We just love sports and we love to watch it. That's why. We've got lucky that lot of us watch lots of sports to comment in this thread.

Well in volleyball CL playoffs there are two games. The first game Trentino lost with 3:2. They had their chances in the tie break, but they couldn't turn them in points and Dynamo won. Now Dynamo weren't stupid and knew that Trentino (being the team that it is) will try to win their second game in Italy in front of their own public. So Dynamo didn't play in the game like at all. I mean seriously - they were a bit simulating. They for sure didn't play at their best. Trentino won and they had one golden set which is like tie break. The team that reaches 15 points first (with 2 points behind their opponent) wins the set and advances. In this golden set Dynamo showed their real class and crushed Trentino with good serve. On the other hand Trentino's players were tired from the game and couldn't serve that well so they lost.

Yes, I remember when this sports thread was first created. It was back in 2005. So many kept talking sports on OT. I was mod back then during my first stint. I pmd Jerry and asked if I could create the thread because back then, no one had sports threads on the boards unless we are talking the threads on the Sports board. He said that was a great idea, so I created it, and the rest is history. If you look around the boards, there are sports threads on other boards now, too. Also, we started the OT2 and OT3 trend as well.

We are artists on this board.

Sounds like he's very high on Zusi. Have you seen Will Bruin? I find it interesting that JK is talking about attitude. I really wonder if Landon is in the back of his head when he goes there. Landon's attitude is absolutely not where it needs to be right now and if this continues, he really will voluntarily or involuntarily be left off the team.

You're right, Koni. It was a great idea for sports fans. What happened on OT was the people who didn't want to talk sports got very bored and even irritated. You could absolutely tell this was the case. My co mod at the time didn't like sports at all but loved talking very general OT stuff so she was happy we took sports elsewhere.

I could imagine Michelle . I myself like sports a lot, but I know people who are not that fascinated and they got bored and irritated when I talk about teams that I like or sport that I want to watch.

My cousin (the lawyer) for example can't stand soccer . She can't understand how I could for example prefer watching an interesting game than watching movie or hang out with someone. She actually don't want to watch sports, but yeah she has special opinion about soccer.

I think that the attitude and mentality is a big part of the sport. It's not that easily noticed because we all look at the athletes and measure them on how they are doing and how technical they are, but it's big a factor. If you don't want to win, if you are not determined to fight and you don't know why you are playing, I don't see how you will do something.

Btw when are your next games for the World Cup 2014? I think that they must be February/March. Betty do you have an idea?

I think the writing's on the wall and you're right on in feeling like he will shun the Nat team. It really seems that way. He sucks in my mind, I am sorry. I believe he has a responsibility to play for our squad if he can and he certainly can. If he's not into it, go away. I hope JK kisses him off. I am sick of him being catered to.

Koni, what type of law practice does your cousin do? I have a friend who is a lawyer too.

Michelle I think that the players should choose for themselves if they want to play in the NT or not. There is no point in someone playing when they don't want. This way not only they will stop the team, but also will take place of someone else that actually wants to play. If you don't have motivation, there is no point doing something.

So no matter how good Landon is, if he doesn't want to play, it's better to find him sub (not only for his position, but also someone to operate as a leader in the team on the field during the games) than trying to use him when he is not mentally there.

Betty thanks for the information. Did your team played one game against Honduras or this will be your first game with them? Do you have any idea how good they are and if they are beatable ?

My cousin usually deals with business law, but sometimes she has also family courts (mostly dealing with divorce). She doesn't deal with serious civil crimes like murder, drug dealership etc. She either deals with setting business contracts and all that stuff or setting up divorce papers and sometimes going on court for children custody. What your friend does usually?

I feel like Landon's an attention seeking moody person and it's pathetic. He knows he's the face of soccer here in America and with that, in my mind, comes a responsibility. He certainly embraced that responsibility when he was collecting tons of money with all the endorsements. I still think he's upset with the fact that Clint and Michael have surpassed him. There is something about the way things have gone down ever since our previous manager of the team left.

If I knew it was because it's only about him and nothing else stupid on the side, that is one thing. There are other elements in play. I will be pissed if he comes back if/when we qualify for World Cup or when we are about to when all the work's done. Or I will be upset if he has every intention to come back eventually but is delaying it because he's lazy and unmotivated right now.. He has a certain nickname for a reason. He is missing precious time gelling with the team, developing more chemistry with Michael and Clint. It's just ridiculous.
