Isi, thanks for the new thread!

Kaat, Carol lives in Oklahoma near the Arkansas border, I think.

Anyway, I was away for Wednesday and Thursday and I imagine I will be for the whole semester except for Thanksgiving break :P This is because those are the days I have my internship, which is off to a great start, btw. My hours are from "whenever I get in thanks to the bus" (either 9am or 10am depending if I make the transfer or not and I think I will make the transfer so 9am) to 5pm on Wednesday and 8am to 2pm on Thursday. They're working on a 10-part mini-series for the History Channel about World War 2 (supposed to premiere in September 2009, I think), so right now, I'm sub clipping screener tapes (which are like 2 hours long) to make things easier for the editors. In my first week, I got through 1 complete screener tape and about 2/3 of a second.

So, I can't believe it's Friday already! The real weekend and not the "fake" weekend I sort of get in the middle of the week when I'm interning. See instead of coming back at school after interning, I walk to where my cousin works in the same town as the internship (I say it took about 20 minutes with all the stuff I was carrying) and then I go home with him where his wife makes us (and their four children... two boys, one is 6 with an April birthday and the other's turning 10 in November and two girls, both have their birthdays in October.. one's turning 5 and the other's turning 1) dinner and I sleep. Then on Thursday morning, my cousin drops me off at my internship. It really helps because it takes at least an hour and a half to get to my internship by bus each way.

Anyway, my cousin's kids (technically, they're my first cousins once removed) are SO adorable. The older girl was all "Hi Gaby!" when I came in last night. Spending the night is also really nice because it's relatively free from distractions (I purposely don't bring my laptop so I don't have that distraction; instead, I bring homework like my Linear Algebra homework -- that's my only class that meets more than once a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 -- and a journal to brainstorm what I'll type for other assignments). Obviously the kids are a distraction, but they go to bed before I do :P

Now, I'm off to sleep because I have to walk at least 20 minutes to my Friday class at the other college in town and when I did the timed leisurely walk over the summer, my dorm room then was closer to the campus than my dorm room is now. Plus, I didn't have my messenger bag and/or my backpack when I did the walk so that will very likely slow me down some more. The class is supposed to start at 10, but I have a meeting at that campus at 9 so I'm thinking I need to leave somewhere around 8, 8:15 just to be really safe.

Yellow Mustang Girl 08-29-2008 07:48 AM

Kaat Yep, Gaby is correct. I live in OK but work in AR... :)

I hope everyone is having a great Friday... maybe an early start to the weekend? :)

I'm about to go teach a few classes and try to cut out of work early for my four day weekend :sun:
