That's so true. Precisely what happens. I am sure showrunners, creators, writers also are looking at the future and focused on next projects as well so they pay less attention to the current series and it feels like more of a job at that point, less about an inspiration and creativity.

That's awesome! Same with Lost and even Stranger Things. The shows that have creators/showrunners with a full plan and know how long they need to tell the story usually have the best endings, let alone all the meat in the middle being fresh and high quality. Breaking Bad and the other two, the creators aren't doing it for just money, it is way more about high quality art and something to be proud of. It is great.
Which is why it truly was a blessing Everwood concluded when it did. S5 might have been unrecognizable as Berlanti was catering to the CW and not staying true to Everwood.
