invited to the wedding). In addition, when we met Meghan’s parents it seemed they were unaware of Meghan’s Goth look and since Meghan hid it from them, you would assume they are fairly conservative and/or protective.

3. Meghan’s parents didn’t know Sean, her boyfriend, is the one she spent the past two summers with in Europe? Meghan and Sean even used their properties in Europe.

4. Ben and Felicity do not want to remain broken up. That’s sweet. The only problem is Ben thinks they can immediately reunite without any other issues to resolve since he doesn’t know Felicity cheated with Noel. Felicity, you should have told Ben about your mistake with Noel. Reuniting now is obviously something Felicity wants, but she is not being truthful and the cheating will inevitably be revealed eventually and poor Ben is going to feel even more betrayed finding out Felicity didn’t immediately tell him.

5. Felicity feels guilty and goes to Javier for advice. Felicity told Javier she cheated on Ben and called it a mistake. It was a mistake, nothing more to it, but Felicity has to tell Ben. Ben deserves the truth. If college was over, maybe a case can be made it would be better not to tell him because deep down it was just a mistake. Problem is they are still in college, running around with the same circle of friends so it’s inevitable Ben is eventually going to find out the truth. Ben is absolutely going to be devastated.

6. I wonder where the “O Chem” for Organic Chemistry label is coming from. Is it just a Felicity thing? My sister is a scientist, and I don’t remember her ever, past or present, calling Organic Chemistry, “O Chem.” LOL.

7. Poor Ben not only doesn’t know Felicity cheated but feels self conscious about pre-med.

8. Ben looks so happy kissing Felicity and she feels so guilty, overthinking everything. See, this is the worst thing she could have done, reuniting with him, without being truthful. This sucks. I love that they feel they cannot stay away from each other (TWIN FLAMES), but Felicity has to be honest with Ben. She is digging an even deeper hole at this point.

9. I know Javier cares deeply for Ben, but the fact that he is so empathetic and supportive of Felicity and her feelings shows Javier and Felicity definitely have the closest friendship.

10. What? Sean hasn’t been paying rent or the rent checks haven’t been going through? How would he not know this? I guess it was over the summer when he was in Europe. Was it Felicity’s responsibility for making sure rent was handled but she was too busy hanging out with Noel? /sarcasm

11. Meghan saying she wears the pants in the family is true. Meghan wore the pants even before they got married. LOL.

12. Felicity receives only 75 dollars for tuition. She needs to call her parents.

13. Javier came to the US to be an actor. I love learning new things about Javier.

14. Javier is right, Felicity could definitely win a beauty contest.

15. Noel appears. Javier looks like he wants Noel away from Felicity.

16. Natalie’s lawyer is there for Noel… does the lawyer want to discuss money?

17. Trevor… is he the new Molly? Speaking of Molly… will we ever find out where she is right now?

18. This organic chemistry makes me think about my sister. She truly has a brilliant mind. I still cannot believe my sister aced all these advanced science and math courses. She is Elena. My sister has always been my hero.

19. Shut up and take the money, Noel.

20. Sean’s dad must be a loose canon if Sean is so nervous having him around Meghan’s parents.

21. Okay, Sean was too critical of his dad but my guess is there’s more to come.

22. A Felicity and Elena friendship scene is gold. Elena, you made the right decision not marrying Tracy.

23. Ben overhearing Elena and Felicity talking about him in pre-med is sad but Felicity said loving and encouraging words about Ben and I am glad he overheard her thoughts.

24. That is cool Meghan bought the book for Sean. It’s also nice finding out two years ago Meghan stopped fake dressing to please her parents and instead started to dress naturally around them whether they liked it or not. Good!

25. Felicity, just ask your parents for money. Call your mom, she can help you. You don’t need to talk to your dad (who is the parent you were directly fighting with) since they are divorced. Call your mom and she will help you.

26. I do love how Felicity confided in Javier about the situation with Ben and the cheating. At least she has Javier. I’d rather she confide in Javier over stupid Noel.

27. Felicity, who cares Noel is moving.

28. Poor Sean and the money situation but I am still confused over how he didn’t see the money issues coming.

29. Trevor seems cool… I hope I am correct in thinking this.

30. Sean has a brother. Okay so Sean’s parents are going to the brunch.

31. Poor Javier, the audition is a quick disaster.

32. Oh man, they’re taking away all of Sean’s furniture and getting ready to evict him. This is not good.

33. It was nice of Noel to offer loaning Felicity the tuition money but I still don’t like him right now.

34. Poor Ben up all night and still didn’t pass the lab. I wish my sister could have helped him ace it. LOL.

35. Now Sean is after Noel’s money for an investment business thing.

36. How cute seeing Javier over at Felicity’s making omelettes for the two of them (with fruit). I also love how he was scared Felicity and Ben broke up.

37. Felicity could win that pageant so I can see why Javier keeps suggesting she give it a try.

38. Meghan’s parents are filthy rich.

39. This brunch is either going to be great or a total disaster.

40. Tracy is going on another church mission for a semester determined to forget about Elena. Thanks, Scrubs. We want Tracy on Felicity even if Scrubs is cool.

41. THIS BEN AND ELENA SCENE IS EVERYTHING. I was not expecting it! Ben is a sage and so sweet giving the perfect advice as Elena is in tears over Tracy. Beautiful! Then they discussed Ben knowing Elena mentioned the 6 weeks pre-med thing. I absolutely adore this Ben and Elena scene.

