They're both written exams. They give us about 5/6 questions and we have to answer 3/4 of them. shouldn't be too bad though, one of them is only worth 50% while the other is worth 100%
Wow that sucks that one is worth 100% Good luck Dave!:flowers:
May I ask what subject you're studying?:)

Ugh  I'm soo tired--I'm still not used to the new timetable:lol:

The last two exams i've had (last semester and last year) were both 100%, so it's not so bad that this time i have 2 because one of them is only worth 50% :D

I'm doing an IT degree at university :)

Taschka Well, still no rest on my end yet  I didn't get to sleep until after 1 this morning and was back up before 7  And tomorrow morning I have to be at a local TV station to do an interview by 4:45 am! :thud:

BepperGirl 04-10-2008 03:30 PM

What's the interview for, Carol?

BepperGirl 04-10-2008 08:33 PM

Well, hi back to you, Dave! I'm studying computers at uni, too, btw.

I have to write a draft of a paper (6-8 pages) due in about 3 weeks.

Well, I’m guessing some of y’all may have heard about the storms in my area … in fact, our tiny town of Muldrow was on the national news because of the storms that came through Wednesday night

I was home, doing a bit of work on my computer and talking on the phone, when the storms came up suddenly! I could hear the tornado sirens going off in downtown Muldrow and soon thereafter hail began pelting my house!

I honestly thought it was going to break one of my windows, but thankfully it didn’t. However, my roof/ceiling did leak around my skylight … in fact, part of the sheetrock fell into my floor!

But I got off with NOTHING compared to most folks in the area:

Quote:

Red Cross officials estimated more than 400 homes were damaged, and at least 50 homes were destroyed.
Many townspeople here are convinced that a tornado must have hit nearby, but meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Tulsa said Thursday there were no reports of tornadic activity near Muldrow and that the widespread damage most likely was caused by intense straight-line winds.
Mammoth uprooted trees lined streets throughout the community. Roughly half the town of about 1,300 homes were without electricity
From: NewsOK Mobile

I couldn’t get off my road until later on Thursday because of flooding… I live on a dead-end dirt road, and there is a creek I must cross to get to the highway. That creek was flooded! (This is typical of spring rains, though).

When I did leave to go to work, I was amazed at all the damage! It truly looked like a tornado had hit the town. There was no electricity in any of the whole downtown region. Thankfully, because I live north of town, we still had electricity.

Roofs were ripped off houses and just laying by the side of the road. The tin roof on a barn that I saw, was literally peeled back and tin was strewn everywhere! Totally across town, I saw pieces wrapped around stop signs and light poles.

Neither one of our two stoplights were working because there was no electricity! It was just crazy! Half of the Sonic was destroyed. Awnings on everything in town were ripped.

Quote:

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said more than 200 homes and businesses were damaged in the storm; the National Weather Service put the number at 477.

Straight-line winds of 100 mph and hail whipped through the town, the weather service said.
From: Tulsa World: High winds whip Muldrow

In fact, because of the lack of electricity and all the damage, the Muldrow schools were closed yesterday and today!

April's fury batters Ft Smith and River Valley

And it wasn’t just Muldrow that received damage, though we got the brunt of this particular storm. Houses and cars in Ft. Smith were damaged drastically because of the hail. Two of my grandma’s windows were broken because of the hail and tons of cars had their windshields literally shattered.

I was watching our local weather man on TV all night (who was live with severe weather reports for like 7 hours straight, as we had two lines of storms come through right after each other.)

At one point in the night, the whole TV crew had to take cover in their interior room because the funnel cloud/rotation was going right over their station.

Here is a video link to the news about the hail and the newsmen ducking for cover: KFSM Video Player

Whohoo:woot: I just dedicated my post #6000 to the Alias board:party: :yay:

Yellow Mustang Girl 04-11-2008 05:19 AM

Gaby You asked about my interview this morning? :) It’s to let folks know about a fundraiser my student organization is having this weekend  I sponser a creative arts club at my campus, and we publish a literary magazine each year. So we have to raise the money to pay for the magazine  We’re having a gift shop today and tomorrow to raise money :)

Dave :) Thanks for dropping by  Yes, each post brings us one post closer to the goal :cheerleader:

Andie  My plans for the weekend include lots of sleep  I only got 5 hours last night because I had to be up so early for the interview this morning.. and I only got 6 hours the night before because of the storms… and I’ve been so busy at work, I have only gotten about 7 or 8 the other nights  For a gal who needs 8-9 a night, this just ain’t working :lmao:

Seriously, though, I do have a dance to go to tonight and then grandma’s tomorrow… we’ll probably have to help clean up after the storms at her house. And I need to check my land and roof for more damage…..

Taschka  The weather is beautiful today  Weather in our area is like that

And congrats on your 6000 post

 Carol

Sis, I took some photos of the "storm event"

Here's the photos I took yesterday while driving home from work. Keep in mind that a LOT of it had been cleaned up already.

Thankfully our houses and all where Sis, Mom and Dad, Kevin and I live were all fine.

Barn at the bottom of the mountain where we live, that lost it's roof.
