I have noticed a pattern... many Brucas fans were also Pacey/Joey fans. Many. Not all, but many.

I've noticed that pattern too. I can't judge which group was worse, but I'd put my money on the P/Jers.

I can’t really either to be honest because I basically stayed only around certain threads but I’d bet you’re 100% correct.

not sure about specific fanbases, however, most DC fans became OTH fans and all their anger and angst transferred over and tensions were high

... which is precisely why I had to take a break after it became obvious the network was going to force Brucas 2.0. When that happened I was out as far as watching episodes regularly. I would follow the spoilers and check in and eventually watch later. But I sensed the DC > OTH transfer and knew I needed to get out temporarily since I wasn't going to put up with another volatile fanbase and lingering, ridiculous triangle.

Thank God I had Everwood, which, as you know, is nothing like either show... as a result, it made Everwood even more golden in my eyes.

When I see these gifs, I feel so pissed off... that such a beautiful pairing would have been pushed aside due to TPTB having an obsession with Katie Holmes, an average at best actor. She needed placed front and center no matter what even if it meant destroying anything that was actually genuine, pure and beautiful about this series. It is sickening. Never, have I ever witnessed a TV series sacrifice everything for one actor who wasn't even a very good actor. It continues to be mind-blowing.
