^ YES! That’s exactly it. Precisely what he was trying to do. Obviously it did not work.

I dunno if i agree with that. I know Mark was angry with Hilarie for leaving, but i think that he always loved Lucas/Peyton the most. He talked about them so much.

Hilarie said it, if Peyton and Lucas had stayed, they probably would have ruined them anyways, so I am glad they left tbh. I do wish they were in the finale, but besides that I was content with their story.

I don't really like the season for Brooke/Julian and I thought pairing up Clay/Quinn so quickly was a mistake imo.
C/Q and B/J both got together way too fast imo, there was barely any build up. But I thought C/Q at least worked well together as a couple. IMO B/J were horrendous in season 7. They really screwed them up that season. They managed to sort of fix things in season 8 and 9 but still...

Agreed, it's only the season where I can't think of one episode where I could rewatch.
The only episodes in season 8 that I thought were decent were the halloween episode and the bachelorette party ep (purely for comedic reasons and that is it) the episode where nathan discovered the car in his professors garage (i wanna say it was episode 17 but im not sure) and then maybe the storm episode. I think he finale was okay too but im not that familiar. With that said, they were still not great but they were okay.

Clay forgetting he had a son was super dumb.

I didnt mind Brookes storyline with Xavier. He was the one OTH psycho that imo was actually realisitc and that women face/deal with a lot. He was actualy creepy to me and i like that Brooke got closure on that storyline. Derek/Carrie/Katie were all just such a joke and I couldn't take those storylnes seriously at all.

Nice choices guys... we agree on a lot

My favorite episodes in order:
1) 1x06 - Agree with both of you on this one, this episode was just a CLASSIC. So funny but also had a lot of heart and I loved seeing Lucas and Nathan get along well.
2) 3x16- 100% the best episode ever imo. I was hooked from start to finish. The quotes were so good, it was exciting to watch, it wasn't your cliche shooter episode and ending either. LP scenes were great, and the bombshell ending was so good.
3) 6x23 - Agree with you both. Best episode of season and LP's wedding made it extra special but honestly I just think it was so well done. The ending was a shock too. NH were great. Some nice conclusions to this season were starting to happen too.
4) 1x01 - Agree with Michelle here. The pilot was just so good imo and really hooked me, I adore this episode and had such a nice/homey feel to it. All of season 1 did really but this was the start. LP were great too.
5) 3x22 - Phenomenal finale. So much happened. So many good quotes, loved all the little interactions between characters. Of course the car crash sequence and all that was just so epic.
6) 4x09 - Definitely a classic OTH episode, one you will always remember. LP were fantastic of course, I will remember that moment forever and when I watched it for the first time. Also enjoyed the drama that came at the end and stuff.
7) 9x11 - Gosh this episode was so good and so sad, but they did such a good job with it. I really love Paul and he did such a good job with Dan's character.
8) 4x21 - Great season finale. Could have been a series finale but not my favorite. I didnt LOVE the senior night party that much but the rivercoart scenes were great and I did like seeing everyone together and the different couple moments etc.
9) 5x05 - Sad episode but I agree, I loved it. IDK what iw as about it but I liked getting the answers on the between years. LP were great, but sad.
10) 9x13 - Series finale. I thought it was great. Wish we had LP or flashbacks but for the cast they had, I thought it was a really nice conclusion.

Some extra episodes I loved:
107 - Love this party and LP moments, season 1 was just so good. 113, 115, 120 were also great for me.
216- I loved this wedding episode, so much drama. Minus the JP stuff haha. I also thought 205 was good and fun but not amazing. 221 was a great season 2 episode as well and finally LP were interacting again.
Season 3 had such strong episodes! 309, 313, 314, 317, and 321 were all contenders for me.
410 I really enjoyed.
501, 509, 512 and 518 I also really liked. Personally I loved season 5.

Can't lie, LP are a big contributor to a lot of these episodes. haha

New 220 podcast was boring. They didnt talk much about the episode. But they seemed to like it better than the previous ones. I cant wait to see what they say about 221 and the LP interactions, if anything at all.

He did, but his bitterness clearly affected how he wrote both characters after they left imo.

Definitely, both couples needed more build up imo. Brooke/Julian weren't well written in S7 at all, but I don't think it helped that Austin and Sophia didn't have the chemistry to sell the angst well.

The Halloween episode was okay, but I still wouldn't go out of my way to rewatch imo. The bachelorette party was okay as well, but it was a bad follow up to the storm episode (which I wasn't a big fan of either).

It really was
I didn't mind him appearing again so Brooke could have some closure, but I didn't like him getting out of jail and anything beyond that.

Haven't listened to it, not a fan of the episode so I just skipped it.

I completely agree with you on Mark loving Lucas and Peyton. He really did and said as much in endless interviews. He made it known they were his pairing.

You have to wonder since he wasn't exactly playing with a full deck if he got petty and pissed off they left so he did try to show this on the screen. Who knows. He seemed so crazy in his mind Hilarie was leaving him, not the series, he probably took it personally he was that bizarre. Truth is, she was getting away from his darkness but overall I think he took it more like a break up almost.

But yes, 100%, he loved Lucas and Peyton.

