This weekend they have just one game this morning in Nebraska. Overall, the season has been pretty messed up. They never did have a normal regular season so they've basically been playing only Friendly matches. Overall, they have played 8 games with a record of 6-2. Sara's coach is still deciding on where to play her. She's fast and has the best skill on the team so loves her at Center-Mid (attacking) yet flies on the wing and likes her at Forward as well as Striker. She plays all three positions at the moment. Sara doesn't really care either way. She's been playing those positions all her life so wherever she's needed is just fine by her.

Jerry, how was the storm?

Sam, hope vaccine distribution in Australia picks up soon!

Thanks for the new thread Michelle!

The storm lasted into the early evening (about four hours total) and power was restored about 7:00 PM. It's a nice day today. I'm going to make a brisket on my pellet grill with a new recipe that I'm trying.

I hope that everyone has a good weekend.

Thanks for the title!

Thank God you guys have a backup generator. I bet the humidity has dropped some after the storm and it’s really nice. Yum. That sounds so good!

Any side effects left from dose #2?

I made the mistake of reading some comments from others about the vaccine. LOL. From what I am gathering if you’ve had Covid, especially relatively recently, side effects will definitely be in the picture. The doctor said more side effects too but hearing others with actual experience confirms it. Which makes sense because like my sister said... you have natural immunity, then you get the vaccine and your immune system wonders why the new substance is entering when you already have protection. I am scheduled to get the first dose on Tuesday. On day 60 and change since first Covid symptoms. According to my doctor, I have a 90 day window (and probably longer but they for sure know it’s 90 days) which means another month or slightly under a month I am naturally immune to getting Covid since I have the natural antibodies. A part of me is saying to wait another two weeks to get the vaccine but the other part of me wants to just get it over with. I’ve had Covid so the side effects can’t be any worse and I had a mild case. Whether I get the first dose on Tuesday or in two weeks I think it’s probably all the same anyway. I’ve waited long enough.

Thanks, Michelle!

I heard something really frightening last night. A friend's mother lives in a large local senior development called Cedar Crest. Apparently they have 10 new covid cases in residents who have been vaccinated. That's not very reassuring.

Wow. Did they all receive the same vaccine? I would assume so? Hopefully it means they all have cold symptoms only though. But still, that's very odd, statistically it shouldn't be happening like that...

I don't know how bad they are, and it's a small percentage of the residents in that complex, but it's still scary! We still have to be careful even if we are vaccinated.

Pretty much.

At least until more of us get vaccinated.

Good luck with getting the vaccine!

Wonderful!

Have you been in the pool at all?

So if you had to sum up your second dose vaccine symptoms what did you experience and how long did they last?

Thanks!

Not yet. It isn't warm enough yet. It will be soon though.

The day I got the vaccine (Tuesday) I had no symptoms. The next day (Wednesday) I had arm soreness, chills, and a fever (it topped off at 99.9 Degrees F) and general exhaustion. I slept a good part of the day and went to bed early. Thursday, the fever was gone but I still had some chills in the morning and I felt tired at the beginning of the day but I felt better as the day progressed. Friday and today I felt, and feel, fine.

Teresa had no symptoms other than some arm soreness.

That's really interesting. My temperature was around that number (low grade) for six days. I kept sweating two nights towards the end of the six days but it never got past probably 100 F.

Thank God while you were uncomfortable, it didn't last for very long.

I'm really looking forward to swimming but I'm not looking forward to the miserable heat! Oh well, everything in life is a tradeoff.

Wow, six days of that! Poor you! I'm glad that you've fully recovered from that.

She's a total Daddy's Girl! I've never had any dog love me like Goldie loves me! I really love her!

There’s always a balance.

Thank you.

Yes it wasn’t ideal but staying away from the lungs (even if many symptoms lingered) makes me feel fortunate along with the rest of my family. Others aren’t so lucky.

Adorable how she followed you everywhere.

Awe, she does love you and knows you love her right back.

The Buddy and Hershey experiment was hot and cold. As predicted, Hershey bolted for the Sun Room immediately (even if he’s three times the size of Buddy) but after a while Hershey wanted around the action. Hershey’s too soft and gentle to bite back (growl) at Buddy but that’s precisely what he should do. He needs Buddy to understand he’s the King of the Pack, not Buddy. Right now, Buddy thinks he is, lol. Buddy just gets so excited he wants to jump on top of Hershey which makes Hershey very nervous. It got much better today, however. Or Hershey was just tired out due to anxiety so he seemed calmer.

Sara’s team won 3-0 and Sara had a good game. We were able to watch it on TV.

How was the brisket?
