I still hate the way Dawson was written as the bad guy in this.

He was still just teenager & found out like the worst way possible instead of it coming from Pacey or Joey. I think finding out from Jen about PJo made it even worst for him.

Then I can't help but remember how much Joey not meaning to hurt him over & over in Season 2.

When Pacey brings up that Dawson wanted him to take care of Joey he admits he only did that b/c he didn't want to get hurt again. I thought James delivered that line great.

Dawson does at least do the right thing in the end & lets Joey go & tells her to go to Pacey.

My heart broke for him.

My heart broke for Andie too when she was pushing Pacey to fight for Joey.

DC is just one of the few shows where I love basically all the characters.

Sadly I don't think they really intended to make Dawson out to be such an unlikeable character which is why I think they turned things around in S4 for him and he became more likeable, S2 and S3 were his worst seasons.

I didn't really like Dawson the whole series but I agree he was at his worst in S2 and especially S3 (Where he became the biggest ahole on Earth with a little still spilling over in early S4) Outside of that, I guess he was at least tolerable in the other seasons. In general, you shouldn't make the main character that the series is named after unlikable lol.

I didn’t hate Dawson the whole series, but during seasons two and three I could not stand him. More so in season three. In seasons 4 and above I grew to like him more as he matured.

I always like Dawson. I felt they took his worst traits & made them over the top in Season 3.

I've watched up to Self Reliance in Season 4.

Still pissed they wrote Andie off.

Season 4 seems to have from the start a clear direction more than Season 3 did at first.

Drew is a fun addition to the show causing trouble like Abby did.

I like Dawson/Gretchen. I would have loved if they brought her back to be with him later.

I wish they kept Gretchen on the show. Glad Drue was only around one season, couldn't stand that antagonistic jackass.

Yeah I liked Dawson with Jen and Gretchen the most. I wish they brought Gretchen back. Her relationship with Pacey was great too. His only family member that was actually supportive and loving to him and didn't treat him like crap. Doug had his moments, but Gretchen was his best sibling.

^^^I agree. One of the many reasons I liked Gretchen was cause she was the only family member of Pacey's that didn't treat him horribly. Pacey's family were a bunch of aholes, I can't stand them.

I always enjoyed Gretchen too and wish they would have kept her around.

I felt they should have had her come back in the finale and that she and Dawson would end up together. What better life long bond than to become family with your two best friends and eventually their kids would actually be related.

I haven't been feeling good & haven't rewatched anymore.

We are getting to some sad stuff with Mr. Brooks & Dawson.

I really loved that SL though.
