They just didn't talk about it enough for me. I mean, Joey was with him for almost a year and she had no trouble giving Audrey her blessing to be with him. Things like that still bother me a little.

agree about S5 to an extent. I would have changed the amnesia for sure, but I do love the emphasis on friendship in that season.

Me too. I loved seeing them work as friends in a different way than they did in S1-3. But I would've had them work a little harder to get there.

agreed i felt things got too comfortable with PJo after what happened between them. In a way, i loved it because we got to see them in a different relationship. we had their banter, their growing friendship and then their romantic relationship. In season 5, it was more of an established friendship that we saw. the part i dislike is that they got to that point way too quickly imo.

ITA with both of you. It's just so unrealistic to me that they have one conversation and some barely-there-tention in the next episode and then everything's hunky dory. Especially Pacey giving her his "blessing" or whatever the hell you want to call it to be with Dawson. Yeah, its good that he didn't pull a Dawson and freak the hell out, but they were barely broken up and i at least expected him to be more bothered. All we saw was an "Oh..." and some tension when he figured out that Dawson stayed because of Joey. I know the Pacey of late season 3 and all of season 4 would have been way more bothered by that information.

And that's why we call it the season of PJ amnesia. Because it was as if they forgot that they were together and IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER a few months prior.

i definitely dont see it like that at all. I was just going to say that I liked Pacey's reactions in that episode. You can tell with his initial reaction that it definitely bothered him, but he held it together. The first few episodes of S5 weren't so bad IMO, when it came to PJo.
It was throughout the season that drove me nuts. I didn't appreciate how alright Joey was with Audrey/Pacey. I wouldn't even care for her to be all pissed off or anything, but just a smidgen of an initial reaction where she is sort of taken aback.
I guess it's true what they say. It's much easier to get over someone when you have someone waiting for u on the other side and i guess knowing Dawson was there, made it easier for her to move on and accept whatever was going on with Pacey and Audrey.
In season 6, Joey wasn't very happy with Pacey and his quest for "romance" in Castaways. She wasn't with or in the process of being with anyone at the time. Maybe that was the difference

Yeah, for me the part that was contrived was them getting over each other and becoming instant BFFs.

If I could, I'd change the finale. Not in case PJ, but the way of these two
come back to each other. Last scene was not as emotional as I would like it to be. They show only a second. That is not enough for me.

i know what u mean.
i guess they wanted that "shock" factor, which is kind of dumb IMO. It was pretty obvious about halfway through that it was nowhere near over between PJo, so the "surprise" element was completely unnecessary.

However, I do like that they sort of show them in the near future where u can assume they are living together and are happy. So in a way, we also got a little glimpse into their lives post-show.

The fact that P/J acted like nothing happened between them and they were over each other from one day to the other..

That's just what you think.

In my opinion it was a whole lot healthier and special then DJo's. Using each other as security blankets, manipulation, spineless-ness, ultimatums, break-ups over nothing, non-supportiveness, blindness, idealizing, putting each other on pedestals and not liking it when the other falls down from that so called pedestal....

I could go on.

I agree I can't count the number of times I got frustrated with the insecurities between Pacey and Joey. Bringing Dawson's name into almost every fight was a bit ridicious imo. And this is something I wish had been rewritten. I don't like the Pacey/Joey pairing at all but I do wish the writers hadn't made Pacey feel so insecure in regards to the Dawson issue and I wish we'd seen them a lot happier together in S4. I didn't feel there were many times we saw them angst free.
