County High Cafeteria#22 OT: Featuring Giant Posts of Introversion and Alex's Crepes
Since we're still eating your crepes, Alex, we'd love to hear from you. Did you and Michelle get together in France yet?

Hee, you need to find some way to work "giant posts of introversion" into the title.

Changed the title. A little muhahaha for changing mine last time, Betty. Hee. I did, however, refrain from putting in a reference my apparent lesbianism. Tempting though, if only to make it the longest title in the history of titles.
Is it just my internet or is FF moving extremely slowly today. It took me three minutes just to change that title! __________________

You know that line in the Gilmore Girls pilot, where Dean tells Rory that he's been watching her reading and recounts the story about the guy being hit by the ball in the face with blood pouring out, and all this insanity going on, and Rory never looks up from the book? Well, something similar happened with me on the bus yesterday. I was sitting, reading Contract with the World by Jane Rule (another incredibly well-written book for my Gay and Lesbian Writing in Canada class) and listening to music, and someone fainted. Right infront of me. I had a window seat, but right next to the people in the seat right infront of me, she fell. And apparently it was really loud and it was all crazy, and I didn't even notice until she was already up again and sitting down and everyone around me was talking about it.
I was really engrossed in the book. Or maybe I just didn't look up because I'm unbelievably self-centered (thanks, Rory). Either one. __________________

Unbelievably self-centered, probably. Wow, that's kind of crazy. But, must be one heck of a good book! And music.
Oddly enough, I realized this morning that I do the exact opposite thing at my library job. I get in at 9, I sit down at my usual computer, and just start typing those radio transcripts like mad, for pretty much four hours straight, because I get into a rhythm and it's easier to keep going and get the job done than to stop frequently. Thing is, everyone else in the office thinks I'm completely engrossed in the material -- which I'm not, at all, and I usually forget the specifics of each transcript about two minutes after finishing it -- and basically forgets that I'm even there, which has two awesome benefits: 1. No small talk or awkward chit-chat with people I barely know. 2. I get to eavesdrop on all manner of conversation without anyone realizing I'm paying them any attention. I knew things would turn around at this job sooner or later. __________________

Thanks for the new thread, Betty! I thought I posted last night, but I guess not.
Reposting my last post in the Cafeteria b/c it was at the end of the last thread: Quote:

And I replied that that is understandable since we have no diplomatic issues with New Zealand! |
