Well, what do you guys think? Pacey was clearly completely crazy about Joey - risking his friendship with Dawson etc. Would he have done the same for Andie? Do you think his love for her was as strong. And . . . what about Joey? Who do you think she had a stronger love for? Dawson or Pacey? I loved Pacey and Joey together best - I'm a huge fan of their relationship. Still . . . just wondered what you all think?!

Well, I firmly believe that no two loves are the same. So I guess I'll just have to lay it all out there:
P/A: I loved these two together. They saved each other, plus had a nice banter, which I enjoyed watching. I was not pleased at all with what the writer's did to Andie's character. As for Pacey risking his friendship? Yes, I think he would have done this for Andie because love knows no bounds. Thank goodness that wasn't a factor. It certainly took a lot out of P/J for me.
P/J: When S3 and S4 originally aired, I hated this couple. Now it's not so bad. I like little moments that they have, but their tireless discussions/arguments on Dawson really exhaust me. Sure Dawson didn't handle it very well, but lets forgive it and move on. His friendships with both were threatened and he tried to cling onto Joey. So what. Miss Queen Indesisive Joey Potter didn't help matters either.
D/J: I liked this couple because of the dynamic they had. They didn't let anyone else rule their relationship by bringing his/her name up everytime there was an argument, plus I just loved that they had been friends for most of their lives and all that.
I'm not sure who she loved more. I'd have to say Dawson, because when you look at the broad view of the show, it is about the love between Dawson and Joey and how their lives keep crossing paths repeatedly. That does not mean to say she did not love Pacey a significant amount. Besides there are different kinds of love and it all depends on the way you look at it.

Cool answer eatyourgreens! I still remain a loyal Pacey/Joey fan though! Although, I can see what you mean about Dawson and Joey. As for Pacey and Andie, I totally agree with you - I liked them together but Andie's character was ruined for me when she cheated on Pacey. Thanks for your thoughts!

You're welcome. Dawson and Joey had their vices as well. I really didn't like how they said they were ready to be together, but had to sit and think about it every little bit until it was too late (I'm talking S3 Dawson and S5 Joey). I'm sorry I didn't mention that above. I really like some of Pacey and Joey's stuff (pier scene in "Like a Virgin" is one of my fave scenes in the show), but like you I remain loyal to my preferred couple. I'm interested in hearing some of your (and other's) thoughts about it.

well, if it was 2000 I would have said imediately, Pacey and Joey loved each other the most and what not. But i had only started watchin the show because of them. Now having watched the whole series I can only attest clearly that Joey was most definitly the love of Pacey's life and Andie was his first love. As for Joey, I will say for season 3 she had gotten over Dawson and had fallen in love with Pacey. Then all these insecutirties with Dawson moving on with his life in season 4 were the writers i thin trying to keep and drag on DJ drama. You see, the IT factor and appeal of PJ was unexpected by the writers so they were in a trap because really the premise of the show is DJ. But PJ had something unexpectantly better because I think Dawson's character had, ironically, more growing up to do than PAcey.

I dunno does anyone agree with any of this or even understand it? hah i guess only time will tell...

Exaclty, I don´t think there is an answer to this question. I do know Joey picked Pacey to be the guy for her life, and Pacey did the same with her.
But I don´t know if one love was stronger than the other. I bealive Joey truelly loved Dawson, and Pacey truelly loved Andy. It´s just not the same kind of love they shared with each other.
Joey explained it really well in the season final.
I do bealive P/A love was healthier than J/D... IMO

ITA here. And its just like Joey said to Dawson in Promicide,

"I don't think i'll ever love anyone the way that i loved you either."

Their love, like P/an was just so rare and amazing, its hard to find love like that, and IMO its different to the way P/J loved each other. So i would say, yea, i honestly think that Pacey loved Andie more then Joey, Pacey's love for Andie went beyond anything that i've ever seen besides D/J. Which is what attracted me to these two couples. I am aware of Pacey's love for Joey and vise versa, but IMO it wasen't as strong as P/An's and D/J's.

TO answer your question : NO Pacey didn't love them the same. To sum it up: Dawson was Joey's first love as was Andie to Pacey. These loves are sometimes different from your soulmate or the one you want to be with in life. No, two loves are the same. And the difference would be first love vs. Lasting love. Your first love may be the first person you fall in love with but may not be the person you spend your life with The person that Pacey was with Joey was the person Andie helped him become and when he fell in love with Joey he was able to handle it because of all he went through with Andie, the same applies for Joey and Dawson. FIrst loves with always hold a place in your heart but your "last" love will fill your heart up. That was my chessy quote for today and the end of my thoughts .

I don't think he loved Andie more then Joey. He was still in love with Joey when he was 25. I thought P/A had a sweet relationship, though. I thought DJ confused their bond for real love and thats why they caused eachother so much pain. And that is an easy thing to do when your a teenager. When they were friends they worked much better, imo.

Yes, because they were two different people. His love for Joey doesn't take anything away from his love for Andie.
