I think you'll both be very pleased AND very disappointed on that last sentence, heh. They definitely have a lot of ups in S3, but whoo boy, one heck of a down.

Absolutely, insanely random question: do you think Ephram had to be the one to tell Delia about Julia?

I can't remember if we heard about that on the show. Even how Ephram found out.

What information about Julia are you talking about? The infidelity? I don't believe that anyone should tell Delia about that. What is the point? Andy had no choice but to tell Ephram....he didn't want to....but Ephram had the wrong idea and he was pressing the issue. Delia, on the hand, has a beautiful image of her mom....and that shouldn't be touched. It's not necessary for her to know.
On the hand....Ephram should eventually tell Delia what happened with Madison and the baby....that is major information....and he did promise Delia that when he is ready he will tell her.

Oops, yeah, I should have been more clear. Clarity is not my thing, hee. I meant the information that Julia had died. Like, Andy was at the office, so who told Ephram, who told Delia kind of thing.

Completely agree with these two. I was surprised we didn't get that Ephram/Delia moment in S4, but maybe if we had gotten a S5? If the writers had remembered?

I'm sure the writers would have something planned for them. I'm guessing that if they had a proper ending, knew it was coming and knew the perfect ending....there would be a lot of Delia and Ephram scenes. Since we didn't have many in the seasons previous

I think so too. We never really got closure from them in that final episode. Did they even have a scene? Actually, yes, I guess they had to have had one at the Batmitzvah, but I think it was maybe semi-comedic?

I'm sure that their grandparents (the Hoffmans) told them. That must have been horrible. I'm kind of glad we didn't see it.

Yeah, and it really wasn't good enough....I loved the "kind of ending" the two of them had season 3. It was very sad...but so moving.

good question

I don't know who would be the one to say it. In natural circumstances, Andy would be the one to tell Delia about her mother. But on the other hand, Ephram took care of Delia when Julia was unable to. So I can see the information coming a lot smoother and comforting from Ephram. I can't have a connection with Andy telling Delia about Julia's death. Up until them moving to Everwood and having them being there for a while, Andy didn't know how to talk to his kids about what kind of day they had at school, much less about something so serious and personal as the death of their mother.

Yeah, I can't picture Andy telling Delia either, Patricia, although I hope that he did.. But, when the accident happened, he was in his office. I always got the sense that Andy was one of the last to find out because he was so consumed with his work. But maybe not, because if that was the case, the police probably would have brought Ephram/Delia with them.

I'm thinking about this way too much, because I agree, Betty, I'm really glad that we didn't see it. It would have been too hard to watch.

But weren't Ephram and Delia in the same car on the way to the school? So how did the accident happen? That has always puzzled me?

Oh! I never thought of that. Yes, did Delia go to the recital? If so, she would have also been in the accident.

Exactly! It seemed Julia was the only one in the car. They never said any details about the accident except it was a stop light thing, right? My guess is she dropped Delia and Ephram off, maybe on her way to get Andy and got into an accident. If that were true, Andy would never forgive himself. Knowing if he went to the recital, Julia would still be alive; but we really never know.

Yes, I always imagined it as just Julia in the car, but then, yes, where was Delia? I think you're right that she may have dropped Ephram and Delia off.

Goodness, I feel stupid that I don't even know the mythology behind THE event that ended up starting the show. I'm sure it was all said during the show, but I can't remember at all right now, heh.

I haven't found it yet. And it looks like the further into the series they go, the less they talk about Julia's accident.