42. The brunch… Meghan’s parents are wealthy due to… owning ROTUNDI ELEVATORS.

43. Sean is a Yankees fan. As a sports fanatic, it is good to know.

44. Sean is totally his dad… the parallel of making money going with weird inventions is obvious.

45. It was sweet of Noel to loan Sean money without Sean even asking. That hug with Sean not wanting to let go was cute.

46. Elena saves the day and helps Ben and Trevor with the lab.

47. Does Elena date Trevor? They seem to have sparks.

48. Sean and his dad make up which is good.

49. Felicity is calling her dad, but she doesn’t ask him for financial help.

50. Javier was offered a part after all.

51. The Ben and Felicity scene is really cute. They are going to the movie and kissing so sweetly.

52. Noel and Sean are moving Sean’s stuff back inside.

53. Poor Elena’s heart is breaking having to say goodbye to Tracy.

54. Felicity is going for the beauty contest after all.

55. Yes, Ben passed the lab.

56. Good deal, Javier is in the chorus.

57. Meghan and Noel scene… Meghan is cut off financially unless she gets rid of Sean.

58. Sean giving Meghan the ring (with a promise for a real one later ) is adorable. What a scene. They are so cute and perfect for each other.





Ben & Felicity


It is so cute they couldn’t stay away from each other and their kiss at the end is adorable. But Ben not knowing about the cheating is heartbreaking and he’s going to be so hurt Felicity not only cheated but did not tell him right away. I still love them so will naturally adore their scenes until the tornado arrives as Ben finds out the horrible news.



Felicity & Javier


It was great seeing these two spend so much time together. I love how Javier is scared Felicity and Ben will break up. I also never knew he wanted to be an actor... at least he got a part in the chorus. I love how Javier and Felicity ate omelettes and fruit together. They have such a close friendship. I do wonder where Javier's husband is though. Javier has been spending a lot of time with the group which is awesome but are we experiencing some kind of foreshadowing with Javier's marriage being on the rocks?



Elena & Ben & Trevor


What a special moment between Ben and Elena. It was unexpected, but so vital for Elena, who was breaking down. What Ben said to her on why Elena couldn’t marry Tracy was perfect. I also love how Elena did find out Ben overheard the conversation she had with Felicity and she ended up working with Ben and Trevor. Speaking of Trevor… will this be Ben’s new friend and classmate and did I also sense sparks between Elena and Trevor?

I need way more Elena and Ben scenes. They are great together and as two people closest to Felicity (along with Javier and Meghan) it feels so perfect.

I love when they have private scenes together. I hope we continue getting scenes between them since this is the last season... I love these two.



Noel Inheritance


It is kind of strange Noel did actually get the money but the continuity is great. I like how the writers did not forget about this storyline. However, I thought Noel told her that they couldn't remain married, but could try again. Not that he even took it seriously since he was after Felicity and stalking Jane... I guess things got messed up after he found out she met someone else and the marriage was never legally severed. I do like how he really didn’t want the money. I say a lot of negative things about Noel but most people wouldn’t think twice about the money and embrace the luck regardless. He did feel guilty/poorly about the situation. It was also nice of him to want to help out Felicity with her tuition and certainly even after Sean tried playing him, Noel immediately opened up his checkbook to Sean.

Noel is profusely flawed but under the right circumstances he can be very kind and giving.

Will these two go into business together? I have a feeling maybe Sean’s outlandish potential invention (and Noel loaning him money) is foreshadowing they will work together in the future.

Initially, I was mad that Felicity even cared he was moving. I do have to say it was nice of Noel to try to pay her tuition.



Molly


Will we ever find out if she’s back in England officially? It’s not a big deal since she never had a prominent secondary role but we don’t even know the result of James behind bars and if he was convicted or not. I guess the final part of that storyline was mostly used for stupid Avery testifying.



Meghan and Sean


I thought Sean was overreacting about his father, but as we see, he knew his father would pull something like he did at Meghan‘s parents place. Overall, he means well, his father. There was a direct parallel between Sean and his father, they are alike.

Meghan’s father is a tool. How dare he threaten to cut her off if she doesn’t get rid of Sean.

I love how Meghan bought the book for Sean and then Sean and the promise of a real ring was absolutely adorable.

Side note: We find out why Meghan’s family is rich… they founded Rotundi Elevators.

Side note Part 2: Joey is played by Brad Grunberg. That’s cool the real life brothers were on the screen together. Abrams is probably childhood friends with both brothers if even closer to Greg.




FINAL THOUGHT


J.J. Abrams never inserts anything without it meaning something…

The movie “Say Anything” Felicity suggested for a movie with Ben... the theme is Honesty/Dishonesty, and the movie is the story of how the young woman is able to weather a terrible storm and be stronger and better afterward… sounds like... Felicity.

I am completely shocked Felicity is keeping the truth from Ben about the cheating. It’s so horrible. She’s not stupid, she HAS to know he’s eventually going to find out. The cheating is bad enough… but to literally reunite without telling him the truth is almost worse than the cheating. It’s so disrespectful. I mentioned a case can be made if the cheating happened right before they were done with college and immediately back in California not telling him could work since they wouldn’t be around Noel anymore and Felicity clearly isn’t confused over her feelings. She knows it was a mistake, she doesn’t want Noel romantically, she only wants Ben. But a full year is ahead of them and Ben is going to find out. She needs to tell him. This is so heartbreaking. She’s indirectly making a fool out of Ben now, like the joke’s on Ben, and it is NOT COOL. Tell him, Felicity. You love him. Show it.
