100% figured.

I am sure you reached some of them too, as they grew up and applied it to everyday life.

Nina: [about Madison] Who was that?
Ephram: Oh you mean Satan? That's Delia's new babysitter. I basically hate her.

Andy: I think I am a pretty good judge of people.
Ephram: Yeah? Like that maid you hired back in Manhattan that stole all the silverware?
Foreshadowing, lol.

I actually miss the rewatch. Looking forward to the next episode. Yes, S2 is tough but the quality overall is fantastic and it still gets us to S3 and S4.

Hurry back, Betty! JK

Betty is returning August 10th which means we could start 2.5 on the 8th or wait until the 15th.

Thoughts on when to resume?

My suggestion would be to wait until the 15th when Betty is fully back.

I don’t mind if you resume on the eighth. I can catch up. It’s up to you.

Just to get something on this thread I noticed I said this during one of our older rewatches:

Also, whenever you think about season 2 as a whole, it actually was the season of "mistakes and hiccups" for so many of the characters...

1) Amy acting out due to her situational depression and with druggie, Tommy.
2) Harold being a father or not being a father, juggling the good with the bad.
3) Ephram becoming a "man" while realizing sometimes it's not what it's necessarily cracked up to be.
4) Andy adjusting to fatherhood and its ups and downs, not seeing Nina like he should have.
5) Bright being the great best friend but still very much the player that eventually shapes up once he gets to know Hannah in the future.

All the characters were with the wrong people romantically, too. I guess if you think about it no one was really in a perfect place in season 2. I just wish EM would have ended when they should have... IN season 2.

I also love this:

Quote:
1. I would've had an issue with the THIRTY-YEAR AGE DIFFERENCE, myself. Adults are adults and I think people of legal age can do whatever they want, but it doesn't mean I would have wanted to see someone of Andy's life experience getting together with a 20-year-old college student whom he'd hired to care for his children. Raging midlife crisis stereotype, anyone? Sometimes those age gaps aren't an issue when the two individuals can meet on a certain maturity and interest level, but I don't think that would have been the case for Andy and Madison, heh.

2. But related to my point above: adults are adults, and Madison was one, but Ephram was not, in spite of his comparative maturity. I have far more issues with Ephram/Madison now than I did at the time, and I attribute it to my age then (18). I see no problem in a girl being older than a guy, but I do when said girl is veering towards 21 and said guy has just turned 16. That is such a HUGE gap at that stage in life.

^ Indeed. A five year age gap is nothing! A ten year ago gap is nothing, if the pairing is 30 and 40 or 40 and 50. Big deal.

For Ephram/Amy it was always all about the age the boy was at versus the girl. A boy at 16 is so damn immature. He's not even 16 mentally, more like 14. A girl should be a little older too. If you actually go with that line of thinking Ephram was 14 and Madison was 22/23 as far as maturity.

I mean, think about that... she DID treat him like a little boy.

Ugh, so gross, and Berlanti never denied just how gross based on the writing/construction of their storyline.
