Didn't get that extra goal differential lead against Portugal but the win is WAY more important!

Like I said, Portugal has to now deal with Iran in their final group match which will not be easy!

Seriously, Iran was a tough test though. They really were. Spain did what they needed to do with possession and patience. They got it done. But yes, they will have to up their level a bit as they evolve into the tournament.

Oh without having watched Morocoo/Portugal I do believe that Iran is way tougher compared to Morocco. So yeah Spain had more difficult compared to Portugal today. That's for sure. Still though they have to do better with the attacking part. They control the ball well, but they can't make create a lot of interesting situations for scoring. They need work on this.

If Iran wins over Portugal then yes they can advance. The tournament is not over for Iran and they still have something to fight for. The thing is can they recover from this game to play another one like that against Portugal.

Excellent point. They had to give it their all against Spain. 100%. Still came up short.

But maybe the incentive is advancing. They know they have one game to advance, just one, and they better go all out... or they should!
