Saturn, the Orion Nebula and the three moons of Jupiter were bright in the sky, seen through massive telescopes, courtesy of James’ star gazer friends, as we talked about Galileo, Sedna’s orbit and the future of a magical pool that will contain all the rippled echos of the sounds of the universe.

I’ve been a fervent follower of @jamesturell for years and after spending a night at @rodencrater it’s dawn on me that perhaps all his work is just an exercise, beautiful masterful maquettes for the immensity of Roden.

As it works towards opening for the public in 2028 Roden Crater is a monumental, pre-made ruin to be shared with all, connecting us to a multitude of celestial bodies seen from Earth and the light from the beginning of time. Visitors will circumambulate the site three times, clockwise in the Buddhist tradition: one for Enlightenment, one for Dharma, one for Sangha 🙏🏼
