I am going to vote in a few hours. Hopefully, I'll be able to beat the "after work" crowd. I have never done my voting at a precinct so I have no idea how the actuall voting part works. It is making me a little anxious, actually.
After that, I may got to Starbucks and get my free coffee because they are giving them out to people who say they have voted. Then maybe read. All I know is I am not watching the coverage. __________________

There will be. From what I understand, they have plenty of workers walking around to help people who need it. I just hate asking for it.

I don't understand why you system is so complicated btw. Here it's easy, we have papers with the name of the candidates, we put the right one in an enveloppe...and voila

If it weren't complicated, then it would be un-American somehow. I have been reading that there have already been mechanical problems with machines in some places and they have had to resort to paper ballots. I don't know why we don't just use paper ballots. It just seems easier.

Paper ballot is the easier and safer way. I really don't why they didn't change it.

Good luck all of you!!!
I've been following the American news the whole day online on the dutch newspaper sites. I'm not able to see the result, cause when it's announced it will be the middle of the night and I'm sorry, but I like to sleep and dream Good title The first thing i heard on the radio this morning was that Obama won a part of New Hamshire. I liked that start of the morning! Whoever you vote for, good luck! __________________

TFTNT... Flove the title, Jess!
My brother and I just got back from voting. From outside the little church we vote at it looked like it was going to be like a 5 hour wait lol... but to our surprise it was a quick 20 minutes. __________________

I will check that out once I actually get on LJ, Jess. I have a few suggestions that you may like.
I have been hearing all kinds of stories about lines and what not. I am bringing a book and some music so I do not have to stress even if it is a long wait. I suppose it all depends on how well equipped the precinct is to handle the influx of people. __________________

Well, if you are voting strictly for one party or the other, then you can get through it really fast. There is an "all Republican" or "all Democrat" option on the ballot so if all your choices are one or the other, all you have to do is tick that box and you're done. I, however, have to be difficult about things and am going to take my time about it.

I voted today
Surprisingly there was no line lol. I think it's because I voted at 12 when everyone was probably still at work. I left my class and went straight to the church. There were some Republicans outside the church holding signs to vote for whatever candidate on the Republican party. I thought that was illegal? Cause I know in California your not supposed to be on the grounds showing any favoritism to a certain party. Lying/Cheating Republicans __________________

Now, now...Not all Republicans are liars/cheaters. For example....uhm....well, I can't think of one but I am sure they exist. From what I heard, each party can have representatives/volunteers at polling locations but they have to be at least 100ft away from the station. Though, obviously it varies from place to place.
I actually did not have to wait either. I was in and out of my precinct in about 20 minutes. There were probably 10 other people there and I went around 3:00. The gentleman working there said it was busy this morning and it will probably pick up tonight, after work lets out for most. I thought it was going to be harder than that. And now...we wait... __________________