That's an excellent point. I didn't know she said this... she is right!

Precisely how I feel as well... a finale appearance or mention would have been nice, but I still love their story.

The Alex/Julian thing was weird. Yes, JB got better in the following two years.

I don't remember those perfectly but have an idea while trying to recall.

Don't even get me started. As a psychologist... why, just why, did they go there so carelessly and without any actual realistic storyline?

Here's a question, you guys:

What are your top 5 (or 10, you pick the number) episodes you absolutely loathe... you hate so much you hardly ever (if EVER) watch again?

  1. 2x10 for BL related reasons
  2. 2x20 because I think the whole episode was dumb
  3. 4x16 because I find the whole Psycho Derek coming back thing was pretty dumb
  4. 5x08 because I hated seeing LL getting engaged (Chad and Hil's acting in that episode was the only good thing about it imo)
  5. 5x09 because the whole Lindsay/Peyton was just terrible and ages really poorly with what we know about Mark.
  6. 5x12 because I hated seeing Lucas saying I do to Peyton
  7. Just going to put on all of the post strike episodes on here because I really don't like anything about those episodes in general, especially that terrible phone call proposal cliffhanger which was just terrible in so many ways.
  8. Can't think of any particular episodes in the last 3 seasons that I hate, but I don't really like those seasons in general lol.

I love those and agree completely.

I will add:

8.14 Holding Out for a Hero

The Superhero stuff was horrible.

6.18 Searching For a Former Clarity

The dog eating the heart was a complete embarrassment. Even if the storyline was so outlandish and laughable, I hated it because it indirectly insulted real life and those who desperately need a new heart and either die or go through extreme anxiety before getting one. It is way too real of a reality to go there.

6.11 We Three (My Echo, My Shadow And Me)

Noir stuff didn't work for me.

One question they answered that was fun was which character they should be endgame with if not for their original endgame pairings. Shocked tbh that hilarie didnt actually say Jake lol. These were their answers:

Brooke/Mouth
Peyton/Skills
Haley/Jake

The Haley/Jake was mostly kind of a joke comment because they were so alike. They do seem to really like the idea of Mouth and Brooke right now... they will probably change their minds on that later lol.

It would have been so much better if the kid had been Sarah's kid that she had before she met Clay and never told him about. And then the kid was put up for adoption or something and Clay found it out and wanted to take care of him or something.

Or like, they found out Sara was pregnant before she died, and she slipped into a coma and was still able to carry the child but the parents chose not to tell Clay because he took her death too hard, idk, something. It was just weird

Or even, the kid was clays with another woman before Sarah that he never knew about, that would have been super realistic considering Clay slept around a lot...

They should on sunday but sometimes they take break weeks just to answer questions. Im still wondering if they are going to do a hiatus. They have to over the summer, surely they will have plans with family but who knows.

I loved season 5 despite all the LL ****. And I liked the superhero episode . It was dumb as hellllll but at least it was somewhat entertaining.

I also really enjoyed 611, I forgot to include it in my favorites. I liked the LP storyline in that one. I found it fun. Had it been in black and white I probably would have not liked it as much though cuz I hate the bw thing.

I would say:

Worst Episodes:
513 - Patience, Silence, Echoes, Grace or whatever its called.

HORRIBLE episode omg I was bored to death. The only thing I liked in this episode was Brookes speech to the adoption lady, and the LP flashback moment at the end for Peyton, but other than that, it was just dull as hell. All of them talking to counselors was so slow and Monster was in this one too so uh, no, pass.

604
This was the episode that Mick came to see Peyton. I just remember this entire episode boring me to tears.

808
Dont remember exactly what happened in tis one but just a lot of boring storylines. I think Brooke was shoved off with Sylvia and there was a lot of chase/mia drama. So dull.

805
The nanny carrie attack episode, just so so bad. lol.

There were a few more in seasons 6 and 8 I just found dull.

Nothing from Season 1 because imo that season was flawless. Even the worst episodes that season were great. Though 116 was probably the worst one with Nikki and Lucas. Or maybe 109 with the BL date...ew. Nothing from sesaon 2. I didnt think any episode was horrendous but I thought the worst ones were Brookes job crap in 212, Nathans depressive episode in 214 and 217 where Peyton was absent. Nothing from season 3. My least favorites that season were the 306/307 the fantasy boy draft ones were just lame but they weren't horrendous. Nothing from season 4, though my least favs were the 405 derek attack and 416 derek comes back episode becaue they were just so over the top! Also, 417 honeygrove because it was just cheesey. Season 7 I dont have many. The season imo was just kinda in general blase. The whole thing was mediocre. I didnt hate or love any of the episodes really. I cant say there were any I despised. TBH I dont remember a whole lot specifically. Nothing from 9 either, I thought every episode that season was solid as well. There were some low points like Mouth's overweight problems but besides that I pretty much enjoyed it!

Got it. Would you say one of the three is more of like the leader of the podcast or all three chime in about evenly?

Excellent thoughts.

So true about S1. Very true about S7... nothing was severely detestable but as a whole, it was blah. The recovery in S9 was so nice given how awful S8 was.
